Intercomparison of National High Vacuum Standards Between Korea and Italy (한국 KRISS와 이태리 IMGC간의 고진공 국가표준의 국제비교)

  • Spinning Rotor Gauge(SRG)를 전달표준기(transfer standard gauge)로 사용하여 한국표준과학연구원(KRISS)의 고진공표준과 이태리 표준연구소인 IMGC(Istituto 야 Metrologia Gustavo Colonnetti)고진공표준의 국제비교를 실시하였다. 그 방법은 SRG의 accommodation coefficient(s)를 각 연구실의 고진공표준기로 측정하여 그 결과를 비교하였다. 이 결과 두 기관에서 교정한 SRG 볼의 $\sigma$값의 평균차이는 0.696%로서 양국의 고진공표준은 오차범위내에서 일치하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • The drying rate in freeze drying was obtained by experiment of garlic moisture contents depending on the drying time. Freeze drying experiment of garlic juice was carried out in vaccum freeze drier of laboratory scale by backface heating, and a mathematical model is also used to simulate the process of simultaneous heat and mass transfer in freeze drying to compare with experimental data.

Preperation of Carbon Fiber from Acetosolve Lignin (Acetosolve Lignin으로부터 Carbon Fiber의 제조)

  • Lignin viscous material was prepared from acetosolve lignin by phenolation and heat treatment. The yield of phenolation was about 160% with p-toluene sulfonic acid(2% of acetosolve lignin) as catalyzer. Phenolated lignin has a good spinnability and thermosetting property by $300^{\circ}C$ treatment with vaccum. Acetosolve lignin carbon fiber has $20{\pm}5$ m diameter and $68.2{\pm}10\;kg/mm^2$ tensile strength. The yield of carbon fiber based on acetosolve lignin was 31%.

  • 본 연구에서는 기존의 로터리 방식이나 플래시 방식 등의 직접열에 의한 건조방식이 2차 공해 유발 및 폭발이나 화재의 위험을 항상 내포하는 등 여러 가지 단점이 있으므로 이러한 문제점을 연속 감압식 간접열 방식의 건조장치를 개발하여 근원적으로 해결하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 목표는 50kg/hr용량의 연속 감압식 간접열 방식의 디스크 건조장치를 개발하여 건조효율을 70$\%$ 이상 향상시키며(기존의 제품은 50$\%$

  • The GaAs bulk single crystals are grown by the Horizontal Bridgman method. During the growth, one of the problems in Bridgman method is the boat wetting between GaAs molten and silica boat. This boat wetting may result in another nucleation to form twin crystals. In this study, We find that the optimal size for sand blasting is 320 mesh. Backfilling the ampoule with argon gas during the vaccum bake-out decreaes the boat wetting. The reaction mechanism of Ga with quartz to produce suboxide, Ga2O, and sillion is discussed.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine how can we keep the freshness of peeled chestnuts in distribution process. The 30 minutes impregnation treatment at the preservation solution of 0.3% consistency showed a good result. The solution treatment prevented from surface yellowing and quality degradation of peeled chestnuts. And, in vaccum packaging after treating chemicals surface drying was faster than the other packaging from 7th day. A vitamin C treatment was no effective to restrain the growth of microbials.

  • Al-42wt%Nb powder was prepared by high-energy mechanical milling(HEMM). The particle size, phase transformation and microstructure of the as-milled powder were investigated by particle size distribution (PSD) analyzer, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffractometery (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM)and differential thermal analysis (DTA). The milled powders were heated to a sintering temperature at 1000C with under vaccum with vaccum tube furnace. Microstructural examination of sintered Ti-42wt%Nb alloy using 4h-milled powder showed Ti-rich phases (${\alpha}$-Ti) which are fine and homogeneously distributed in the matrix (Nb-rich phase: ${\beta}$-Ti). The sintered Ti-42wt%Nb alloy with milled powder showed higher hardness. The microstructure of the as quenched specimens fabricated by sintering using mixed and milled powder almost are same, but the hardness of as quenched specimen fabricated by using mixed powder increased due to solution hardening of Nb in Ti matrix. The aging effect of these specimens on microstructural change and hardening is not prominent.
