The tilting trains can run on curve track about 30% faster than conventional train without affecting passenger comfort. As the tilting trains offer the optimum means of providing faster and more comfortable rail service with minimum of environmental disturbance and capital investment, it is widely adopted for commercial operation all over the world. Over several years, the Korea Railroad Research Institute(KRRI) and Ministry of Construction and Transportation(MOCT) have been developing 200 km/h Korean tilting train, Hanvit200. Hanvit200 adopts the pendulum type tilting mechanism and hybrid car body structure, mainly CFRP combined with steel. In this paper the vibrational characteristics of Hanvit200 was investigated through Eigen vector analysis, modal test and main line running test.
Recently, an output feedback variable structure control scheme(OFVSCS) is proposed to remove the assumption of full state availability and to make the application of VSC scheme to the high order systems with unmeasurable state variables possible. In this paper, a design method of an output feedback variable structure control system (IOFVSCS) that guarantees the invariance of the sliding mode against process parameter variation and external disturbance is proposed. The IOFVSCS is composed of two components; dynamic switching surface driven by measured I/0 informations and switching control input generator driven by switching surface information and measured output, where the two components are constructed by adopting unknown vector modelling approach. The invariance condition for the IOFVSCS is proved to be the same as that of the conventional VSCS. Simulation results show that the IOFVSCS can be designed to have robust properties better than that of the conventional VSCS in spite that the IOFVSCS is driven by small amount of measured information.
This work ethibits how susceptive the shear ultrasonic waves are to a little misoriented plies according to the angle variation of shear ultrasoic waves $0^\circ$ , $45^\circ$ and $90^\circ$. Also, it is shown that shear waves, particularly the transmission mode with the transmitter and receiver perpendicular to each other, have high sensitivity for detecting anomalies in fiber orientation and ply layup sequence that may occur in the manufacturing of composite laminates. Experimental results are agreed with modeling solutions which were based on decomposition of shear wave polarization vector as it propagates through the composite laminates. This wave appeared considerably to be sensitive to CFRP composites to the thickness direction along in-plane fibers.
In this study for reduction degree of freedom of dynamic model, a mixed method to combined finite element method and transfer matrix method is presented. This offers the advantages of an automatic reduction in the size of the eigenvalues problem and of a straightforward means of dynamic substructuring. The analytical procedure in this method for dynamic analysis of 3-dimensional cantilevered box beam are described. the result of numerical example is shown to demonstate the efficiency and accuracy of this method. The result form this example agree well those obtained by ANSYS, By using this technique, the number of nodes required in the regular finite element method is reduced and therefore a smaller com-puter can be used.

Recently with the development of 3D modeling and digitizing tools, more and more models have been created, which leads to the necessity of the technique of 3D mode retrieval system. In this paper we investigate a new method for 3D model retrieval based on orthogonal projections. We assume that 3D models are composed of trigonal meshes. Algorithms process first by a normalization step in which the 3D models are transformed into the canonical coordinates. Then each model is orthogonally projected onto six surfaces of the projected cube which contains it. A following step is feature extraction of the projected images which is done by Moment Invariants and Polar Radius Fourier Transform. The feature vector of each 3D model is composed of the features extracted from projected images with different weights. Our System validates that this means can distinguish 3D models effectively. Experiments show that our method performs quit well.
An active contour model, Snake, was developed as a useful segmenting and tracking tool lot rigid or non-rigid (i.e. deformable) objects by Kass in 1987 In this research, Snake is newly designed to cover this large moving case. Image flow energy is proposed to give Snake the motion information of the target object. By this image flow energy Snake's nodes can move uniformly along the direction of the target motion in spite of the existences of local minima. Furthermore, when the motion is too large to apply image flow energy to tracking, a jump mode is proposed for solving the problem. The vector used to make Snake's nodes jump to the new location can be obtained by processing the image flow. The effectiveness of the proposed Snake is confirmed by some simulations.
The present study formulates the theory of spontaneously emitted electromagnetic fluctuations in magnetized plasmas containing particles with an anisotropic suparthermal (bi-Kappa) velocity distribution function. The formalism is general applying for an arbitrary wave vector orientation and wave polarization, and for any wave-frequency range. As specific applications, the high-frequency electromagnetic fluctuations emitted in the upper-hybrid and multiple harmonic electron cyclotron frequency range are evaluated. The fluctuations for low-frequency are also applied, which include the kinetic $Alfv\acute{e}n$, fast magnetosonic/whistler, kinetic slow mode, ion Bernstein cyclotron modes, and higher-order modes. The model predictions are confirmed by a comparison with particle-in-cell simulations. The study describes how energetic particles described by kappa velocity distribution functions influence the spectrum of high and low frequency fluctuations in magnetized plasmas. The new formalism provides quantitative analysis of naturally occurring electromagnetic fluctuations, and contribute to an understanding of the electromagnetic fluctuations observed in space plasmas, where kappa-distributed particles are ubiquitous.
Far-zone electric fields radiated by a coaxial cable through an aperture in a perfectly conducting ground plane are calculated utilizing the dyadic Green's function and vector wave functions. In this paper the outer radius $\alpha$ is assumed to be less than 0.02 so that the aperture fields is well approximated by the dominant TEM mode in the coaxial cable. The result of present approach is compared with the readily obtained solution. The present solution is valid outside of the spherical regions with radius `$\alpha$' from the center of coaxial cable.
In a space vector PWM inverter, the dc input voltage is utilized to the maximum by an overmodulation technique, which is derived from Fourier series expansion of the reference phase voltage. Data angles such reference angle and holding angle are piecewise-linearized for on-line control. Harmonic components and THD of the output voltage are also analyzed. For disturbance of the dc input voltage, a smooth transition is obtained from a linear range to the six-step mode by the control angle change.
