This paper proposes a novel simulation method of WPGS (Wind Power Generation System). The rotation speed control method of turbine under variable wind speed using the pitch control is proposed. Moreover, when wind speed exceeds the cut-out wind speed, the turbine will be stopped by controlling pitch angle to 90$^{\circ}$, otherwise it will be controlled to steady-state operation. For the purpose of effective simulation, the SWRW (Simulation method for WPGS using Real Weather condition) is used for the utility interactive WPGS simulation in this paper, in which those of three topics for the WPGS simulation: user-friendly method, applicability to grid-connection and the utilization of the real weather conditions, are satisfied. It is impossible to consider the real weather conditions in the WPGS simulation using the EMTP type of simulators and PSPICE, etc. External parameter of the real weather conditions is necessary to ensure the simulation accuracy. The simulation of the WPGS using the real weather conditions including components modeling of wind turbine system is achieved by introducing the interface method of a non-linear external parameter and FORTRAN using PSCAD/EMTDC in this paper. The simulation of long-term, short-term, over cut-out and under cut-out wind speeds will be peformed by the proposed simulation method effectively. The efficiency of wind power generator, power converter and flow of energy are analyzed by wind speed of the long-term simulation. The generator output and current supplied into utility can be obtained by the short-term simulation. Finally, transient-state of the WPGS can be analyzed by the simulation results of over cut-out and under cut-out wind speeds, respectively.

In this paper, the Classification of Energy Labeling has been proposed. Energy parameters of input signal which are extracted from each phoneme are labelled. And groups of labelling according to detected energies of input signals are detected. Next. DTW processes in a selected group of labeling. This leads to DTW processing faster than a previous algorithm. In this Method, because an accurate detection of parameters is necessary on the assumption in steps of a detection of speeching duration and a detection of energy parameters, variable windows which are decided by pitch period are used. A pitch period is detected firstly : next window scale is decided between 200 frames and 300 frames. The proposed method makes it possible to cancel an influence of windows and reduces the computational complexity by $25\%$.

The cooling heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ (R-744) for tube and coil diameter (CD), inclined angle of tube and coil pitch of inclined helical coil type copper tubes were investigated experimentally. The main components of the refrigerant loop are a receiver, a variable-speed pump, a mass flow meter, a pre-heater and a inclined helical coil type gas cooler (test section). The test section consists of a smooth copper tube of 2.45 and 4.55 mm inner diameter (ID). The refrigerant mass flukes were varied from 200 to 800 [$kg/m^2s$] and the inlet pressures of gas cooler were 7.5 to 10.0 [MPa]. The heat transfer coefficients of $CO_2$ in inclined helical coil tube with 2.45 mm ID are $5{\sim}10.3%$ higher than those of 4.55 mm. The heat transfer coefficients of 41.35 mm CD are $8{\sim}32.4%$ higher than those of 26.75 mm CD. Comparison between $45^{\circ}\;and\;90^{\circ}$ of coil angle, the heat transfer coefficients of $45^{\circ}$ are higher than those of $90^{\circ}$. For coil pitch of gas cooler, the heat transfer coefficients of inclined helical coil gas cooler with coil pitch of 5 mm are similar to those of 10 and 15 mm.
The main purpose of this paper is to present a simulation model for assessing the impacts of a variable speed wind turbine (VSWT) on the distribution network and perform a simulation analysis of volt-age profiles and harmonics along the wind turbine installed feeder using the presented model. The modeled wind energy conversion system consists of a fixed pitch wind turbine and a permanent-magnet synchronous generator, in which a controllable power electronics inverter performs variable speed operation and reactive power output control. Impact analysis on voltage profiles and harmonics of a VSWT-installed distribution feeder is addressed and simulated in terms of steady state and dynamic behaviors. Various capacities and different modes of variable speed wind turbines are simulated and investigated. Case studies demonstrate how feeder voltages are influenced by capacity and control modes of wind turbines and changes in wind speed under various network conditions, and show harmonic impacts on the feeder. Modeling and simulation analysis is based on PSCAD/EMTDC a software package.

