탄소계 면상발열체 발열 특성 연구 (Study on the Heat Performance of CNT/carbon Fiber Plane Heater)

  • Electrical energy is used for heating and cooling because electric cars do not have engines and cooling water. The downside is that when the heating and cooling system is applied to electric vehicles, about 40 percent of the energy is spent on heating and cooling, which is less efficient in winter. This has increased demand for electric vehicle battery efficiency. In this study, the condensation and dispersion of carbon nanotubes were controlled, and carbon fibers and composite slurry were manufactured without binders to manufacture paper. Manufactured by content showed the highest heat generation characteristic at 143℃ with a carbon fiber content ratio of 20wt% and confirmed that the heat temperature rises with increasing pressure. The plane heaters made through this study can be applied to a variety of products other than electric vehicles because they can be simplified by process and high temperature.

  • 고속비행체의 내외부 환경에서 가열이 된 고온고압의 흡열연료를 구현하고, 촉매를 이용한 흡열 열교환기의 성능평가를 가능하도록 하는 시험장치를 설계/제작하였다. 시험장치를 원활히 운용하기 위해, 예비시험을 통하여 고온의 흡열연료를 공급하기 위한 시험절차를 확립하였다. 흡열연료의 공급조건에 따른 촉매성능 시험을 수행하고 흡열량을 분석하였다. 선행연구사례와 동일한 반응조건에서의 촉매 반응결과를 비교하여 시험장치의 타당성을 검증하였다. 본 시험장치는 향후 다양한 조건의 흡열연료와 촉매의 흡열반응 시험에 활용할 수 있다.

유치원 건물에서 다중 히트펌프 시스템의 적용에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Applicability of a Multiplex Heat Pump System in the Kindergarten)

  • We experimented with the energy saving effect of applying a multiplex heat pump system and suggests a dissemination plan for new and existing educational facilities. The development and dissemination of a new system could reduce energy consumption by up to 57%, and help solve environmental issues. Experimental performance evaluated in the kindergarten to analyze the energy saving effect of the cooling and heating system. The average daily COP of the cooling and heating period in the field test was 3.79. Our results showed that the annual energy consumption was reduced, and proved that the multiplex heat pump system is effective in reducing energy consumption.

CFX를 이용한 내부순환모드에서의 자동차 내부 유동특성 연구 (A study on Flow Characteristic inside Passenger's Compartment under Recirculation Cool vent mode using CFX)

  • The flow characteristics under recirculation cool vent mode is numerically studied using commercial fluid dynamic code(CFX). For the reliable analysis, real vehicle and human FE model is employed in grid generation process. The geometrical location and shape of panel vent, and exhaust vent is set as that of real vehicle model. The flowrate of the working fluid is determined as 330CMH which is equivalent to 70 percent of maximum capacity of HVAC system. The high velocity regions are formed around 4 each panel vent. Because of the non-symmetrically located exhaust, non-uniform flow and partial backflow near the door trim is observed. Streaklines start from each panel vent show the flow pattern of the airflow in the passenger's compartment very well.

듀얼 냉동사이클을 이용하는 특수목적 자동차용 에어컨 시스템의 냉방성능에 관한 연구 (Investigation on the Performance of Special Purpose Automotive Air-Conditioning System Using Dual Refrigeration Cycle)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 열대 지방에서 사용되는 특수목적 자동차용 에어컨 시스템의 냉방성능 특성을 고찰하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 R-134a를 사용하는 듀얼 냉동사이클을 구성하였고 냉매량 및 실내온도를 변화시켜가면서 냉방성능을 비교하였다. 외기온도 $40.0^{\circ}C$에서 듀얼 냉동사이클의 실내 냉각속도 및 압축비(토출압력) 등을 고려하여 최적 냉매량을 1.5kg으로 선정하였다. 실내온도가 증가할수록 냉방부하가 증가하여 $25.0^{\circ}C$에서 $32.5^{\circ}C$로 실내온도를 높일 경우 $15.0^{\circ}C$에 도달하는데 걸리는 시간은 86.5% 증가하였고, $32.5^{\circ}C$에서 $40.0^{\circ}C$로 증가할 경우 38.1% 증가하였다. 또한, 실내온도가 $25.0^{\circ}C$에서 $40.0^{\circ}C$로 증가할수록 냉방용량은 19.1 kW에서 20.5 kW로 7.3% 증가했으나 냉방성능(COP)는 4.67에서 5.1로 7.0%감소하였다.

