비디오 측정 시스템을 위한 효율적인 자동 초점 조절 알고리즘 (An Efficient Auto-focusing Algorithm for Video Measuring System)

  • 수동형 초점 조절 방식은 카메라를 통해 입력된 영상들을 분석하여 초점을 조절한다. 본 논문에서는 카메라를 이용한 정밀 측정 장비에 효율적으로 적용할 수 있는 수동형 자동 초점 조절 알고리즘을 제안한다. 영상에서 초점값 계산 알고리즘으로 가우시안 필터와 변형된 라플라시안 연산자를 사용한 SMLoG(Sum Modified Laplacian of Gaussian) 방법을 적용하고 초점값들을 이용한 정초점 위치 검색방법으로 가우시안 곡선 정합을 이용한다. 다양한 조명과 대상에 대하여 실험한 결과를 기존의 방법들과 비교하여 제안된 방법의 정확성과 효율성을 검증하였다.

An Anti-Overload Model for OpenStack Based on an Effective Dynamic Migration

  • As an emerging technology, cloud computing is a revolution in information technology that attracts significant attention from both public and private sectors. In this paper, we proposed a dynamic approach for live migration to obviate overloaded machines. This approach is applied on OpenStack, which rapidly grows in an open source cloud computing platform. We conducted a cost-aware dynamic live migration for virtual machines (VMs) at an appropriate time to obviate the violation of service level agreement (SLA) before it happens. We conducted a preemptive migration to offload physical machine (PM) before the overload situation depending on the predictive method. We have carried out a distributed model, a predictive method, and a dynamic threshold policy, which are efficient for the scalable environment as cloud computing. Experimental results have indicated that our model succeeded in avoiding the overload at a suitable time. The simulation results from our solution remarked the very efficient reduction of VM migrations and SLA violation, which could help cloud providers to deliver a good quality of service (QoS).

  • The use of satellite remote sensing in maritime safety and security can aid in the detection of illegal fishing activities and provide more efficient use of limited aircraft or patrol craft resources. In the area of vessel traffic monitoring for commercial vessels, Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) which use the ground-based radar system have some difficulties in detecting moving ships due to the limited detection range. A virtual vessel traffic control system is introduced to contribute to prevent a marine accident such as collision and stranding from happening. Existing VTS has its limit. The virtual vessel traffic control system consists of both data acquisition by satellite remote sensing and a simulation of traffic environment stress based on the satellite data, remotely sensed data. And it could be used to provide timely and detailed information about the marine safety, including the location, speed and direction of ships, and help us operate vessels safely and efficiently. If environmental stress values are simulated for the ship information derived from satellite data, proper actions can be taken to prevent accidents. Since optical sensor has a high spatial resolution, JERS satellite data are used to track ships and extract their information. We present an algorithm of automatic identification of ship size and velocity. This paper lastly introduce the field testing results of ship detection by RADARSAT SAR imagery, and propose a new approach for a Vessel Monitoring System(VMS), including VTS, and SAR combination service.

웹 상에서의 가상 메이크업 시뮬레이션 시스템 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Web-based Virtual Makeup Simulation System)

  • 본 시스템은 웹 상에서 가상으로 메이크업과 헤어스타일 그리고 액세서리 등을 사용자 자신의 얼굴에 적용시켜 볼 수 있는 시뮬레이션 시스템이다. 시뮬레이션의 결과는 데이타베이스에 저장되며 프린터로도 출력이 가능하다. 본 시스템은 자바 애플릿으로 제작되어 서비스가 되므로 웹 브라우저 이외의 클라이언트 프로그램은 필요하지 않으며, 웹 브라우저에 자바 플러그인만 설치되어 있으면 실행이 가능하다. 윈도 2000의 IIS 웹 서버와 MS-SQL7 데이타베이스를 이용하여 구현하였으며, 자바 애플릿과 데이타베이스의 연결은 상용화된 JDBC Driver Type 4를 이용하였다. 구현된 VMSS는 웹 기반의 서비스 제공을 위한 새로운 컨텐츠 개발의 유형을 제시하였으며, 다양한 분야에 대한 응용이 가능할 것으로 생각된다.

  • 해양수산부에서는 어업분야의 선진화를 위하여 어로활동의 현황파악 텐 문제점을 실시간으로 분석하는 어업정보화의 발전방향을 실정하여 해양자원 관리 및 활용성 제고를 통한 종합적이고 체계적인 정보화 기반을 조성하고 있다. 어업통신의 정보화는 전산화되는 자료가 원격지 여부에 관계없이 필요한 사용자에게 공유될 수 있는 환경을 구축하는 것으로 전산화-정보통신망-이용자서비스까지를 종합적으로 고려하여 구축하여야 한다. 해상이동체인 어선들을 상대로 정의통신망을 구성하기 위한 최적의 방안으로 기존의 SSB통신시스템을 이용하는 방법을 연구하였다. 본 연구에서는 운용비 부담이 없는 HF대 SSB통신에 의한 어선의 어업통신망의 구성 및 무선통신망 프로토콜에 대하여 제안하였다

