Hybrid complementary circuits based on organic/inorganic flexible thin film transistors with PVP/Al2O3 gate dielectrics

  • Flexible inverters based on complementary thin-film transistor (CTFTs) are important because they have low power consumption and other advantages over single type TFT inverters. In addition, integrated CTFTs in flexible electronic circuits on low-cost, large area and mechanically flexible substrates have potentials in various applications such as radio-frequency identification tags (RFIDs), sensors, and backplanes for flexible displays. In this work, we introduce flexible complementary inverters using pentacene and amorphous indium gallium zinc oxide (IGZO) for the p-channel and n-channel, respectively. The CTFTs were fabricated on polyimide (PI) substrate. Firstly, a thin poly-4-vinyl phenol (PVP) layer was spin coated on PI substrate to make a smooth surface with rms surface roughness of 0.3 nm, which was required to grow high quality IGZO layers. Then, Ni gate electrode was deposited on the PVP layer by e-beam evaporator. 400-nm-thick PVP and 20-nm-thick ALD Al2O3 dielectric was deposited in sequence as a double gate dielectric layer for high flexibility and low leakage current. Then, IGZO and pentacene semiconductor layers were deposited by rf sputter and thermal evaporator, respectively, using shadow masks. Finally, Al and Au source/drain electrodes of 70 nm were respectively deposited on each semiconductor layer using shadow masks by thermal evaporator. Basic electrical characteristics of individual transistors and the whole CTFTs were measured by a semiconductor parameter analyzer (HP4145B, Agilent Technologies) at room temperature in the dark. Performance of those devices then was measured under static and dynamic mechanical deformation. Effects of cyclic bending were also examined. The voltage transfer characteristics (Vout- Vin) and voltage gain (-dVout/dVin) of flexible inverter circuit were analyzed and the effects of mechanical bending will be discussed in detail.

  • This paper proposes a wide output range AC/DC converter for a rechargeable battery of electric vehicle. In the proposed wide output range AC/DC converter for rechargeable battery of electric vehicle, the main transformer in the DC/DC stage is divided by two. Therefore, if the switch is connected to the middle tap, then half of the maximum voltage is applied. Otherwise, it can be applied the full range of the high voltage by connecting the switch to the whole tab. And also, it is designed to have a wide output voltage range by applying Vin/2 made by changing the full-bridge to half-bridge by using the bridge change switch of the input stage. As it can be supplied the wide range output voltage with a single module, it has the advantage of space utilization and cost reduction effect.

  • 멀티미디어에 대한 관심 증가로 미디어 파일중의 하나인 SMF의 사용자층이 넓어지고 있다. 기존의 시퀀싱 소프트웨어의 양자화 기능은 음표 하나만을 기준을 했기 때문에 건반 혹은 다른 미디 컨트롤러를 통해 실시간으로 입력받은 SW를 양자화 한 후 또 다시 수작업으로 보정을 해 주어야 했다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 번거로움을 줄이고, 연주자가 최초에 의도한 악보에 근접하기 위한 SMF의 양자화 알고리듬에 관해 제안하였다.

  • In this paper, we have proposed the design and implementation for efficient Command Control and Alert(C2A). Information fusion must be done for knowing the state and identification of targets using multi-sensor. The threat priority of targets which are processed and identified by information fusion is calculated by air-defence operation logic. The threat targets are assigned to the valid and effective weapons by nearest neighborhood algorithm. Furthermore, the assignment result allows operators to effectively operate C2A by providing the operators with visualizing symbol color and the assignment pairing color line. We introduce the prototype which is implemented by the proposed design and algorithm.

  • Melatonin in mammals, produced by the pineal gland and elsewhere, has shown antioxidant and neuroprotective properties in neuronal cells. We investigated whether melatonin would increase newly-born cells (cell proliferation) in the dentate gyrus of maternally-separated rats. To examine the effect of melatonin on cell proliferation of the dentate gyrus in maternally-separated rats, 5-bromo-2'-deoxyuridine (BrdU) immunohistochemistry was performed.(omitted)
