This study reveals the absence of standard design guidelines by region through investigation and analysis centered on public design cases by region in Jeollabuk-do and design elements that can reflect the integration, identity, and diversity of public design in each region by five regions. Through this, the following conclusions could be obtained. First, to improve the quality of street facilities in Jeollabuk-do, the design elements (design motif, color, pattern) applicable to the standard design were analyzed by dividing them into five regions. As a design motif, it was possible to extract patterns containing straight lines, sophistication, dignity, and smartness. In the Northeast region, it is comfortable with the motif of the mountain ridge reflecting geographical characteristics, and it can be extracted elements that contain warm and natural colors. In the southeastern region, patterns that reflect design elements were extracted by applying safe, lively, and peaceful colors with the design motif of curves that blend nature and agriculture. In the southwestern region, design pattern elements that highlight nature, history, and culture were extracted with various cultural assets and natural greenery as motifs. Lastly, in the Saemangeum region, the ocean flow and greenery could be used as a design motif to reflect a positive, clear, future-oriented image in the design spot zones by region. Second, based on the standard design elements (design motive, color, pattern) by region extracted for the standard design development of street facilities in each region in Jeollabuk-do, an integrated zone(Form, structure, material, color, functional element) to which regional design guidelines can be applied. Third, an integrated zone (form, structure, material, color, functional elements) was composed. In addition, design spot zones (patterns and colors in city and county units) that can contain the diversity and identity of each region were designated. By designating design spot zones (patterns and colors in city and county units) that can contain the diversity and identity of each region, standard design development plans (integrated pillars, jaywalking prevention fences, roundabouts (urban type, rural type), street trees) Eight standard designs, including protective covers, street planters, flat benches, light benches, visual media for user guidance, and parking zones for personal mobile devices) were presented.
Background: Diabetic polyneuropathy is the most common complication in diabetics, occurring in 50% of all cases. About 10-20% of all diabetics are accompanied by neurological pain, showing a tendency to increase with age. Clinical aspects are very diverse, from mild abnormalities on nerve conduction tests to severe abnormalities in all sensory, motor, and autonomic nerves; however, sensory symptoms usually precede motor symptoms. Patients typically express sensory symptoms, such as positive and negative symptoms, which decrease the quality of life and have marked clinical implications, such as increased morbidity and mortality. Although Western medical drugs, such as tricyclic antidepressants, anticonvulsants, and narcotic analgesics, are used for diabetic polyneuropathy, a standard treatment has not been established. Case report: A 65-year-old male with paresthesia and pain due to diabetic polyneuropathy was treated with Uchashinki-hwan, acupuncture, electroacupuncture, moxibustion, and Jungsongouhyul pharmacopuncture for 10 days. We used the Toronto Clinical Neuropathy Scoring System, EuroQol-5 Dimension, and Visual Analog Scale to evaluate symptoms. Subsequently, the Neuropathy Scoring System, EuroQol-5 Dimension, and subjective discomfort improved. Conclusion: The present case report suggests that combined Korean medicine treatment might be an effective treatment for paresthesia and pain with diabetic polyneuropathy. Several follow-up studies should be conducted to clarify the effectiveness of the treatment.

Attention, an important element of human cognitive function, is an important cognitive function that focuses only on necessary stimuli from various stimuli through sensory systems. Although various studies have shown that environmental conditions may affect the level of attention, the effect on attention by applying cooling directly to the skin has not been studied much. Differences in attention depending on when and whether cryotherapy was applied during learning and relaxation activities were examined among 36 subjects. The FAIR attention test, a visual attention evaluation tool, was used, and statistical analysis was conducted on the results of the sub-index of FAIR: Performance index, Quality index, and Continuity index. Among participants who performed rest activities, the application of cryotherapy appeared to have no effect on any subindex. Among the participants who performed learning activities, the group that applied pre-cryotherapy (P=469.0, C=435.4)) and the group that applied post-cryotherapy (P=457.4, C=425.4) showed higher Performance index and Continuity index than the group that did not apply cryotherapy (P=335.8, C=301.7). From these results, it can be concluded that cryotherapy maintains the level of alertness and awakens attention, albeit to a limited extent.
This study investigated the effects of utilizing 3D printed teaching aids on academic achievement and learning motivation in a non-face-to-face learning environment during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study was divided into an experimental and a comparison group that applied traditional lecture-based teaching and self-directed learning using 3D printed teaching aids and videos. The results of the study showed that the experimental group using 3D printed brain puzzles improved their academic performance compared to the comparison group using traditional lectures. This may be due to the fact that visual and experiential learning helped students to acquire knowledge on their own. The brain puzzles provided an interesting learning experience for the students, and their overall satisfaction with the class was also positive. These results indicate that teaching with teaching aids can increase students' motivation to learn and improve their academic performance. Therefore, the active introduction of 3D printed teaching aids in the non-face-to-face learning environment caused by COVID-19 is expected to improve the quality of education through innovation in learner-centered teaching methods.
