Performance Ratings According to Characteristics of Thermosyphon Solar Hot Water System (자연대류형 태양열온수기의 특성별 성능평가에 관한 연구)

  • To obtain thermal performance data, an experiment was performed with the two selected thermosyphon systems. The system parameters obtained by experimental data were used to perform TRNSYS simulation and verified TRNSYS model of thermosyphon solar hot water system. The thermosyphon solar hot water system was TYPE 145 which is modified from non-linear model. This model can describe heat exchange type and non-linear efficiency equation. It is possible to analyze the annual energy rate with efficiency equation and system specification. In this paper, we could compare the annual performance of the coil heat exchanger with that of the tank-in-tank heat exchanger. Under the same efficiency and parameter, heat exchange, drain, initial tank temperature, ratio of tank volume over collector area(V/Ac), regional annual performance rating were performed.

Synthesis and Properties of Pyrrolidinium and Piperidinium Bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide Ionic Liquids with Allyl Substituents

  • New pyrrolidinium and piperidinium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (TFSI) ionic liquids (ILs) having allyl substituents were synthesized and characterized. All of them are liquid at room temperature and stable up to 300 oC. The pyrrolidinium-based ILs showed better conductivities and lower viscosities than the corresponding piperidinium-based ILs. Among them, 1-allyl-1-methylpyrrolidinium TFSI showed the lowest viscosity of 52 cP, the highest conductivity of 5.7 mS cm?1, and the most negative cathodic voltage window of ?3.2 V (vs. Fc/Fc+) on a platinum electrode, which are the improved results compared to the corresponding analogue having a saturated substituent, 1-methyl-1-propylpyrrolidinium TFSI.

Measurement and Statistical Analysis of Magnetic Fields Produced by Cloud Discharges (운방전에 의해 발생되는 자장의 계측과 통계적 분석)

  • In this work, to obtain the detailed information about lightning electromagnetic field waveforms, the LabVIEW based-measurement system of time-changing magnetic fields was designed and constructed. The frequency bandwidth of the magnetic field measuring system ranges from 300 [Hz] to 1 [MHz], and the response sensitivity is 2.78 [mV/nT]. Data acquisition system with the resolution of 12 bits and memory capacity of 32 [Mbyte] was triggered by the magnetic field to be measured. The properties and parameters of the magnetic fields produced by cloud discharges were statistically investigated. The magnetic field waveforms radiated from cloud lighting discharges tend to be bipolar, with two or more narrow and several pulses superimposed on the initial front part. The recording length of the magnetic field measurement system is about 10 [ms]. The mean duration of cloud discharges is 1.3 [ms], and the number of outburst pulses for the period is 8 in average. The front times of the magnetic fields are 6.15 [$\mu$s] in average. The the zero-to-zero crossing times that is the initial half-cycle duration is widely dispersed and the mean value is 9.61 [$\mu$s], and the mean value of percentage depth of dip to opposite polarity is 41.1 [$\%$].

Purification and characterzation of the $\alpha$-L-Arabinofuranosidase from Escherichia coli Cells Harboring the Recombinant Plasmid pKMG11 (재조합 균주 Escherichia coli가 생산하는 Bacillus stearothermophilus $\alpha$-L-Arabinofuranosidase의 정제 및 특성)

  • $\alpha $-Arabinofuranosidase was produced by E. coli HB101 haboring the recombinant plasmid pKMG11 which contained the arfI gene of Bacillus stearothermophilus. The maximum production of the enzyme was observed when E. coli HB101 cells were grown at 37$\circ$C for 20 hours in the medium containing 0.5% arabinose, 1.0% tryptone, 0.5% yeast extract, and 1% NaCl. The $\ALPHA $-arabinofuranosidase produced was purified to homogeneity using a combination of 20-50% ammonium sulfate precipitation, DEAE-Sepharose CL-6B ion exchange column chromatography and Sepharose 6B-100 gel filtration. The purified enzyme was most active at 55$\circ$C and pH 6.5. The K$_{m}$ and V$_{max}$ values of the enzyme on $\rho $-nitrophenyl-$\alpha $-arabinofuranoside was determined to be 2.99 mM and 0.43 $\mu $mole/min (319.74 $\mu $mole/min/mg), respectively. The pI value was 4.5. The molecular weight of the native protein was estimated to be 289 kDa. The SDS-polyacrylamide gel clectrophoresis analysis suggested that the functional protein was a trimer of the 108 kDa identical subunits. The N-terminal amino acid sequence of the a-arabinofuranosidase was identified as X-Ser-Thr-Ala-Pro-Arg( \ulcorner )-Ala-Thr-Met-Val-Ile-Asp-X-Ala-Phe.

  • Ozone has been widely applied to many industrial fields because of its strong oxidation power, Therefore, the studies have been carried out for the methods on an effective and high concentration ozone generation. The silent or surface discharge type ozone generators have been mainly used for high concentration ozone generation in many fields of applications. But these two types of ozone generators have shortcomings to be improved. In this study, the ozone generator which improved the shortcomings of above ozone generators was proposed and fabricated for the high concentration ozone generation. And the proposed ozone generator could generate the surface and barrier discharge simultaneously. For this purpose, a mesh type discharge electrode was proposed and studied as a function of the widths output maximum ozone concentration of 2.96[vol%] was obtained at 5.6[kV], 830[mA], for 0.3[mm] width and 0.8[mm] vacancy of the mesh electrode and gap spacing of 0.65[mm] respectively.