Recent progress in analysis and flight simulation methods enables wider use of a virtual certification and reduces number of certification flight tests. Aerodynamic database (AeroDB) is one of the most important components for the flight simulation. It is composed of aerodynamic coefficients at a range of flight conditions and control deflections. This paper proposes and efficient method for construction of AeroDB that combines Gaussian Process based Variable Fidelity Modeling with adaptive sampling algorithm. A case study of virtual certification of a F-16 fighter is presented. Four AeroDB were constructed using different number and distribution of high-fidelity data points. The constructed database is then used to simulate gliding, short pitch, and roll response. Compliance with certification regulations is then checked. The case study demonstrates that the proposed method can significantly reduce number of high-fidelity data points while maintaining high accuracy of the simulation.
In this study comparison of experiment results with the computed results of linear theory and nonlinear theory using singularity method was obtainable. Specially singularity points like sources and vortexes on hydrofoil and freestreamline were distributed to analyze two dimensional flow field of supercavitating cascade using nonlinear theory, and governing equations of flow field were derived and hydraulic characteristics of cascade were calculated by numerical analysis of the governing equations. The results compared linear theory and nonlinear theory with the experiment results of the study are as follows: The tolerances of nonlinear theory were larger than those of linear theory in case of ${\alpha}<10^{\circ}$. Moreover the computational range of attack angles could be expanded from ${\alpha}=10^{\circ}$ to ${\alpha}=25^{\circ}$, the flow field of supercavitating cascade could be analyzed in the condition which the wake thickness and the length of cavity are a variable. The shapes of cavity were changed sensitively according to various variable such as attack angles, pitches and wake thickness, and the pressure distribution of hydrofoil surface was identical almost disregarding wake thickness but changed largely according to attack angle and the length of cavity. Lift coefficient and drag coefficient were reduced according to increasing of wake thickness but the influences of wake thickness were very little in the situation of small pitch and long cavity.

In this paper, we focus on planing avoidance control for a supercavitating underwater vehicle based on the potential function method. The planing margin can be calculated using the relative position between the cavity center and vehicle center at the end of the vehicle. The planing margin was transformed into a limit variable such as the pitch angle and yaw angle limit. To prevent the vehicle attitude from exceeding the limit variable, a potential function based planing envelope protection method was proposed. The planing envelope protection system overrides commands from the tracking controller, and the vehicle attitude converges to a desired angle, in which the potential function is minimized. Numerical simulations were performed to analyze the physical feasibility and performance of the proposed method. The results showed that the proposed methods eliminated the planing, allowing the vehicle to follow tracking commands.

A three dimensional binary parallel robot manipulator uses actuators which have only two stable states and its structure is variable geometry truss. As a result, it has a finite number of states and fault tolerant mechanism because of kinematic redundancy. This kind of robot manipulator has some advantages compared to a traditional one. Feedback control is not required, task repeatability can be very high, and finite state actuators are generally inexpensive. Because the number of states of a binary robot manipulator grows exponentially with the number of actuators it is very difficult to solve and inverse kinematic problem. The goal of this paper is to develop an efficient algorithm to solve an inverse kinematic problem of three dimensional binary parallel robot manipulator using a backbone curve when the number of actuators are too much. We first derive the coordinate transformations associated with a three degree of freedom in-parallel actuated robot manipulator. The backbone curve is generated optimally by considering the maximum roll and pitch angles of the robot manipulator configuration and length of link. Then, the robot manipulator is fitted along the backbone curve with some criterion.
EVRC (Enhanced Variable Rate Codec) has been adopted as a standard coder for the CDMA digital cellular system in North America and Korea, and known to provide good call quality at 8kbps. In this paper, fast implementation algorithms for EVRC encoder are proposed. The proposed algorithms are based on both efficient pitch detection scheme and fast fixed codebook search algorithm. In the codebook search, computational complexity is reduced down to 70% of the original EVRC by limiting the number of pulse position combination and by using a truncated impulse response. The proposed algorithms enable us to implement the EVRC with much smaller computational works. Also, informal subjective tests confirmed that the difference in the speech quality between the original EVRC and the proposed method was indistinguishable.

A performance analysis was conducted according to changes in inflow velocity and the tip speed ratio of a portable horizontal-axis hydro turbine that can be used for marine leisure sports and outdoor activities by using the commercial computational fluid dynamics software ANSYS CFX. By using the analysis result and flow field analysis, the design was reviewed and the performance of the device was confirmed. In addition, data necessary to improve the performance of the hydro turbine were acquired by performing an additional performance analysis according to the variable blade pitch angle. The results among the numerical analysis cases show that the highest performance at all inflow velocities and blade pitch angles if achieved at a tip speed ratio of 4. The output power was found to be 30 W even under some conditions below the design flow rate. Among the numerical analysis cases, the highest output power (~ 85 W) and power coefficient (~ 0.30) were observed at an inlet flow rate of 1.5 m/s, a blade pitch angle of 3°, and a tip speed ratio of 4.
