The purpose of this study is to construct the fundamental data for setting a valid viewpoint as the base of landscape planning and management practices. To do this, we analyzed the preceding dissertations and landscape plan reports which presented the selection criteria of viewpoint. 37 research samples containing the criteria of viewpoint were investigated. The selection criteria and trends of viewpoint were analyzed as follows : Firstly, by analyzing the preceding researches we were able to grasp the criteria that had been used to set viewpoint. Secondly, we investigated the differences in criteria of selecting the viewpoint according to the research type, research time and view object. Finally, we analyzed the trends of viewpoint selection criteria and classified the characteristics and selection criteria of viewpoint based on an overview of the research content. It can be concluded that the criteria of viewpoint are intimately linked to the view object, the purpose and role of viewpoint which is related to the landscape planning and management practices. According to this study, we can find that the selection criteria and trends of viewpoint have been used in the research related to the view plane following the 1990's. Hereafter, additional research and the comparisons with researches abroad is necessary to set the objective selection criteria of viewpoint.

In structural optimization, static loads are generally utilized although real external forces are dynamic. Dynamic loads have been considered in only small-scale problems. Recently, an algorithm for dynamic response optimization using transformation of dynamic loads into equivalent static loads has been proposed. The transformation is conducted to match the displacement fields from dynamic and static analyses. The algorithm can be applied to large-scale problems. However, the application has been limited to size optimization. The present study applies the algorithm to shape optimization. Because the number of degrees of freedom of finite element models is usually very large in shape optimization, it is difficult to conduct dynamic response optimization with the conventional methods that directly threat dynamic response in the time domain. The optimization process is carried out via interfacing an optimization system and an analysis system for structural dynamics. Various examples are solved to verify the algorithm. The results are compared to the results from static loads. It is found that the algorithm using static loads transformed from dynamic loads based on displacement is valid even for very large-scale problems such as shape optimization.

The Standard Elementary Certificate, High School Certificate, and Special Certificate are valid for four years for teaching. These certificates may be issued to graduates with a bachelor's degree from a recognized college who have successfully completed the required certification examinations and who present certified evidence of having earned credits. All individuals receiving certificates must be of good character and in good health, and be at least 19 years of age and a citizen of the United States or legally present and authorized for employment.
In epigraph field to study ancient scripts, alternative readability improvement technologies have been developed to replace existing rubbing method which has low resolution and causes surface pollution of heritages from the viewpoints of extraction process and used materials. Recently many methods which are based on analysis of pixel data for extracting outlines of the specific image have been developed with advancement of image processing techniques. But these methods are not applicable and the results are not satisfied in the damaged inscriptions which are weathered by wind and rain for a long time and in the narrowed one. In this paper laser scanning techniques which uses optical triangulation measurement principle are developed to minimize scanning error. The proposed techniques are consisted of 3 parts:(1) the understanding of optical triangulation measurement principle to find scanning guideline (2) determinations of points interval, scanning distance and scanning angle to guarantee scanning data quality (3) identification of valid point data area which will be used in registration process. The proposed character identification method contributed in decoding an ancient inscription on SeukBingGo in Kyungju.
The tendencies for teleconnection with a time lag and other characteristics of Korean summer droughts have been investigated and some clues to predict the drought occurrences several months before have been found. First, the May and June droughts in Korea are simultaneous with those over the northwestern part of Korea owing to the relation with the baroclinic wave. However, the July and August droughts occur over the mid-latitudes or southern part of Korea owing to the relation with the Changma front. Second, several months before the MJJA droughts in Korea, it is found that the effective drought index (EDI) over particular areas (hereafter, referred to as the omen areas) is large. Thailand, Carolina Island, Mongolia, and Central Bengal Bay were selected as the omen areas. Third, when the monthly minimum EDI (MME) of the omen area in winter is more than 0.7, it signifies that the precipitation is above normal, Korea has almost always experienced a summer drought. However, the droughts occurring with this type of relationship only represent half of the MJJA droughts in Korea. Fourth, the relationships between the Korean drought and the precipitation over omen areas in low latitudes are not valid over all the eight precipitation areas in Korea, but only over Areas I, II, and III, where heavy rains occur during spring and summer.

