The purpose of this study is to introduce and research the traditional Korean costume collections of Dr. McCune who was born in Pyung-Yang in 1907 and resided until her marriage to George S. McCune in about 1930. Her collections consist of three categories : children's costumes, adults' costumes, access-ories. The characteristics of collections are summorized as follows : 1. Deep wrappings are found at the front part of the top clothing when worn. The front gusset (SUB) has been dramaticaly tilted due to the difference in lengths of the top and bottom parts of the front gusset. 2. Assymetry was one of the principles of decorating Korean costumes. The assymetry were repeated at the GIT and SUB of CHOGORE with patchwork patterns. 3. Primary colors were favored in Korean costume. Hue contrast in color combinations was prefered as well, such as : yellow CHOGORE and purple blue CUFFS, a red SUN pattern matched with green embroidery. 4. Surface patterns were not so popular in Korean costumes, while the most colorful and fabulous patterns were shown through the various embroidery artifacts. Patterns were used as a way of expressing of their desires or longings in Korean costumes. The main themes of the patterns were longevity and happiness. The patterns such as peony, lotus, chrysanthemum, bamboo and bat were implying symbolism at that time. 5. Natural materials were prefered for the garments, Silk and cotton were used as the main materials of the costume collections. Studies of Korean Costume collections owned by international collectors are meaningful to boost the arena of Korean Costumes as well as fill up the vacancy left by lost costume artifacts.

Korean language has different structural properties which are controlled by semantic constraints of verbs. Also, most of Korean sentences are complex sentences which consisted of main clause and embedded clause. Therefore it is difficult to describe appropriate syntactic grammar or constraint for the Korean language and the Korean parsing causes various syntactic ambiguities. In this paper, we suggest how to describe CFG-based grammar using sentence patterns as syntactic constraint and solve syntactic ambiguities. To solve this, we classified 44 sentence patterns including complex sentences which have subordinate clause in Korean sentences and used it to reduce syntactic ambiguity. However, it is difficult to solve every syntactic ambiguity using the information of sentence patterns. So, we used semantic markers with semantic constraint. Semantic markers can be used to solve ambiguity by auxiliary particle or comitative case particle.

We propose a new algorithm to generate additional training patterns using the brain-style information processing algorithm, that is, supervised and unsupervised learning models. This will be useful in the case that we do not have enough number of training patterns because of limitation such as time consuming, economic problem, and so on. We adopt the independent component analysis as an unsupervised model for generating exempalr patterns and multilayer perceptions as supervised models for verifying usefulness of the generated patterns. After statistical analysis of the proposed pattern generation algorithm, we verify successful operations of our algorithm through simulation of handwritten digit recognition with various numbers of training patterns.
Mothers with cerebral palsy children have much stress that is related to the care of children with cerebral palsy and to other household duties, and this state of the mother has an effect on the cerebral palsy child and on other household member. Mothers in such stressful situations use various coping patterns. The purpose of this study was as follows : to develop instruments that can be used for measuring the stress and coping patterns of mothers with cerebral palsy children, and to test a hypothetical model on the relationship between the mother's stress, her coping patterns and the variable affecting the stress and coping patterns. The results of this study can be summarized as follows : 1. The stress scale was composed of 44 items and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ was .94, and the coping pattern scale was composed of 19 items and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ was .80. The mean score of stress scale was 136.12 out of a total of 220, and the mean score of the coping scale was 72.87 in a total of 95. 2. In test of the hypothetical model, it was found that extra-care demand, the support of the husband, the degree of handicap, health status and self-esteem had statistically significant influence on the mother's stress(r=.285, -.262, -.133, -.126). And the support of the husband, formal support, informal support, and economic status were found to have statitically significant influence on the mother's coping patterns(r=.412, .178, .178, .138).
Recently, there is growing interest in studying the dietary patterns that affect the risk of circulatory system diseases (CSDs). We investigated the relationship between CSDs and dietary patterns through a follow-up study in Korea (2001-2016). The participants of this study were obtained from the Korean Genome and Epidemiology Study (KoGES). This study was a large community-based cohort study (the Ansan-Ansung areas) conducted to assess the effects of various factors, especially diet, on the onset of chronic diseases among the Korean population aged 40-69 yrs. Baseline data were collected from 2001 to 2002, and follow-up studies were performed every 2 yrs, with over 7 follow-up studies performed (2015-2016). Three dietary patterns were identified using factor analysis: "vegetable and seafood (men)/soup and stew (women)" pattern, "sweet foods and breads-rice cake" pattern, and "multigrain rice and cooked white rice" pattern. None of the dietary patterns were significantly associated with the risk of CSDs in either men or women. Our follow-up study is meaningful as it investigated whether the dietary patterns of individuals according to sex affects the development of CSDs.

In this paper, we describe the analysis of inkjet-printed silver (Ag) patterns on epoxy-coated substrates according to several reliability evaluation test method guidelines for conventional printed circuit boards (PCB). To prepare patterns for the reliability analysis, various regular test patterns were created by Ag inkjet printing on flame retardant 4 (FR4) and polyimide (PI) substrates coated with epoxy for each test method. We coated the substrates with an epoxy primer layer to control the surface energy during printing of the patterns. The contact angle of the ink to the coated epoxy primer was $69^{\circ}$, and its surface energy was 18.6 $mJ/m^2$. Also, the substrate temperature was set at $70^{\circ}C$. We were able to obtain continuous line patterns by inkjet printing with a droplet spacing of $60{\mu}m$. The reliability evaluation tests included the dielectric withstanding voltage, adhesive strength, thermal shock, pressure cooker, bending, uniformity of line-width and spacing, and high-frequency transmission loss tests.
This paper suggests a method to recognize the various defect patterns of cold mill strip using binary decision tree automatically constructed by genetic algorithm. The genetic algorithm and K-means algorithm were used to select a subset of the suitable features at each node in binary decision tree. The feature subset with maximum fitness is chosen and the patterns are classified into two classes by a linear decision boundary. This process was repeated at each node until all the patterns are classified into individual classes. The final recognizer is accomplished by neural network learning of a set of standard patterns at each node. Binary decision tree classifier was applied to the recognition of the defect patterns of cold mill strip and the experimental results were given to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed scheme.

This paper presents comparison and analysis of various CFA patterns which are used in single sensor digital camera. There are several patterns which are already used, however, images are sometimes darker or brighter than what human see in real life. Also, images show some noise and blurring. To overcome this problems, many studies on the patterns have been discussed. We carry out experiment with seven patterns including the Bayer pattern. The bilinear method is selected for a interpolation method. The experimental result indicates that image quality is not affected by individual patterns and each pattern requires its own interpolation method.

The newly discovered properties of periodic nanoscale patterns have increasingly sparked research interests in various fields. Along this direction, it is worth mentioning that there had been rare studies conducted on interference exposure, a method of creating periodic patterns. Additionally, these few studies seemed to validate the existence of only exact quadrangle shapes and dot patterns. This study asserted the formation of wavy patterns associated to using multiple exposures of the ratio of the first exposure intensity to the second exposure intensity. Such patterns were designed and constructed herein via overlapping of two Gaussian beams relative to certain rotation angles, and with a submicron structure fabricated based on a 360-nm continuous-wave laser. Results confirmed that the proposed double exposure laser interference lithography is able to create circular, elliptical and wavy patterns with no need for complex optical components.