  • In this study, we report on a power system developed as a decelerator for a driving module in an electric vehicle. The system is to be mounted in a limited space. The research focus was on development of miniaturization, light weight, and high power density. In particular, we aimed to minimize the layout of existing external components as integrated or built-in, and to maximize the power density by applying optimal cooling technology to increased requirements for developing modular power systems applicable to various OEM models. South Korean automakers ranked fourth in global electric-vehicle sales in 2020, but domestic sales are relatively slow. Despite government's expansion in subsidies for eco-friendly cars, consumers are delaying purchases after 2021 considering the cost-effectiveness of electric vehicles. In major European markets, the demand for electric vehicles exceeded the demand for diesel cars, and sales of hybrid cars, which used to represent eco-friendly cars, are slowing down as Toyota, started selling electric vehicles. In this study, the internal lubrication characteristics of a decelerator installed in an electric vehicle were analyzed in terms of the deceleration time while driving. By selecting the proper oil and oil viscosity, it was confirmed that there is no problem in lubricating the bearings and gears of the decelerator.

승용차 폐열 회수용 유기 랭킨 사이클 성능 분석 (Performance analysis of an organic Rankine cycle for waste heat recovery of a passenger car)

  • Applicability of organic Rankine cycle for a passenger car with 3.5 L gasoline engine to convert low grade waste heat to useful shaft power has been numerically studied. Working fluid is R134a, and the Rankine cycle is composed of boiler for recovering engine cooling water heat, super heater for recovering exhaust gas heat, scroll expander for converting waste heat to shaft power, condenser for heat emission, internal heat exchanger, and feed pump. Assuming efficiencies of 90% for the heat exchangers, 75% for the scroll expander, and 80% for the feed pump, the Rankine cycle efficiency of 5.53% was calculated at the vehicle speed of 120 km/hr. Net expander shaft output after subtracting the power required to run the pump was 3.22 kW, which was equivalent to 12.1% improvement in fuel consumption. About the same level of improvement in the fuel consumption was obtained over the vehicle speed range of 60 km/hr~120 km/hr.

  • Fuel cell systems are consisted of various parts, for example fuel cell stack, fuel supplier, electrical converters, controllers and so on. Each components of system should have appropriate specification for their applications as well as simplicity. Because thermal load can be managed simply by using fans without any water cooling system, the air-cooled PEMFC is widely used in sub kW and around 1kW systems. The performance of an air-cooled system is highly dependent on ambient temperature and humidity. In this paper, the air-cooled PEMFC systems are developed and investigated to study the operating characteristics in the aspect of the thermal and water coupled management by the control of the axial fans and compressors. Various experiments were also conducted to get the cell voltage distribution, the relative humidity of the reactant gas and the thermal management by axial cooling fans, which cannot be observed in single cell experiment. After then, as practical applications, portable fuel cell system and a hybrid electric cart were successfully integrated and operated by using this air-cooled stack.

대형차량용 냉각팬 날개수 및 주변장치에 의한 압력강하에 따른 성능해석 연구 (An investigation on analysis of heavy vehicle cooling fan system by radiator consideration and blade number)

  • 본 논문에서 연구하고자 하는 팬은 대형 차량용 라디에이터 냉각팬으로써 수치해석을 통한 일반적인 팬의 성능 평가시 팬과 쉬라우드의 형상만을 이용하여 시뮬레이션 하지만 라디에이터를 거쳐 공기가 유입되는 실제 현상에 좀 더 가깝게 모사하고자 라디에이터의 압력 부하를 고려한 시뮬레이션을 수행하였고 기존 해석 결과와 비교하였다. 연구된 냉각팬은 쉬라우드의 전방에 라디에이터가 설치되며 라디에이터를 통하여 공기가 유입되기 때문에 라디에이터의 압력 부하에 따라 팬 성능에 영향을 준다. 라디에이터의 압력 부하 성능을 모사하기 위하여 쉬라우드 입구에 박스 형태로 라디에이터의 외부 크기를 모델링 한 후 수치해석 시 porous media model을 사용하여 풍속에 따른 압력 강하 곡선을 적용하였다. 수치해석에서 porous media model을 적용할 경우 실제적인 형상 모델링 없이도 실험으로부터 도출한 성능곡선을 조건으로 입력하여 실제 현상에 가까운 시뮬레이션을 할 수 있다. 그리고 팬 날개수 증가에 따른 해석을 수행하여, 날개수 변경에 따른 성능개선의 여지를 확인 하였다.

Effects of Corrosion Inhibitor on Corrosion of Al-based Alloys in Ethylene Glycol-Water Coolant Environment

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate (SDBS) as a corrosion inhibitor on the pitting corrosion behavior of aluminum alloys used in electric vehicle battery cooling systems within a mixture of ethylene glycol and water (EG-W) coolant. Potentiodynamic polarization testing revealed unstable passive film formation on the aluminum alloys in the absence of SDBS. However, the addition of SDBS resulted in a robust passive film, enhancing the pitting corrosion resistance across all examined alloys. Pitting corrosion was predominantly observed near intermetallic compounds in the presence of Cl? ions, which was attributed to galvanic interactions. Among tested alloys, A1040 demonstrated superior resistance due to its lower areal fraction of precipitates and donor density. The incorporation of SDBS inhibitors mitigated the overall pitting corrosion process by hindering Cl? ion penetration. These findings suggest that SDBS can significantly improve pitting corrosion resistance in aluminum alloys employed in battery coolant environments.
