  • In order to establish the robust current controller design technique of series wound motor driver system. This paper proposes a method of compensated Bang-Bang current control using a series wound motor driver system under improperly variable load. To get minimum time torque control. A compensated Bang-Bang current controller structure is simpler than the structure of PID plus Bang-Bang controller. This paper shows that a general 8 bits microprocessor be used efficiently implementing such an algorithm. The calculation time of software is extremely small when compared with conventional PID plus Bang-Bang a controller. Both nonlinear operating characteristics of Digital switching elements and Describing Function methods are used for the analysis and synthesis. Real time implementation of compensated Bang-Bang current is achieved. Concept design strategy of the control and PWM waveform generation algorithms are presented in the paper.

  • In order to establish the design technique of the robust current controller in d.c series wound motor driver system, this paper proposes a method of the compensated Bang-Bang current control using d.c series wound motor driver system under the improperly variable load to get minimum time for the torque control. The compensated Bang-Bang current controller structure is simpler than that of PID plus Bang-Bang controller. This paper shows that a general 16 bits microprocessor is efficiently used to implement such an algorithm. The calculation time of software is extremely small when compared with that of conventional PID plus Bang-Bang controller. Both nonlinear operating characteristics of digital switching elements and describing function methods are used for the analysis and synthesis. Real-time implementation of the compensated Bang-Bang current controller is achieved. The concept of design strategy of the control and the PWM waveform generation algorithms are presented in this paper.

  • Bang-bang control law provides the optimal solution for a minimum-time control problem, but ignores the intermediate path except for the initial and final points. In this paper, a near minimum-time suboptimal fuzzy logic controller is introduced that can control the intermediate path. A dynamic model for a system is established using the average dynamics method of linearization. System model is continuously updated over the control time periods. This makes it suitable for high speed or variable payload applications. Bang-bang control theory is modified and used to derive the preliminary control law. A fuzzy logic algorithm is then applied to adjust and find the best solution. The solution will provide the suboptimal minimum-time control law which can avoid obstacles in the workspace.

  • In this paper, the optimal bang-bang control problem of an air-conditioning system with slab thermal storage was formulated by gradient method. Furthermore, the numeric solution obtained by gradient method algorithm was compared with the analytic solution obtained on the basis of maximum principle. The control variable is changed uncontinuously at the start time of thermal storage operation in an analytic solution. On the other hand, it is showed as a continuous solution in a numeric solution. The numeric solution reproduces the analytic solution when a tolerance for convergence is applied severely. It is conceivable that gradient method is effective in the analysis of the optimal bang-bang control of the large-scale system like an air-conditioning system with slab thermal storage.

적응최적시간제어를 사용한 전기로의 온도제어 (Temperature Control of Electric Furnaces using Adaptive Time Optimal Control)

  • An electric furnace, inside which desired temperatures are kept constant by generating heat, is known to be a difficult system to control and model exactly because system parameters and response delay time vary as the temperature and position are changed. In this study the heating system of ceramic drying furnaces with time-varying parameters is mathematically modeled as a second order system and control parameters are estimated by using a RIV (Recursive Instrumental-Variable) method. A modified bang-bang control with magnitude tuning is proposed in the time optimal temperature control of ceramic drying electric furnaces and its performance is experimentally verified. It is proven that temperature tracking of adaptive time optimal control using a second order model is more stable than the GPCEW (Generalized Predictive Control with Exponential Weight) and rapidly settles down by pre-estimation of the system parameters.

  • In this paper, Nonlinear VSS control based on bang-bang control concept is derived under the assumption that the control input is bounded. We try to derive control algorithm which has almost same performance as the time optimal control. We focus this control scheme on the real implementation of DC motor position controller of flexible link, i.e. we obtain the switching curves from the real data of DC motor system operating under the full maximum and minimum applied voltages. State space is separated into several regions and we set different switching surfaces in each region to reduce chattering problem. The efficiency of the proposed controller is compared with PID controller and it is shown that the controller converges fast than PID controller without chattering. The hybrid controller scheme is also proposed not only to control the position of hub but also to reduce the vibration of end tip of flexible link.

  • This paper presents the design of a now controller for the read/write head of a hard disk drive. The general controller for seeking is the time-optimal control. However if we use only the time optimal control law, this could be vulnerable to chattering effect. To solve this problem, we propose a modified controller design algorithm in this paper. The proposed controller consists of bang-bang control for seeking and sliding-mode control for tracking. Moreover, to test the robustness and stability of control system, a bounded disturbance is selected to maximize a severity index. Simulation results show the superiority of the proposed controller through comparison with time optimal VSC(variable structure control).

  • 수동형 진동제어 방식과 같이 시스템이 안정되며, 수동형에 비해 높은 제진 효과가 기대되는 반능동 진동제어 방식은 시스템의 안정화가 요구되는 우주구조물의 제진방법에 유효한 진동제어 방식중 하나이다. On-Off 제어방식에 근거한 반능동 제어는 On-Off 스위칭 시에 전달력의 불연속성으로 인한 chattering을 발생시킬 수 있으며, 이는 탑재체 구조물의 고유진동수와의 커플링으로 인하여 지향성능을 저하시키는 원인으로 작용할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 chattering 영향 최소화를 통한 지향성능향상을 목적으로 LQ(Linear Quadratic)이론에 기반한 가변 감쇠형 반능동 제어기법을 제안하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과는 본 논문에서 제안한 반능동 제어기법은 기존의 skyhook와 LQ를 기반으로 하는 Bang-Bang 반능동 제어기법과 비교하여 높은 진동절연 성능을 나타내고 있다.
