EFFECTS OF PLACEMENT OF A TORUS PLATE COVER ON AIR FLOW IN A SPINNER EQUIPMENT (원환형 덮개장착이 스피너 장비의 기류에 미치는 영향)

  • A numerical investigation is made of air flow in a spinner equipment used for cleanning and drying flat display panels. A unique feature of the spinner under question is the placement of a torus plate cover over the rotating plate. The turbulent flow is driven by rotation of a large disk and suction by the exhaust system connected to vacuum chamber. The flow is modelled as an axisymmetric two-dimensional flow and computation is conducted by using the FLUENT package with a version of k-$\varepsilon$ turbulence model. The required capacity of the exhaust system is assessed numerically. The usefulness of the cover in controlling air flow circulation is examined. A computational trouble shooting is attempted to resolve the problem of panel rising which occurred in real experiment.

  • A numerical model is employed for design of a spinner device to dry the 5-th generation LCD glass panel. The turbulent flow in a spinner is driven by rotation of a large disk and suction by the exhaust system connected to vacuum chamber, which is simulated by using the FLUENT package. Based on numerical simulation, the required capacity of exhaust system is assessed. The effects of the presence of cover on the flow characteristics are examined. A computational trouble shooting is attempted to resolve the problem of panel rising which occurred in real experiments.

Development of Unmanned Cleaning Robot for Photovoltaic Panels (태양광발전시설 무인 유지보수 로봇 개발)

  • This paper describes the results of a study on the unmanned maintenance robot that simultaneously performs the cleaning and inspection of the photovoltaic panels. The robot has a special adsorptive device, an infrared sensor, a vacuum level sensor and a camera. The robot uses two SSC (Sliding Suction Cup) adsorptive devices to move up and down the slope. First, the forces generated when the robot moves up the slope are mechanically analyzed, and the required design and control of the adsorption system are suggested. The robot was designed and manufactured to operate stably by using the presented results. Next, the normal force between the panel and the wheel was measured to confirm that the robot was manufactured and operated as intended, and the robot motion was tested on the inclined panel. It has been proven that robots are well designed and built to clean and inspect sloped panels.

  • The vacuum cleaner motor runs at very high speed for suction power. Specially, motor power is provided by the impeller being rotated at very high speed. The centrifugal fan consists of the impeller, the diffuser, and the circular casing. Due to the high rotating speed of the impeller and small gap distance between the impeller and the diffuser, the level of noise in the centrifugal fan is at BPF(Blade Passage Frequency) and its harmonic frequencies. In order to calculate the sound pressure of centrifugal fan, unsteady flow data are needed. The cause of noise is obtained by dividing the fluid noise by exhaust flow of fan and vibration noise by rotational vibration of vacuum cleaner fan motor. Until now, an accelerometer has been used to measure vibration. However, it can not measure vibration in some parts of brush and commutator because of motor construction and 3-D vibrating mode. This study was conducted to perform accurate analysis of vibration and aerodynamic sound for fan motor in a vacuum cleaner using a laser vibration analyzer. A silent fan motor can be designed using the data measured in this study.

CFD Analysis on the Flow Characteristics of Ejector According to the Position Changes of Driving Nozzle for F.W.G (수치해석을 이용한 담수장치용 이젝터의 노즐위치 변화에 따른 이젝터 유동특성 연구)

  • In this study, the ejector design was modeled using Fluent 6.3 of FVM(Finite Volume Method) CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) techniques to resolve the flow dynamics in the ejector. A vacuum system with the ejector has been widely used because of its simple construction and easy maintenance. Ejector is the main part of the desalination system, of which designs determine the efficiency of system. The effects of the ejector was investigated geometry and the operating conditions in the hydraulic characteristics. The ejector consists mainly of a nozzle, suction chamber, mixing tube (throat), diffuser and draft tube. Liquid is supplied to the ejector nozzle, the fast liquid jet produced by the nozzle entrains and the non condensable gas was sucked into the mixing tube. The multiphase CFD modeling was carried out to determine the hydrodynamic characteristics of seawater-air ejector. Condition of the simulation was varied in entrance mass flow rate (1kg/s, 1.5kg/s, 2kg/s, 2.5kg/s, 3kg/s), and position of driving nozzle was located from the central axis of the suction at -10mm, 0mm, 10mm, 20mm, 30mm.. Asaresult, suction flow velocity has the highest value in central axis of the suction.

  • In this study, performance and environmental characteristics of cyclone vacuum cleaners are analyzed and product improvement methods are investigated to minimize environmental effect of the cleaners using the result. A simplified LCA method is used to analyze environmental characteristics of the cyclone vacuum cleaners. Two cyclone vacuum cleaners with similar specifications are chosen for the experiment. Typical characteristics of cyclone vacuum cleaners such as energy consumption, suction force, noise and temperature are measured and compared. Most environmental effect was caused by the energy consumption in use phase of life cycle. Some ideas are created to reduce energy consumption of the vacuum cleaners in use phase like installing baffle, and methods to extend exchange period of filter. It is analyzed how recyclability rate of vacuum cleaners could be improved to reduce the environmental effect in whole life of the vacuum cleaners.

Until now, measuring method has been used to measure vibration by the accelerometer; this method has been not measured for the vibration in some parts of brush and commutator because of motor construction and 3-D vibrating mode. This paper was purposed on the accurate analysis, using laser vibration analyzer,. By using this measured data of noise cause against the difficult part in old times, we would like to use for the design of silent fan motor.

  • 밭작물 중 마늘 재배를 위한 노동력 투입시간은 2016년 기준 10a 당 126.9시간 이었고, 파종정식의 기계화율은 2015년 기준 15.1%로 조사된다. 이는 마늘 재배에 있어서 파종정식의 기계화가 노동력 절감을 위해 필요하다는 것을 보여준다. 현재의 우리나라 마늘 파종기는 점파식으로 개발, 판매되고 있는데 집개 방식 또는 버킷 방식은 파종 속도를 올리면 파종율이 떨어지기 때문에 파종 속도를 향상시키는데 한계가 있있다. 본 연구에서는 이를 보완하기 위하여 콩, 옥수수 등의 종자에 사용되는 진공식 파종 기술을 마늘에 적용하였다. 마늘의 경우 형상이 비대칭형에다가 종구별 크기, 모양, 무게가 조금씩 다르기 때문에 이론적으로 흡입구를 설계하는 어려움이 있다. 따라서 진공흡입구의 지름과 재질을 파라메터로 하여 변화를 주고 실험을 통하여 배종률 결과의 차이를 확인하였다. 그 결과 경도 $10{\pm}2$의 실리콘 재질에 지름 14mm이상에서 90%이상의 높은 배종률을 보여주었다.

An Experimental Study on the Smoke Filtration System of Suction Type of Exhaustic Gas using Vaccum (부압을 이용한 배기 흡입형 매연여과장치에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • Over the past years, many research works have been carried out to investigate the factors which govern the performance of diesel engine. The air pollutant emission from the diesel engine is still a significant environmental concern in many countries. In the present study, new system of smoke filtration of diesel engine is proposed. This new system is using vacuum equipment and filter for capture smoke. To verification new system experiments are performed at diesel vehicle and engine dynamometer. As a result it is founded that smoke is decreased of 67% at vehicle test and decrease of 45.2% at full load condition of engine dynamometer test.
