  • Factor analysis was applied to the phenotypic correlation matrix of 15 linear type traits (scored linearly 1 to 50 points) for 2035 Holstein cows of 38 sires computed from data collected between 1988 and 1992 in Beijing Shuangqiao Farm and Beijing Xijiao Farm. The 15 linear type traits were stature, body strength, body depth, dairy form, rump angle, rump length, rump width, rear leg side view, foot angle, fore udder attachment, rear udder height, rear udder width, udder cleft, udder depth and teat placement rear view. The first four components accounted for 49.1% of the total variance in type scores. Factor 1 reflected strong cows, with deep bodies, with long and wide rumps, and tall in stature. Factor 2 reflected cows with well attached fore udders, wide rear udders and whose udders were supported by strong suspensory ligaments with close teat placement. Factor 3 reflected cows with good dairyness, sickled in the hocks, high rear udders and udder floors above the hocks. Factor 4 reflected cows with sloping rumps from hooks to pins and with steep foot angle. Principal component and factor analyses are useful to clarify the relationships among type traits.

  • In this paper, we proposed new method of speech feature extraction using ICA(Independent Component Analysis) which minimized the dependency and correlation among speech signals on purpose to separate each component in the speech signal. ICA removes the repeating of data after finding the axis direction which has the greatest variance in input dimension. We verified improvement of speech recognition ability with training and recognition experiments when ICA compared with conventional mel-cepstrum features using HMM. Also, we can see that ICA dealt with the situation of recognition ability decline that is caused by environmental noise.

  • The purposes of this study were to define housewife's risk perception and risk reduction behavior when purchasing children's wear, and to identify the differences according to the clothing buying behavior and demographic characteristics. Data were gathered through survey with 429 housewives in Seoul and metropolitan area, and then statistically analyzed by descriptive statistics, factor analysis, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Duncan's test, and Pearson's correlation analysis. The results showed partially significant differences in risk perception, especially economic risk and social psychological risks, among housewife consumer groups according to the clothing buying behavior and the demographic characteristics. There were significant differences in risk reduction behaviors among the groups, especially brand preference/industry information, observation/experience, and media information. Also, correlations between risk perception and risk reduction behaviors were found. The social psychological risk perception was highly correlated to the risk reduction behaviors, while the time/convenience loss risk was not correlated to any risk reduction behavior. The results of this study provide insight into children's wear business through suggesting marketing implication.

  • This study explored the determinant variables influence of Chinese consumers' purchase intention towards products featured in Korean TV dramas vis-$\grave{a}$-vis product placement (PPL). We invited 248 Chinese adult consumers who had watched Korean TV dramas in last twelve months to participate in this survey. Data analyses were conducted by Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ reliability test, confirmatory factor analysis, t -test, analysis of variance and hierarchical multiple regression with SPSS ver. 21.0 and AMOS ver. 21.0. We chose PPL effects, product quality perceptions, and product trust as main independent variables. The empirical analysis results demonstrate that female (versus male) and frequency of (or longer time) watching dramas resulted in higher perceived consumer PPL effects, product quality, trust and purchase intention. The positive effects of the product quality and product trust on purchase intentions were confirmed. There are additional mediation effects of product quality perceptions and trust on the relationship between consumer demographic characteristics (gender), TV drama watching conditions (frequency and time) and purchase intention. This research can help Korean corporations produce effective advertising by indicating how PPL affects Chinese consumer consumption behavior. The results are useful for the Chinese government and consumer organizations to improve the domestic consumption environment by developing effective TV drama PPL policies.

  • This study investigated the extend to which the facilities satisfactorily accommodate people with different disabilities and their specific needs for improving the facilities. Systematic interviews were conducted with 90 disabled people using the non-propertionate stratified cluster random sampling method. Frequency analysis, Chi-square tests, Duncan tests, and analysis of variance(ANOVA) were employed for data analysis. The findings indicated that the respondents' assessment of accommodations and needs for improving accommodations differed by the type of disabilities. People with physical disabilities were the least satisfied with stairs, followed by seating in stadiums and/or theaters. For people with visual disabilities, the lack of guidance and information facilities was the most difficult problem. People with hearing disabilities often pointed out difficulties in using public telephones. meanwhile, people with physical disabilities asked for easy access to assistive devices and improved mobility-related circumstances. yet people with visual disabilities expected to improve way-finding relevant issues, such as detectable warnings on walking surfaces and guidance and information facilities, whereas people with hearing disabilities desired to develop hearing-aid equipments, such as TDD and assistive listening systems.

