  • Many clustering algorithms and cluster validation techniques for high-dimensional gene expression data have been suggested. The evaluations of these cluster validation techniques have, however, seldom been implemented. In this paper we compared various cluster validity indices for low-dimensional simulation data and real gene expression data, and found that Dunn's index is the most effective and robust, Silhouette index is next and Davies-Bouldin index is the bottom among the internal measures. Jaccard index is much more effective than Goodman-Kruskal index and adjusted Rand index among the external measures.

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to develop and validate a coparenting scales(mother's version) suitable for the Korean situation. Methods: In this study, mothers with one or more children were targeted. First, factor structure and construct validity were verified(N=412), and second, cross-validation and concurrent validity were verified(N=312). Results: The coparenting scale(mother's version) is largely composed of the mother's own coparenting and their spouse's coparenting. First, as a result of performing an exploratory factor analysis, three factors were extracted from the mother's own coparenting and their spouse's coparenting, and they were labeled parenting cooperation, parenting agreement, and parenting sharing. Through confirmatory factor analysis, 13 items were identified with three factors. Second, cross-validation was performed on a new group with confirmatory factor analysis, and as a result, validity was secured by satisfying the model validation criteria. In addition, the correlation between the existing scale and parenting efficacy was significant, thus securing concurrent validity. Conclusion/Implications: Through this study, the coparenting scale(mother's version) that was developed may provide practical guidelines for family coparenting by identifying mothers' perceptions of coparenting, and can be used in parent education and child-rearing policies.

  • In this paper, we proposed verification methods to prove the effectiveness of automatic test equipment (ATE) for weapon systems. Since the test results from the unproven ATE is not reliable and its use is limited as objective data, it is essential to verify the test equipment in order to guarantee the quality level of the unit under test (UUT). Through the suggested methods, it is applied to the ATE of the tactical information communications network (TICN) system to confirm the verification results and to describe the validation results.

  • Objectives: This study was performed to evaluate the analytical method for PAH metabolites in human urine using enzyme hydrolysis and solid-phase extraction coupled with LC-(ESI)-MS/MS technique. Methods: We employed HPLC tandem mass spectrometry techniques with appropriate pre-treatment for analysis of 16 OH-PAHs in human urine. Samples were hydrolysis by ${\beta}$-flucuronidase/Aryl sulfatase, and target compounds were extracted by solid-phase extraction with a strata-x cartridge. Cross-validation was performed between Eulji University and Green Cross laboratories with 200 human urine samples. Results: The accuracies were between 90.3% and 118.8%, and precisions (relative standard deviations) were lower than 10%. The linearity obtained was satisfying for the 16 OH-PAH compounds, with a coefficient of determination ($r^2$) higher than 0.99. The results of cross-validation at the two organizations were compared by ICC (interclass correlation coefficient) values. The cross-validation results were excellent or good for all compounds. Conclusion: An analytical method was validated for low nanogram levels of 16 OH-PAHs in human urine. Also, satisfying results were obtained for method validation such as accuracy, precision and ICC of cross-validation.

  • The validation of a simulation model is a key to demonstrate that the simulation model is reliable. However, among various validation methods have been introduced, it is very poor to research the specific techniques for the time series data. Therefore, this paper suggests the methodology to verify the simulation using the time series data by Wavelet Transform, Power Spectrum and Coherence. This method performs 2 steps as followed. Firstly, we get spectrum using the Wavelet transform available for non-periodic signal separation. Secondly, we compare 2 patterns of output data from simulation model and actual system by Coherence Analysis. As a result of comparing it with other validation techniques, the suggested way can judge simulation model accuracy more clearly. By this way, we can make it possible to perform the simulation validation test under various situations using detailed sectional validation method, which has been impossible using a single statistics for the whole model.

  • As various accidents have occurred in underground spaces, we aim to improve the quality validation standards and methods as specified in the Regulations on Producing Integrated Map of Underground Spaces devised by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea for a high-quality integrated map of underground spaces. Specifically, we propose measures to improve the quality assurance of pipeline-type underground facilities, the so-called life lines given their importance for citizens' daily activities and their highest risk of accident among the 16 types of underground facilities. After implementing quality validation software based on the developed quality validation standards, the adequacy of the validation standards was demonstrated by testing using data from two-dimensional water supply facilities in some areas of Busan, Korea. This paper has great significance in that it has laid the foundation for reducing the time and manpower required for data quality inspection and improving data quality reliability by improving current quality validation standards and developing technologies that can automatically extract errors through software.

  • This paper deals with the estimations of kernel ridge regression when the responses are subject to randomly right censoring. The iterative reweighted least squares(IRWLS) procedure is employed to treat censored observations. The hyperparameters of model which affect the performance of the proposed procedure are selected by a generalized cross validation(GCV) function. Experimental results are then presented which indicate the performance of the proposed procedure.

  • This paper consider penalized likelihood regression with data from exponential family. The fast computation method applied to Gaussian data(Kim and Gu, 2004) is extended to non Gaussian data through asymptotically efficient low dimensional approximations and corresponding algorithm is proposed. Also smoothing parameter selection is explored for various exponential families, which extends the existing cross validation method of Xiang and Wahba evaluated only with Bernoulli data.

  • We have developed a catenary-pantograph dynamic simulation program by using the finite element method and verified the accuracy according to the EN 50319. During the validation process, we have reviewed which the time integration methods is proper for this application. among the Newmark method, Wilson theta method and alpha method. We conclude that the alpha method is the best in terms of computation time and accuracy.
