  • In this study an experiment was made using the function of computer simulation os to whether the phenomenon of optical illusion takes place also in clothing on the human body three-dimensional space through the case study of the Gestalt illusion of planar con-traction and expension by amodal completion in perceptual organization. One woman of latter 30s was selected as the experimental subject. She was made to wear the experimental clothing and then the frontal picture was projected of in the experimental clothing which was scanned into the com-puter. For the sake of the contractive experiment 5 stages were divided by 5-15cm the thick-nes of the black vertical line in the center of the upper garmet as the variable and for the sake of the expansive experiment the skirt length was set as the variable. It length measured 50-90cm which was divided by 10cm into 5 stages and simulated using the CAD. The basic design and the experimental de-sign were made one pair and the pictures totalled 20 pictures such as ten pictures save the human body for the estimation of the up-per garmet alone and ten pictures for the ob-servation of the effect on the human body. The extimating panel consisting of 20 panellers estimated contraction/expansion in the estimation of the upper garmet and the tall effect/the slim effect in the estimation of optical illusion as the estimating factors on the 9-point scale. All the date from experiment were analyzed by ANOVA(analysis of variance) and DUNCAN'S multiple range. As a result the experimental designs all showed a significant optical illusion in comparision with the basic design.

  • Purpose: The study was done to explore whether the duration of perioperative prophylactic antibiotics therapy influenced uncertainty of recovery in patients with elective laparoscopic uterine myomectomy. Methods: A prospective study was conducted using self-report questionnaires and electrical medical records for patients with uterine myomectomy. According to the length of the perioperative prophylactic antibiotics therapy, the patients were divided into three groups: single-dose antibiotic treatment group, short-term antibiotic treatment group, and long-term antibiotic treatment group. Data were collected from December 20, 2016 to July 31, 2017 from 161 patients who underwent laparoscopic myomectomy at a metropolitan city general hospital. Results: Level of uncertainty of recovery was $2.98{\pm}0.22$. The uncertainty was highest in the long-term antibiotic treatment group, followed by the short-term antibiotic treatment group and the single-dose antibiotic treatment group (F=89.40, p<.001). In the regression analysis, factors influencing uncertainty of recovery among uterine myomectomy patients were duration of perioperative prophylactic antibiotic therapy (${\beta}=.70$, p<.001) and duration of NPO (${\beta}=-.11$, p=.047) which explained 51.5% of the variance (F=83.75, p<.001). Conclusion: Based on these results, information including the administration of antibiotics before surgery should be provided to the patients to help reduce the uncertainty of postoperative recovery.

  • Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of midsole hardness of running shoe on muscle fatigue and impact force during distance running. Method: Ten healthy college recreational runners who were performing distance running at least three times a week participated in this experiment. They were asked to run for 15 minutes in the treadmill at 10 km/h with running shoes having three different types of midsole hardness (Soft, Medium, Hard). EMG signal and insole pressure were collected during the first and last one minute for each running trials. Data were analyzed using a one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) with repeated measures. Results: Midsole hardness did not affect the consistency of stride length. For the median frequency of the EMG signal, only VL was affected by midsole hardness; that of medium was greater than other midsoles (p<.05). The loading rate of impact forces increased by midsole hardness (p<.01). Conclusion: Although soft midsole could attenuate impact forces at heel contact, it might have a negative effect on the fatigue of muscle which could decelerate the body after heel contact. Therefore, it is necessary to select the optimum hardness of midsole carefully for both reduction impact forces and muscle fatigue.