This research aims to study the new paradigm of NDE measurement which allows the identification of defect locations and sizes of a certain structure by measuring its surface temperature after applying heat. STS which has a certain defect is applied by the heat of 70000W by a heater. Its difference of STS surface temperature is measured by using Infrared thermography. The estimated result of STS experiment and that of theoretical analysis of Flex-PDE are compared and analyzed to diagnose STS defect. Moreover, this study can save time and money and improve accuracy in contrast to the existing ultrasonic NDE experiment. In addition, the new paradigm of NDT/NDE by reverse-engineering will be valid if the data of thermal analysis and temperature distribution from the specifications of many materials is accumulated and verified.
This study investigates the controversial chickens-eggs dilemma and empirically performs statistical tests to examine if there exists a causality between them. Granger and Hsiao tests are applied to both level and stationary variables to identify the lead-lag relationships. Each of these test is found to have the robust result where the causality runs from eggs to chickens; in addition, the explanatory power of one variable in variations of the other appears to remain time invariant. The outcome is proved to be valid as the hypothesis test for no structural change in their relationship fails to be rejected.

PURPOSE: In this study investigated the thermal effect in tissue mimicking phantom by the material of the ultrasonic transducer in low intensity sonication. METHODS: The material of the ultrasonic transducer was made of ceramic, stainless steel, aluminum. Korea Testing Laboratory was measured of the three kinds of materials the total output of the ultrasonic transducer. Each material was measured core temperature and the actual output depending on the type of transducer. Agarose tissue mimicking phantom and silicone tissue mimicking phantom was made. Transducers made of three kinds of materials were emitted in the phantom. It is shown as a graph about time and temperature and the surface temperature rising speed and deep temperature rise rate was investigated. RESULTS: Ceramic transducers were highest output. Higher than the stainless steel transducer, aluminum had the lowest total output. Deep temperature was the highest in the ceramic transducer, and the surface temperature was the highest in the stainless steel transducer. Thermal images of ceramic transducer showed that a valid output is formed deeper wider than the metal. CONCLUSION: Ceramic transducer is confirmed the excellence than the metal transducer in deep thermal effect and the actual output of the ultrasound.

Enzymatic hydrolysis of shark (Squatina oculata) cartilage (SC) was optimized by response surface methodology (RSM) for chondroitin sulfate (CS) preparation. Among 11 commercial proteases, Maxazyme NNP showed highest productivity (CS yield per enzyme cost) of CS. Optimal hydrolysis conditions determined by RSM were 1.63% and 2.87 hr for enzyme concentration and hydrolysis time ($r^2\;=\;0.9527$, p<0.0l), respectively and highest yield of hydrolysate under the conditions was 42.3%. The yield ($43.1{\pm}2.1%$) and CS content ($24.8{\pm}0.1%$) of hydrolysate at optimal condition verified statistical optimization of SC enzymatic hydrolysis was valid.

Model verification and validation (V&V) is a current research topic to build computational models with high predictive capability by addressing the general concepts, processes and statistical techniques. The hypothesis test for validity check is one of the model validation techniques and gives a guideline to evaluate the validity of a computational model when limited experimental data only exist due to restricted test resources (e.g., time and budget). The hypothesis test for validity check mainly employ Type I error, the risk of rejecting the valid computational model, for the validity evaluation since quantification of Type II error is not feasible for model validation. However, Type II error, the risk of accepting invalid computational model, should be importantly considered for an engineered products having high risk on predicted results. This paper proposes a technique named as the response-adaptive experimental design to reduce Type II error by adaptively designing experimental conditions for the validation experiment. A tire tread block problem and a numerical example are employed to show the effectiveness of the response-adaptive experimental design for the validity evaluation.
