With the evolving complexity of connected vehicle features, the volume and diversity of data generated during driving continue to escalate. Enabling data sharing among interconnected vehicles holds promise for improving users' driving experiences and alleviating traffic congestion. Yet, the unintentional disclosure of users' private information through data sharing poses a risk, potentially compromising the interests of vehicle users and, in certain cases, endangering driving safety. Federated learning (FL) is a newly emerged distributed machine learning paradigm, which is expected to play a prominent role for privacy-preserving learning in autonomous vehicles. While FL holds significant potential to enhance the architecture of the Internet of Vehicles (IoV), the dynamic mobility of vehicles poses a considerable challenge to integrating FL with vehicular networks. In this paper, a novel clustered FL framework is proposed which is efficient for reducing communication and protecting data privacy. By assessing the similarity among feature vectors, vehicles are categorized into distinct clusters. An optimal vehicle is elected as the cluster head, which enhances the efficiency of personalized data processing and model training while reducing communication overhead. Simultaneously, the Local Differential Privacy (LDP) mechanism is incorporated during local training to safeguard vehicle privacy. The simulation results obtained from the 20newsgroups dataset and the MNIST dataset validate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme, indicating that the proposed scheme can ensure data privacy effectively while reducing communication overhead.

In this paper, we developed a vehicle control terminal using IoT and low-power long-distance communication (NB-IoT) technology. This system collects information on the location and status of a parked vehicle, and transmits the vehicle status to the vehicle owner's terminal in real time with low power to prevent vehicle theft, and in the case of a vehicle in motion, When primary information about the vehicle, such as an impact, is collected and transmitted to the server, the server analyzes the relevant data to generate secondary information on traffic congestion, road damage, and safety accidents. By sending it, you can know the exact arrival time of the vehicle at its destination. This terminal device is an IoT gateway for a vehicle and can be connected to various wired and wireless sensors inside the vehicle. In addition, the data collected from vehicle maintenance, efficient operation, and vehicles can be usefully used in the private or public sector.
In this paper, we propose a design method and process for hybrid V2X communication platform that combines WAVE communication and LTE-V2X communication which are C-ITS communication protocols for vehicle environments and Legacy LTE communication which is a commercial mobile communication for evaluating the autonomous platooning platform of commercial vehicles. For a safe and efficient autonomous platooning platform, an low-latency communication function based on C-ITS communication is required, and to control it, commercial communication functions such as Legacy LTE, which can be connected at all times, are required. In order to evaluate such a system, the evaluation equipment must have the same level of communication performance or higher. The main design contents presented in this paper will be applied to the implementation of hybrid V2X terminals for functional evaluation.
In this paper, we propose a design method and process for hardware and software of hybrid V2X communication module that supports both C-ITS communication protocol designed for vehicle environment and Legacy LTE communication technology. C-ITS is suitable for safety service applications due to its low latency characteristics, and Legacy LTE is a technology suitable for non-safety applications such as traffic information and infotainment due to high latency and high capacity. The hybrid V2X communication module supports multiple communication technologies of WAVE and LTE, in which WAVE supports multiple channels, so that it is designed to transmit road information such as LDM and positioning correction information to an autonomous vehicle in real time. The main design results presented in this paper will be applied to the implementation of future hybrid V2X communication terminals for vehicles.

It comes into the spotlight as the new Blue Ocean in which the connected car industry in which the car and mobile communication technology is convergence. All sorts of infortainments services connecting with the portable electronic device(Smart phone, tablet PC, and MP3 player) and car are rapidly grown. The Connected car emphasizes the vehicle connectivity with the concept that the car has communication with the around on a real time basis and it provides the safety and expedience to the operator and using the thing of Internet (IoT) in the car and supports the application, presently, the entertainment service including the real-time Navigation, parking assistant function, not only the remote vehicle control and management service but also Email, multimedia streaming service, SNS and with the platform. Intelligent vehicle network is studied as the kind according to MANET(Mobile Ad Hoc Network) for the safety operation of the cars of the road and improving the efficiency of the driving.

The most common communication interface for automotive electronic control devices is CAN (Controller Area Network). Sine CAN was first adopted to Daimler vehicles in 1991, all of automobile manufacturers use the CAN communication for in-vehicle networks. However, as the number of electronic control devices connected to the CAN network rapidly increases, the CAN protocol reaches the limit of technology. To overcome this limitation, Bosch introduced the new communication protocol, that is CAN-FD (Flexible Data-rate). In this paper, we analyze the characteristics and limitations of CAN-FD communication according to the topology under the in-vehicle wiring harness environment designed based on the existing classic CAN communication.

Many formation guidance laws have been proposed for VAV formation flight. Since most autonomous formation flight methods require various active communication links between the vehicles to know motion information of other vehicles, damage to the receiver or the transmitter and communication delay are critical problem to achieve a given formation flight mission. Therefore, in this point of view, the method that does not need an inter-vehicle communication is preferred in the autonomous formation flight. In this paper, we first summarize the formation guidance law without an inter-vehicle communication using feedback linearization and sliding mode control proposed in previous study. We also propose the modified formation guidance law with robust disturbance observer, which can provide significantly better performance than previously mentioned guidance law in case that other vehicles maneuver with large accelerations. The robust disturbance observer can estimate uncertainties generated by acceleration of leader vehicle. By eliminating the uncertainties using the estimated uncertainties, VAVs are able to achieve the tight formation flight. The performance of the proposed approach is validated by numerical simulations.

In the vehicle communication system, transferred information is needed to be detected as possible as fast in order to inform car status located in front and rear side. Through the moving vehicle information, we can avoid the crash caused by sudden break of front one or acquire to real time traffic data to check the detour road. To be connecting the wireless communication between the vehicles, fast timing synchronization can be a key factor. Finding out the sync point fast is able to have more marginal time to compensate the distorted signals caused by channel variance. Thus, we introduce the combination method which helps find out the start of frame quickly. It is executed by auto-correlation and cross-correlation simultaneously using only short preambles. With taking the absolute value at the implemented synch block output, the proposed method shows much better system performance to us.

Future vehicle must be both driver-friendly and able to adapt to changes in the road's conditions. The system is needed to adapt to both the driver and the circumstance for maximum convenience and safety. In order to solve these problems, this paper proposes an algorithm for developing smart vehicles. In this paper, it is simulated to compare the performance of a normal car with that of the algorithm-implemented vehicle in a potential accident. Through the computer simulation, it proved that the algorithm-implemented vehicle automatically adjusted the mirrors and seat for the maximum comfort and driver's awareness of the circumstance.
The existing DSRC(Dedicated Short Range Communication) scheme has a limitation in providing various services through short-range wireless communication. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an intelligent WAVE/DSRC hybrid wireless platform that can improve data transmission speed and extend the effective communication range. This paper introduces WAVE/DSRC integrated platform technology using WAVE(Wireless Access in Vehicle Environments) to overcome the disadvantages of DSRC. First, the desinged software configuration of the WAVE/DSRC integrated platform is described. Then each task operation scheme and WAVE software design are described. By applying the WAVE/DSRC integrated platform, we can compensate the shortcomings of DSRC. It can provide more accurate and reliable services.