Objectives The aim of this study was to analyze the trends of researches on oriental medicine treatments for supraspinatus tendinopathy. Methods We used five databases for searching researches; Korean studies Information Service System, Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System, Research Information Sharing Service, PubMed, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure. Only randomized controlled trials suitable for the subject were selected. The methodological quality of included randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was assessed by the Cochrane risk of bias tool. Results Twenty randomized controlled trials were analyzed. There were 9 types of treatment interventions; acupuncture, acupotomy, pharmacopuncture, electroacupuncture, fire needling, warming needle, catgut-embedding therapy, herbal medicine, cupping. The most frequently used treatment intervention was acupuncture and acupotomy. There were 9 outcome measurements including visual analog scale (VAS), Constant-Murley Score (CMS), and range of motion. The most used measurement was VAS. As a result of meta-analysis, acupuncture was more effective than control group in VAS. Additionally, acupotomy was clinically significant compared to control groups in VAS and CMS. Conclusions In this review, we analyzed researches on effectiveness of oriental medicine for supraspinatus tendinopathy. A provisional conclusion can be produced that acupuncture and acupotomy showed beneficial effect to supraspinatus tendinopathy. Although there were some RCT studies, many of them had a high risk of bias, so it is hard to conclude that our study can include overall clinical status. Further well-designed trials are needed.

This study aimed to investigate the impact of the quality of the street environment in residential areas on the mental health of urban residents, considering the frequency of street use. Using a zero-inflated negative binomial regression model, the study analyzed the influence of walking frequency and the street environment on depressive symptoms of urban residents. The research focused on Seoul, South Korea, in 2017, with depressive symptoms as the dependent variable and street environment variables, walking variables, and individual characteristics as independent variables. Additionally, the study explores the interaction effect of street greenery and walking frequency to analyze the synergistic impacts of walking in green spaces on mental health. The findings indicate that a higher ratio of street green areas is associated with fewer depressive symptoms. Increased walking frequency is linked to a reduction in depressive symptoms or a weaker manifestation of such symptoms. The interaction effect confirms that more frequent walking in green spaces is associated with weaker depressive symptoms. Lower ratios of visual complexity are correlated with reduced depressive symptoms. This study contributes to addressing urban residents' mental health issues at the community level by emphasizing the importance of the street green environment in residential areas.
Objectives This study aims to analyze clinical studies on subacromial-subdeltoid (SA-SD) bursitis and propose future directions for clinical research on SA-SD bursitis. Methods We searched eight databases to investigate research trends in Korean medicine treatments for SA-SD bursitis up to November 2023. A total of thirty-one studies were included in this analysis. Results Among the included studies, there were six case reports from Korea, fifteen case reports, and ten randomized controlled trials from abroad. Various interventions were uesd, including acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, manual therapy, electro-acupuncture, cupping, physiotherapy, acupotomy, warm-acupuncture, herbal medicine, and moxibustion. The evaluation tools used in these studies included the total effective rate, visual analogue scale, range of motion, and numeral rating scale. Conclusions This study provides an overview of the research trends in Korean medicine treatments for SA-SD bursitis. However, given the low quality and small sample sizes of the studies, the evidence supporting effect of Korean medicine treatments for SA-SD bursitis was insufficient. Further clinical trials and systematic reviews are required.
In the initial stages of urban air mobility (UAM) operations, compliance with existing visual flight rules and instrument flight regulations for conventional human-crewed aircraft is crucial. Additionally, voice communication between the on board pilot and relevant UAM stakeholders, including vertiports, is essential. Consequently, very high frequency (VHF) aviation voice communication must be consistently provided throughout all phases of UAM operations. This paper presents the results of the VHF communication coverage analysis for the initial UAM demonstration areas, encompassing the Hangang River and Incheon Ara-Canal corridors, as well as potential vertiport candidate locations. By considering the influence of terrain and buildings through the utilization of a digital surface model (DSM), communication quality prediction results are obtained for the analysis areas. The three-dimensional coverage analysis results indicate that stable coverage can be achieved within altitude corridors ranging from 300 m to 600 m. However, there are shaded areas in the low-altitude vertiport regions due to the impact of high-rise buildings. Therefore, additional research to ensure stable coverage around vertiports in the lower altitude areas is required.