  • Background: The mandibular third molar (M3) is typically the last permanent tooth to erupt because of insufficient space and thick soft tissues covering its surface. Problems such as alveolar bone loss, development of a periodontal pocket, exposure of cementum, gingival recession, and dental caries can be found in the adjacent second molars (M2) following M3 extraction. The specific aims of the study were to assess the amount and rate of bone regeneration on the distal surface of M2 and to evaluate the aspects of bone regeneration in terms of varying degree of impaction. Methods: Four series of panoramic radiographic images were obtained from the selected cases, including images from the first visit, immediately after extraction, 6 weeks, and 6 months after extraction. ImageJ software® (NIH, USA) was used to measure linear distance from the region of interest to the distal root of the adjacent M2. Radiographic infrabony defect (RID) values were calculated from the measured radiographic bone height and cementoenamel junction with distortion compensation. Repeated measures of analysis of variance and one-way analysis of variance were conducted to analyze the statistical significant difference between RID and time, and a Spearman correlation test was conducted to assess the relationship between Pederson's difficulty index (DI) and RID. Results: A large RID (> 6 mm) can be reduced gradually and consistently over time. More than half of the samples recovered nearly to their normal healthy condition (RID ≤ 3 mm) by the 6-month follow-up. DI affected the first 6 weeks of post-extraction period and only showed a significant positive correlation with respect to the difference between baseline and final RID. Conclusions: Additional treatments on M2 for a minimum of 6 months after an M3 extraction could be recommended. Although DI may affect bone regeneration during the early healing period, further study is required to elucidate any possible factors associated with the healing process. The DI does not cause any long-term adverse effects on bone regeneration after surgical extraction.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate effect of application of $ZirLiner^{(R)}$ and blasting treatments on shear bond strength of zirconia-veneered porcelain interface. 60 uncolored zirconia plates and 30 colored zirconia plates were fabricated and divided into nine groups of 10 according to blasting treatment such as as-ground, glass blasting and alumina blasting and zirliner application. Veneering porcelains were built up over the center of the treated zirconia ceramic surface using jig and fired according to the manufacturers' instructions. Each specimen was completely embedded in acrylic resin. The specimens were placed in a mounting jig and subjected to shear force by a universal testing machine. Load was applied at a crosshead speed of 0.5㎜/min until failure. Average shear strengths were analyzed with two-way analysis of variance and one-way analysis of variance and the Duncan's post-hoc test. The fracture surfaces of the failed specimens were examined by SEM. The obtained results were as follows: 1. Depending on surface treatment by blasting, the degree of roughness is revealed in the order of Glass-blasted, As-ground, and Alumnia-blasted. The roughness average of uncolored and colored zirconia ceramic were not significantly different from blasting treatments. 2. In uncolored zirconia ceramic, the shear bond strength were not significantly different from blasting treatments. However, the shear bond strength were significantly different from Zirliner application. 3. Used ZirLiner, mean shear bond strength of colored zirconia was lower than uncolored zirconia. Especially, mean shear bond strength of colored zirconia was quite low with alumina-blasting treatment. 4. SEM analysis showed that veneered porcelain failed in zirconia ceramic interface and there was no cohesive failure.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships of social support, marital conflict, self-efficacy, and mothers' parenting stress, which are known as affecting mothers' parenting behaviors of infants a lot. To this study, We used of Korea Institute of Child Care and Education's "Panel Survey of Korea Child; 2009" data. The subjects of mothers of 11~18 months infants 1,467(M=739, F=728). In order to analyze collected data, Person correlation analysis, regression/path analysis were used. The results of the study were as follows: First, the correlations among social support, marital conflict, self-efficacy, and mothers' parenting stress were between -.475 and .401, which are all significant on the level of within p<.01. Of those the correlation between the variable of self-efficacy, and mothers' parenting stress was shown highest as of -.475. Second, the correlations among these variables and mothers' parenting behaviors of infants were between -.484 and .350(all, p<.01). Mothers' parenting stress shows the highest correlations of all, next social support, self-efficacy, marital conflict in order. Third, multiple-correlation of .533, which explains at 28.4 percentage of total variance of the mothers' parenting behaviors. And -.396 in the degree of mothers' parenting stress, which explains at 15.7 percentage of the total variance of the mothers' parenting behaviors, while .223 in social support(4.97%). But marital conflict has not direct effects but indirect effects.
