This study was performed to investigate the serum lipid and cholesterol lowering effects of kimchi powder or Lactobacillus plantarum when added to fermented sausage in rats. Male SD (Sprague-Dawley) rats were divided in three groups and administered with the following diets for 6 wk: non-fermented sausage added diets (CON), kimchi fermented sausage added diets (KIM), and Lactobacillus plantarum fermented sausage added diets (PLA). The CON has significantly (p<0.05) higher food intake, body weight gains, and final body weight than the other two groups. The body weight of KIM was significantly (p<0.05) lower than that of the other groups. The weights of organs (heart, lung, liver, kidney, spleen, perirenal adipose tissue, and epididymal adipose tissue) were not affected by any treatments. The mean value of serum triglycerides (TG) concentration in KIM and PLA groups was not significantly different compared with CON. Total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein and high density lipoprotein levels in serum of KIM were significantly (p<0.05) lower than those of CON. The serum free cholesterol level and atherogenic index (AI) in KIM and PLA were significantly (p<0.05) lower than those of CON. In conclusion, dietary supplementations with kimchi powder fermented sausages or L. plantarum fermented sausages were effective for lowering serum lipid, cholesterol levels and atherogenic index in rats.

In this paper, we proposed the directional coupler using two layer microstrip substrate which is improved coupling and isolation. Modified two-layer directional coupler is the structure which is added to the one-layer on the signal line and located the floating conductor on the added layer. Also, we applied the aperture on the ground plane in order to enhancing the coupling value, and located the conductor in order to enhancing the isolation and VSWR according to S$_{11}$. As a result, proposed two-layer directional coupler has about 2 dB more higher coupling and 20 dB more higher isolation than conventional couplerer

There is no reference grasp only embedded SW market because embedded SW is built in SW production. In this paper, In order to know only embedded SW market, we used estimation method size of the amount of production. We draw suitable industry cluster structure of embedded SW market estimation. As we estimated size of embedded SW market by industry cluster. And, We calculated importance of embedded SW by industry cluster and finally we estimated size of embedded SW market. Result of estimation, added values of embedded SW estimated about 27 trillion.

Currently, image processing has been widely utilized and the noise may be occurred in the processes of image data transmission, processing, and storage. The studies have been actively conducted to eliminate the added noise in the image. The types of noise in the image are various depending on the causes and the forms, and additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) is the representative one. The algorithm to apply and process the weighted value was suggested by the directions of the pixel in the local mask using edge detection to relieve the added AWGN in the image in this article.

In superscalar processors, value prediction is a technique that breaks true data dependences by predicting the outcome of an instruction in order to exploit instruction level parallelism(ILP). A value predictor looks up the prediction table for the prediction value of an instruction in the instruction fetch stage, and updates with the prediction result and the resolved value after the execution of the instruction for the next prediction. However, as the instruction fetch and issue rates are increased, the same instruction is likely to fetch again before is has been updated in the predictor. Hence, the predictor looks up the stale value in the table and this mostly will cause incorrect value predictions. In this paper, a stride value predictor with the capability of speculative updates, which can update the prediction table speculatively without waiting until the instruction has been completed, is proposed. Also, the performance of the scheme is examined using Simplescalar simulator for SPECint95 benchmarks in which our value predictor is added.

This paper suggests a contingent perspective for analyzing information systems issues of the Korean firms. The contingent perspective includes such corporate characteristics as industry, organizational size, strategy, and value-added application function. This research surveyed 119 corporations in manufacturing, banking, distribution, and construction industries. Among those samples 104 data of corporate IS managers turned out to be statistically valid. As a result, those issues are ranked as the most urgent and important IS issues: strategic IS planning, system integration, application of database, process standardization, and network planning and implementation. Furthermore, factor analysis says that thirty issues to be surveyed are to be grouped into seven factors such as IS planning, user/education, database, applications of IT, system management, distributed computing technology, and network applications. It also found through Pearson correlation and ANOVA that organizational characteristics highly influences the IS issues the corporations face.

A venture business plays important roles in the economy of a developing nation. It makes highly value-added product, increases employment and improves the industry structure. The objective of this study is to derive the financial and non-financial characteristics from venture businesses, which determine a highly successful business group or a less successful business group. The firm characteristics are composed of 21 financial(liquidity, leverage, cash flow, activity, productivity, and etc) and 34 non-financial characteristics(manager, technology, marketability and credibility variables), which have been considered as the key characteristics for venture business by the existing literature. All financial ratios and non-financial characters play a role of making discriminations between a highly successful and a less successful group. Because there are not generally accepted definitions, classifying a highly successful and a less successful venture business is a very difficult problem. Operational definitions have many problems but we have no choice in current stage.

The progress of information technology triggered the rapid progress of tourism industry and the industry has now grown to be the biggest and the highest value added producing industry. Tourism industry is characterized by its high information dependency and is subject to the frequent changes of schedule. Therefore, dynamic cooperations between the service provider and the service agent is essential. One of the latest trend in information technology is the popular adoption of XML as the standard means of document exchange in the internet environment. This paper proposes a supply chain management system which enhances the productivity and customer satisfaction in the tourism industry by exploiting the exchange of information in XML among the tourism society, which consists of the producer, the agents, and the consumer. This Paper is especially addressed to the applicability of e-SCM for the productivity enhancement in the tourism industry, which is known as the leading service industry in the internet environment.

Internet of things (IoT) is based on a global dynamic information network with cloud services where a great number of devices (things) exchange data to provide added-value services and products. There are several commercial and open source IoT platforms available in the market to connect devices to internet; however, they have cost and operational constraints that make them not suitable for academic projects. In this work, an IoT platform, known as Novus-io, is introduced in order to support academic projects for undergraduate students. With this platform and proper training, undergraduate students from different majors (not only from information technology and electronics) are capable to upgrade their school projects with IoT functionalities. The objective of this approach is to provide to any undergraduate student skills and knowledge on IoT, so they will be prepared, in their imminent step toward professionalism, to understand the relevance of digital services in today's world.