Study of Data Placement Schemes for SNS Services in Cloud Environment

  • Due to the high growth of SNS population, service scalability is one of the critical issues to be addressed. The cloud environment provides the flexible computing and storage resources for services deployment, which fits the characteristics of scalable SNS deployment. However, if the SNS related information is not properly placed, it will cause unbalance load and heavy transmission cost on the storage virtual machine (VM) and cloud data center (CDC) network. In this paper, we characterize the SNS into a graph model based on the users' associations and interest correlations. The node weight represents the degree of associations, which can be indexed by the number of friends or data sources, and the link weight denotes the correlation between users/data sources. Then, based on the SNS graph, the two-step algorithm is proposed in this paper to determine the placement of SNS related data among VMs. Two k-means based clustering schemes are proposed to allocate social data in proper VM and physical servers for pre-configured VM and dynamic VM environment, respectively. The experimental example was conducted and to illustrate and compare the performance of the proposed schemes.

남해안의 VHF 해상디지털통신 운용을 위한 전파환경 연구 (A Study on the Propagation Environment for VHF Maritime Digital Communications Operation in South Sea Area)

  • IMO(International Maritime Organization)에 의하면 2017년부터 해상을 항해하는 모든 선박은 VHF(Very High Frequency) 디지털통신을 운용할 수 있도록 권고되어 있다. 국내에서도 5톤이상의 어선 및 모든 선박에 대하여 무선설비 관련 규정에서 안전운항을 확보하고 해양사고 발생시 신속하게 대응하기 위하여 선박의 소유자는 해양수산부 장관의 고시에 따라 디지털방식에 의한 위치자동발신 장치를 갖추도록 규정하고 있다. 따라서 2012년 어업정보통신국에서는 동해안에 VHF DSC(Digital Selective Calling)에 의하여 위치정보를 자동 수신하는 해안국을 설치하여 운용하고 있다. 한편, 남해안과 서해안은 복잡한 해안선과 다도해의 지형적 환경으로 VHF 통신서비스에 많은 제약을 받는다. 본 연구는 남해안에 VHF 해안국의 입지를 선정하기 위하여 해상에 대한 전파커버리지를 분석하였고, 해안국의 통신권 설정을 위하여 RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indication) 비교 및 VMS(Vessel Monitoring System)에 의한 선박추적 기법을 제안하였다.

SIMULATOR-BASED HUMAN FACTORS EVALUATION OF AUTOMATED HIGHWAY SYSTEM

  • From a viewpoint of human factors, automated highway systems(AHS) can be defined as one of the newly developing human-machine systems that consist of humans(drivers and operators), machines(vehicles and facilities), and environments(roads and roadside environments). AHS will require a changed vehicle control process and driver-vehicle interface(DVI) comparing with conventional driving. This study introduces a fixed-based AHS simulator and provides questionnaire-based human factors evaluation results after three kinds of automated driving speed experiences in terms of road configuration, operation policies, information devices, and overall AHS use. In the simulator, the "shared space-at-grade" concept-based road configuration was virtually implemented on a portion of the Kyungbu highway in Korea, and heads-up display(HUD), AHS information display, and variable message signs(VMS) were installed for appropriate AHS DVI implementation. As the results, the subjects expressed positive opinions on the implemented road configuration, operation policies, and the overall use of AHS. The results of this study would be helpful in developing the road configuration and DVI design guideline as the basic human factors research for the future implementation of AHS.

Efficient Idle Virtual Machine Management for Heterogeneous Cloud using Common Deployment Model

  • This paper presents an effective management of VM (Virtual Machine) for heterogeneous cloud using Common Deployment Model (CDM) brokering mechanism. The effective utilization of VM is achieved by means of task scheduling with VM placement technique. The placements of VM for the physical machine are analyzed with respect to execution time of the task. The idle time of the VMis utilized productively in order to improve the performance. The VMs are also scheduled to maintain the state of the current VM after the task completion. CDM based algorithm maintains two directories namely Active Directory (AD) and Passive Directory (PD). These directories maintain VM with proper configuration mapping of the physical machines to perform two operations namely VM migration and VM roll back. VM migration operation is performed from AD to PD whereas VM roll back operation is performed from PD to AD. The main objectives of the proposed algorithm is to manage the VM's idle time effectively and to maximize the utilization of resources at the data center. The VM placement and VM scheduling algorithms are analyzed in various dimensions of the cloud and the results are compared with iCanCloud model.

  • With the development of Information Communication Technology and a way of solving problems such as productivity improvement, advanced working attitude, greenhouse gas reduction, low birth rate, aged problem, etc., the need of smart work is increasing. Getting out of legacy working types that are limited in time and space, the flexible seat system at a smart work center that supports the smart working environment is proposed. However, the seat choice based on employee's emotional judgement may cause the decline of forming cooperative space and mutual communication because of the scattered seat arrangement between employees. This paper proposed a seat recommendation method for the mutual cooperation at a smart work center. The method is based on a work similarity of employees. A prototype system also implemented to show the feasibility.