  • Purpose: The objective of this study was to investigate mothers' perception of antibiotic use for their children. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted of a convenient sample of 210 mothers who visited the two pediatric hospitals in D city. Descriptive statistics, t-test, analysis of variance, Kruskal-Wallis test, Mann-Whitney U test, and Pearson correlation coefficients with SPSS WIN 24.0 were used to analyze the data. Results: The perception of mothers on antibiotic use for their children was relatively low (3.28/5) and showed a statistically significant difference based on the mothers' educational background (${\chi}^2=15.30$, p<.001). About 57-77% of participants discontinued or reduced the dosage of the antibiotics if their children's symptoms were relieved, and about 60% of them perceived that antibiotics treat viral infections. Mothers' adherence to specific doses of antibiotics in their children was positively correlated with their knowledge and beliefs (r=.17, p=.014) and their attitude regarding the use of antibiotics (r=.17, p=.014). Only 1.4% of the participants had educational experience regarding the correct use of antibiotics. Conclusion: Based on the results, it can be concluded that an educational program for mothers should be developed and to verify its effects in order to induce proper use of antibiotics among mothers.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the utility of the width-to-length ratio for the differentiation of ameloblastomas and odontogenic keratocysts in the body of the mandible. Materials and Methods: This study retrospectively reviewed 9 patients with ameloblastomas and 9 patients with odontogenic keratocysts using cone-beam computed tomography. The width-to-length ratio was determined by measuring the ratio between the greatest buccolingual dimension and the greatest perpendicular anteroposterior dimension of the lesion on the axial view. One-way analysis of variance was used to examine the difference in the width-to-length ratio between the 2 types of lesions. Statistical significance was tested at P<0.05. Results: Ameloblastomas showed a mean width-to-length ratio of 0.64, whereas odontogenic keratocysts showed a mean width-to-length ratio of 0.41. The cut-off value with which the 2 types of lesions were differentiated was 0.5. The width-to-length ratios of ameloblastomas were significantly higher than those of odontogenic keratocysts (P<0.05). Conclusion: The width-to-length ratio might be used to differentiate between ameloblastomas and odontogenic keratocysts.

  • This study examined the effect of Jojoba oil on the protection of virgin black hair and hair damaged by bleaching. Both hair types were treated for 35 days with 100% Jojoba oil or one of two types of hair conditioner, one formulated with 3% of Jojoba oil and the other formulated without Jojoba oil. The effect of protection was examined in terms of the change in the color, tensile stress, weight, and amount of protein leak compared to untreated black hair or bleached hair. The composition of fatty acids in the Jojoba oil was analyzed using the Gas chromatography mass spectrometry. The differences among the three treatments were statistically tested by one-way analysis of variance test and the Duncan post-hoc test at α = .05. The main fatty acid contained in the Jojoba oil was 11-eicosenoic acid (75.14%). Based on the statistical test it was found that 100% Jojoba oil was the most effective in increasing the tensile stress of black hair and the weight of bleached hair after 35 days of treatment.

  • This study aims to investigate the relationship between quality of life, activities of daily living, and depression among Korean super-aged women. In this study, the 7th (2018) data of the Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging (KLoSA) were used. The participants in this study were 363 super-aged women. The mean age was 88.67 years old. Quality of life was significantly related with Activities of daily living (ADL) (r = .34, p < .001), and depression (r = -.47, p < .001). The analysis of the hypothesized model showed a good fit to the data except for the χ2 value (χ2 = 38.8, df = 11, p < .001, CFI = .98, TLI = .96, RMSEA = 0.08). The hypothesized model explained 34% of the variance in super-aged women. The activities of daily living of elderly women had an indirect effect on quality of life via depression. Very old women with a high level of ADL were more likely to be feeling less depression, and elderly people who had less depression were likely to have a better quality of life. The findings thus highlight prevailing depression and activities of daily living as critical foci for clinical management strategies in super-aged women.

  • Rice is the world's most important food crop and a major source of nutrition for about two thirds of populations. Northern Vietnam is one of the most important centers of genetic diversity for cultivated rice. In this study, we determined the genetic diversity and population structure of 79 rice landraces collected from northern Vietnam and 19 rice accessions collected from different countries. In total, 98 rice accessions could be differentiated into japonica and indica with moderate genetic diversity and a polymorphism information content of 0.382. We also detected subspecies-specific markers to classify rice (Oryza sativa L.) into indica and japonica. Additionally, we detected five marker-trait associations and rare alleles that can be applied in future breeding programs. Most interestingly, analysis of molecular variance (AMOVA) found genetic differentiation was related to geographical regions with an overall PhiPT (analog of fixation index FST) value of 0.130. More emphasis was given to provide signatures and infer explanations about the role of geographical isolation and environmental heterogeneity in genetic differentiation among regions in landraces from northern Vietnam. Our results suggest that rice landraces in northern Vietnam have a dynamic genetic system that can create different levels of genetic differentiation among regions, but also maintain a balanced genetic diversity between regions.