The Dielectric Characteristics of ($Ba_x Sr_{l-x})TiO_3$ Thin Films by the Spin-Coating method (스핀코팅법에 의한 ($Ba_x Sr_{l-x})TiO_3$ 박막의 유전 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, the ceramics of high permittivity are applied to DRAM and FRAM. In this study, (B $a_{x}$ S $r_{l-x}$)Ti $O_3$(BST) ceramics thin films were prepared by Sol-Gel method. BST solution was made and spin-coated on Pt/ $SiO_2$/Si substrate at 4000 [rpm] for 10 seconds. Coated specimens were dried at 150[$^{\circ}C$] for 5 minutes. Coating process was repeated 3 times and then sintered at 750[$^{\circ}C$] for 30 minutes. Each specimen was analyzed structure and electrical characteristics. Thickness of BST ceramics thin films are about 2000($\AA$). Dielectric constant and loss of thin films was little decreased at 1[KHz] ~1[KHz]. Dielectric constant and loss to frequency were 250 and 0.02 in $Ba_{0.7}$S $r_{0.3}$Ti $O_3$. The properly of leakage current as the realation between the current and the voltage was that change of the leakage current was stable when the applied voltage was 0~3[V].

  • The conventional method to deal with current transformer (CT) Saturation is over dimensioning of the core so that CTs can carry up to 20 times the rated current without exceeding 10% ratio correction. However, this not only reduces the sensitivity of relays as some errors may still be present in the secondary current when a severe fault occurs, but also increases the CT size. This paper presents an algorithm for compensating the distorted secondary current of iron-cored CTs under CT saturation using the magnetization (flux-current : .lambda.-i) curve and its performance is examined for fault currents encountered on a typical 345[kV] Korean transmission system, under a variety of different system and fault conditions. In addition, the results of hardware implementation of the algorithm using a TMS320C10 digital signal processor are also presented. The proposed algorithm can improve the sensitivity of relays to low level internal faults, maximize the stability of relays for external faults, and reduce the required CT core cross-section significantly. Piezoelectric and Dielectric Properties of Low Temperature Sintering (K0.5Na0.5)NbO3 Ceramics with the Variation of Poling Electric Field (저온소결 (K0.5Na0.5)NbO3 세라믹스의 분극전계에 따른 압전 및 유전특성)

  • In this paper, the influences of poling electric field on piezoelectric properties of $0.95(K_{0.5}Na_{0.5})NbO_3$-$0.05Li(Sb_{0.8}Nb_{0.2})O_3$ (abbreviated as KNN-LSN) ceramics were investigated. The specimens was sintered at sintering temperature of $1050^{\circ}C$. They showed orthorhombic phase structure without secondary phase. Electromechanical coupling factor (kp), dielectric and piezoelectric constant($d_{33}$) increased with poling electric field. However, mechanical quality factor (Qm) decreased. Take into account of poling conditions and piezoelectric properties of KNN-LSN ceramics, the optimum poling condition for KNN-LSN ceramics was poling electric field of 4.5 kV/mm. At the time, kp of 0.458, Qm of 43.97, $d_{33}$ of 278 pC/N, and dielectric constant of 1079 were shown, respectively.

Relative Effect of Glyphosate on Glyphosate-Tolerant Maize Rhizobacterial Communities is Not Altered by Soil Properties

  • The rhizobacterial composition varies according to the soil properties. To test if the effect of herbicides on the rhizobacterial communities of genetically modified NK603 glyphosate-tolerant maize varies according to different soil locations, a comparison was made between the effects of glyphosate (Roundup Plus), a post-emergence applied herbicide, and a pre-emergence applied herbicide (GTZ) versus untreated soil. The potential effect was monitored by direct amplification, cloning, and sequencing of the soil DNA encoding 16S rRNA, and high-throughput DNA pyrosequencing of the bacterial DNA coding for the 16S rRNA hypervariable V6 region. The results obtained using three different methods to analyze the herbicide effect on the rhizobacterial communities of genetically modified NK603 maize were comparable to those previously obtained when glyphosate-tolerant maize was grown in soil with different characteristics. Both herbicides decreased the bacterial diversity in the rhizosphere, with Actinobacteria being the taxonomic group most affected. The results suggest that both herbicides affected the structure of the maize rhizobacterial community, but glyphosate was environmentally less aggressive.

Analysis of On-Line Partial Discharge in Air-Coolded Gas Turbine Generator (공랭식 가스터빈 발전기의 운전중 부분방전 분석)

  • The on-line partial discharge (PD) in stator windings of air-cooled gas turbine (GT) generator (119.2MVA, 13.8kV) is measured and analyzed in this paper. This generator was designed by global vacuum pressure impregnation (VPI). The generator failed two times at top bar (16T) of phase B in the stator slot. Six epoxy-mica capacitors were installed in three phases of GT generator. On-line PD test was performed on GT generator using turbine generator analyzer (TGA). TGA showed that the normalized quantity number (NQN) and the PD magnitude($Q_m$) were high in phase B. Internal discharges were generated in phases A, B and C. The trend analysis of NQN and $Q_m$ value are obtained in order to monitor the insulation condition in GT generator stator windings. Phases A and C were in good condition. But phase B had deteriorated significantly
