  • Bi-directional interaction between vegetation and groundwater table has a great influence on the dynamics of wetland vegetation. In this study, nonlinear dynamics of wetland vegetation affected by groundwater are analyzed. The effect on groundwater is described as a loss term in the governing equation of wetland vegetation and it is explored how the wetland vegetation is likely to converge into two attractors by groundwater table change. From this conceptual approach, the vulnerability to catastrophic shifts in stable state where the current vegetation species are extinct and stabilized by other vegetation species is analyzed in response to groundwater table.

  • The vegetation of Mt. Geum in Namhae-gun Gyeongsangnam-do was investigated by the methodology of the ZM school, from February, 2000 to May, 2002. An actural vegetation map and vegetation table were constructed to understand the distribution of plant community in this area. The vegetation in this study area was classified into 10 communities (Pinus. densiflora, P. thunbergii, Quercus acutissima, Q. serrata, Q. variablis, Q. mongolica, Styrax ja-ponica, Corylopsis coreana, Zelkova serrata and Carpinus tschonoskii) and 1 afforestation (Chamaecyparis obtusa). According to the actual vegetation map, P. thunbergii forest, Q. serrata forest and Q. mongolica forest were found at the southern slope, northern slope and the center region of Mt. Geum, respectively. The forest of P. thunbergii was widely distributed in this area.

  • The variation of groundwater by wave, tide and precipitation conditions is closely related to the vegetation environment at the natural vegetation and sandy based beach, and it has a significant impact on the vegetation development and ground stabilization. In this study, the water temperature, electrical conductivity, and pressure were monitored at five observational stations normal to the Jinu-do(Island) shoreline of Nakdong river estuary from March 2012 to September 2014 (approximately 799 days) with the aim of measuring the variation in groundwater-table characteristics. The purpose of the study was to identify factors (tide, wave etc.) affecting groundwater-table variation using time series and correlation analysis, and to record spatial variations in the groundwater level and electrical conductivity as a result of storm events. The observational station in the intertidal zone was strongly affected by wave period and tide level. During the storm period, the groundwater-table and electrical conductivity were stabilized at the edge of sand dunes, vegetation, and areas of transition between freshwater and seawater.

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the vegetation structure of the Peucedanum japonicum community by the phytosociological method of floristic composition table and cluster analysis on the southern coast of Korea. The vegetation of the Peucedanum japonicum community was classified mainly into 2 communities such as the Miscanthus sinensis community and the Lysimachia mauritiana-Rosa wichuraiana community. The Carex boottiana and Sedum oryzifolium community were classified as the lower rank of Miscanthus sinensis community. On level 1 of the cluster analysis of plant species, they were classified into Lysimachia mauritiana and Rosa wichuraiana group, also Miscanthus sinensis, Carex boottiana and Sedum oryzifolium in Peucedanum japonicum community, which is similar to the community classification shown in the synoptic table. On level 1 of the cluster analysis of relev, inland coast with Jejudo was Lysimachia mauritiana and Rosa wichuraiana of group such as level 1 of the cluster analysis of plant species, and island coast with Geomundo was Miscanthus sinensis Carex boottiana and Sedum oryzifolium of group such as cluster analysis of plant species.

  • The vegetation of Seoimal-lighthouse area was investigated from August, 2001 to July, 2002. In order to analyze the vegetation of this area, synthesis table, actual vegetation map were prepared. The main community structures of this area represent evergreen broad-leaf community(about 48%), which are very good condition(nearly last sere) to preserve and 11communities(Camellia japonica community, Castanopsis cuspidnta var. thunbergii community, Neolitsea sericea community, Quercus serrata community, Quercus variabilis community, Carpinus corenna community, Srtrax japonica community, Pinus thunbergii community, Quercus acutissima community, Zelkova serrata community, Cinnamimum japonicum community) were classified by vegetation type. And Daphne kiusiana, Asirum maculatum, Cymbidium goeringii, Chloranthus glaber, Ligularia taguetii should be worthwhile species to conserve in this area.

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the vegetation structure and ordination of the Peucedanum japonicum Thunb. community by the Phytosociological method, floristic composition table on east coast of South Korea. The vegetation of Peucedanum japonicum Thunb. community was classified into 2 communities such as the Aster Spathulifolius community and the calystegia soldanella-Artemisia princeps community. Vegetation of the Peucedanum japonicum Thunb. community with the Aster spathulifolius community was shown southward, whereas vegetation of Peucedanum japonicum Thunb. community with the calystegia soldanella-Artemisia princeps community was shown northward from the base line of Pohang at North latitude of 36" 05'. Accordingly, the Peucedanum japonicum Thunb. community was grown commonly with the Aster spathulifolius community southward of the base line of Pohang, whereas it was grown commonly with the calystegia soldanella-Artemisia princeps community northward on the east coast. All environmental conditions of habitat taken together, the optimum habitat of Peucedanum japonicum Thunb. was at Ulsan geographically and the middle region of sea cliff topography, and was suitable for alkali. sandyloam.

  • The vegetations of Hansan and Chubong islets in Tongyoungsi were investigated from April, 1997 to December, 1998 and a synthesis table was constructed. Based on the synthesis table, the vegetation was classfied into 6 communties: Pinus thunbergii community, Pinus densiflora community, Machilus thunbergii community, Chamaecyparis obtusa afforestation, Cryptomeria japonica afforestation, Miscanthus sinensis var. purpurascens community, and 3 subcommunities: Pinus thunbergii typical subcommunity, Quercus variabilis subcommunity, Carpinus coreana subcommunity. The vegetation of Pinus densiflora community around Jeseungdang area is well preserved. However the islet requirs the ecological restoration, and we suggest that the rare species such a Crypsinus hastatus, old trees of Machilus thunbergii and Pinus thunbergii, and the habitat for Machilus thunbergii and Camellia japonica must be preserved.

  • These studies had performed a plans for preservation and distribution of Ilex cormuta community Mt. Keumsung($35^{\circ}05'\;N,\;126^{\circ}04'\;E$) in Naju, Chonnam from Arpil, 1997 to October by Braun-Blanquet' method(1964). According to the vegetation table of community, the plant communities of the investigated sites were classified Ilex corunta-Trachelospermum asiaticum var. intermedium commnity. Now there still remains the natural environment to be developed in coast district around the riverside distributing Ilex cornuta Lindl., so it has scientifically high value to predict change of the ecosystem and preserve the community distribution. It needs plan for preservation high value to predict change of the ecosystem and preserve the community distribution. It needs plan for preservation

  • The actual vegetation map, community composition and vegetation structure of an isolated Evodia daniellii community due to the urbanization were investigated. At the habitat of Evodia daniellii, east cliff of Mt. Sudo, I made 30 plots of 100m$^{2}$ and adjusted 15 times the aspect of vegetation in whole growing season. On the base of these data, synoptic vegetation table was constructed. The constellation diagram by the calculation of ${\chi}$$^{2}$-value based on the vegetation data shown three vegetation groups pf Albizzia julibrissin with 10 species, Zanthoxylum shinifolium with 12 species and Ulmus parvifolia with 6 species. Through the DBH measurement of 5 major tress, we found that Ailanthus altissima, Paulownia tomentosa and Zelkova serrata are dominant in present, but it will be change by Evodia daniellii.