Objectives: The objective of this study is to compare a nutritionally balanced soft blend diet (SBD) with a soft fluid diet (SFD) on the health of inpatients who have undergone oral and maxillofacial (OMF) surgery, ultimately aiming to enhance care outcomes, improve health-related quality of life (QOL), and increase satisfaction with the hospital. Methods: Thirty-two patients were randomized into two groups: sixteen received SFD and sixteen received SBD. Anthropometric, laboratory evaluations were conducted upon admission and discharge. Patients filled out questionnaires on demographics, diet satisfaction, food intake amount, and health-related QOL on the day of discharge, assessed using the EuroQoL 5 Dimensions 3 Level and EuroQoL Visual Analogue Scale (EQ-VAS) instruments. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, χ2 tests for group differences, and paired nonparametric t-tests for within-group comparisons. The Mann-Whitney U test evaluated inter-group differences in preoperative weight and body mass index (BMI), postoperative changes, meal satisfaction, intake, health-related QOL, and self-assessed health status. P-values were set at a significance level of 0.05. Results: The SBD group had higher dietary intake (63.2% vs. 51.0%) and greater diet satisfaction (80.6 vs. 48.1, P < 0.0001) compared to SFD group. Health-related QOL, measured by EQ-VAS, was better in SBD group (70.3 vs. 58.8, P < 0.05). Postoperative weight and BMI decreased in SFD group but increased in SBD group (P < 0.01). Changes in laboratory results showed more stability in the SBD group. No postoperative infections were reported in SBD group, whereas SFD group had a 31.25% complication rate. Conclusions: While SFD is often recommended after OMF surgery to protect oral wound healing process, our study reveals that SBD not only enhances physical and psychological outcomes but also, somewhat unexpectedly, supports wound healing and reduces complications. Essentially, SBD promotes physical recovery and enhances health-related QOL than SFD by supporting both somatic and mental healing aspects.
1. Introduction: Contrast to the offline purchasing environment, online store cannot offer the sense of touch or direct visual information of its product to the consumers. So the builder of the online shopping mall should provide more concrete and detailed product information(Kim 2008), and Alba (1997) also predicted that the quality of the offered information is determined by the post-purchase consumer satisfaction. In practice, many fashion and apparel online shopping malls offer the picture information with the product on the real person model to enhance the usefulness of product information. On the other virtual product experience has been suggested to the ways of overcoming the online consumers' limited perceptual capability (Jiang & Benbasat 2005). However, the adoption and the facilitation of the virtual reality tools requires high investment and technical specialty compared to the text/picture product information offerings (Shaffer 2006). This could make the entry barrier to the online shopping to the small retailers and sometimes it could be demanding high level of consumers' perceptual efforts. So the expensive technological solution could affects negatively to the consumer decision making processes. Nevertheless, most of the previous research on the online product information provision suggests the VR be the more effective tools. 2. Research Model and Hypothesis: Presented in
, research model suggests VR effect could be moderated by the product types by the usage situations. Product types could be defined as the portable product and installed product, and the information offering type as still picture of the product, picture of the product with the real-person model and VR. 3. Methods and Results: 3.1. Experimental design and measured variables We designed the 2(product types) X 3(product information types) experimental setting and measured dependent variables such as information usefulness, attitude toward the shopping mall, overall product quality, purchase intention and the revisiting intention. In the case of information usefulness and attitude toward the shopping mall were measured by multi-item scale. As a result of reliability test, Cronbach's Alpha value of each variable shows more than 0.6. Thus, we ensured that the internal consistency of items. 3.2. Manipulation check The main concern of this study is to verify the moderate effect by the product type of usage situation.
indicates that our experimental manipulation of the moderate effect of the product type was successful. 3.3. Results As
indicates, there was a significant main effect on the only one dependent variable(attitude toward the shopping mall) by the information types. As predicted, VR has highest mean value compared to other information types. Thus, H1 was partially supported. However, main effect by the product types was not found. To evaluate H2 and H3, a two-way ANOVA was conducted. As
indicates, there exist the interaction effects on the three dependent variables(information usefulness, overall product quality and purchase intention) by the information types and the product types. As predicted, picture of the product with the real-person model has highest mean among the information types in the case of portable product. On the other hand, VR has highest mean among the information types in the case of installed product. Thus, H2 and H3 was supported. 4. Implications: The present study found the moderate effect by the product type of usage situation. Based on the findings the following managerial implications are asserted. First, it was found that information types are affect only the attitude toward the shopping mall. The meaning of this finding is that VR effects are not enough to understand the product itself. Therefore, we must consider when and how to use this VR tools. Second, it was found that there exist the interaction effects on the information usefulness, overall product quality and purchase intention. This finding suggests that consideration of usage situation helps consumer's understanding of product and promotes their purchase intention. In conclusion, not only product attributes but also product usage situations must be fully considered by the online retailers when they want to meet the needs of consumers.
