Genome wide association studies (GWAS) identify genetic loci associated with quantitative traits in genomic selection. Although several studies have compared performance of various algorithms, no study compares them in olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus. This study compared the GWAS results of four mixed linear model (MLM) algorithms and one Fixed and random model Circulating Probability Unification (FarmCPU) algorithm in olive flounder. Considering gender and genetic association matrices as fixed and random effects, the MLM had stable performance without inflation for λ_GC (genomic inflation factor) of -log₁₀P. The FarmCPU algorithm had some appropriate λ_GC of -log₁₀P, and an upward tail was identified in quantile-quantile plots. Therefore, the models were suitable for detecting genetic variants associated with olive flounder growth traits. Moreover, significant genotypes appeared several times at chromosome 22, around which quantitative trait loci are expected to exist. Finally, in both models, some of the most genetic variants were found in genes related to growth traits, confirming their reliability. These results will be helpful when applied to the genomic selection of olive flounder growth traits in the future.

A parallel communicating automata system is an accepting device based on the communications between more automata working in parallel. It consists of several automata corking independently but communicating with each other by request. We survey several variants of parallel communicating automata systems with respect to their computational power. Other aspects like decidability and complexity matters are also briefly discussed. Some open problem sand directions for future research are finally pointed out.

In the article, we present several new Hermite-Hadamard and Hermite-Hadamard-Fejér type inequalities for the exponentially (ħ, m)-convex functions via an extended generalized Mittag-Leffler function. As applications, some variants for certain typ e of fractional integral operators are established and some remarkable special cases of our results are also have been obtained.

We propose variants of the modified incomplete Cho1esky factorization preconditioner for a symmetric positive definite (SPD) matrix. Spectral properties of these preconditioners are discussed, and then numerical results of the preconditioned CG (PCG) method using these preconditioners are provided to see the effectiveness of the preconditioners.

Given a semigroup S generated by its squares equipped with an involutive automorphism 𝝈 and a multiplicative function 𝜇 : S → ℂ such that 𝜇(x𝜎(x)) = 1 for all x ∈ S, we determine the complex-valued solutions of the following functional equations f(xy) + 𝜇(y)f(𝜎(y)x) = 2f(x)g(y), x, y ∈ S and f(xy) + 𝜇(y)f(𝜎(y)x) = 2f(y)g(x), x, y ∈ S.

We consider the transportation problem of optimizing the use of trailers and tractors. Several variants with fixed loading and unloading time are discussed. We show that the variant requiring on-time delivery can be solved in polynomial time, whereas the other variant requiring time-window delivery is NP-hard. We also discuss that if the number of loading and unloading operations assigned to each trailer or tractor is limited, even the variant requiring on-time delivery becomes NP-hard.

As a tool of measuring the irregularity of curve, fractal dimensions can be used. For an irregular function, fractional calculus are more available. However, to know its fractional differentiability which is related to its complexity is complicated one. In this paper, variants of the Hausdorff dimension and the packing dimension as well as the derivative order are defined and the relations between them are investigated so that the differentiability of fractal curve can be explained through its complexity.

Refinements of a variant of Jensen's inequality for functions with nondecreasing increments are presented. Obtained results are used to prove refinements of related variants of Cebysev's inequality and Holder's inequality.
