Evaluation of J$_lc$ and T$_mat$ of aged 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V steel at elevated temperature (시효열화시킨 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V 강의 고온에서의 J$_lc$ 및 T$_mat$ 의 평가)

  • When crack are detected in aged turbine rotors of power plants, information on fracture resistance of the aged material at operating temperature is needed for determination of critical loading condition and residual life of the turbine. In this study, fracture toughness (J$_lc$) and tearing modulus(T$_mat$) of virgin and thermally degraded 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V steel, which is one of the most widely used rotor steels, were measured at 538.deg. C according to ASTM E813 and ASTM E1152, respectively. Five kinds of specimen with different degradation levels were prepared by isothermal aging heat treatment at $630^{\circ}C.$ It was observed that J$_lc$ and T$_mat$ value decreased as the degradation level increased. Analysis of microstructures using a scanning electron microscope showed that the decrement of J$_lc$ is related to segregation of impurities at grain boundaries. It was also verified that the DC electric potential drop method is accurate and reliable for crack length monitoring at elevated temperature.

Phylogenetic Relationships of Korean Viola (Violaceae) Based on matK and atpB-rbcL Sequence Data of Chloroplast DNA (엽록체 DNA의 matK와 aptB-rbcL 염기서열 분석에 의한 제비꽃속(Viola)의 계통유연관계)

  • Phylogenetic studies were conducted for 42 populations of Korean viola based on matK gene and atpB-rbcL intergenic spacer region of chloroplast DNA. In the matK tree, section Chamaemelanium and Dischidium were formed as a distinct group. Five subsections of section Nomimium were paraphyletic. In atpB-rbcL intergenic spacer region analysis, two species of sect. Chamaemelanium were monophyletic, and section Dischidium was placed sister to subsection patellares clade except for V. keiskei. Five subsections of section Nomimium were also paraphyletic as matK tree. the separate data analyses were incongruent in the relationships among 42 populations, especially for the position of section Dischidium and V. keiskei. The combined analyses of two chloroplast regions showed three major clades; section Chamaemelanium and Dischidium (x=6) formed a sister to subsections Hypocarpae and Trigonocarpae (x=10) clade; subsections Bilobatae and vaginatae (x=10 or 12) formed a clade with V. keiskei; and 19 populations of subsection patellares (x=12) except for V. keiskei were recognized as an independent clade within section Nomimium. Although combined data suggest three major clades of Korean viola, the origins of each clade from outgroup were discordance with previous ITS and trnL-F data.

  • ECR-PECVD법을 사용하여 450-49$0^{\circ}C$이하의 온도에서 Pt/SiO$_{2}$/Si기판 위에 PZT 박막을 증착하였다. 기판 온도가 46$0^{\circ}C$ 이하일 경우에는 페로브스이트 상과 제2상으로 이루어진 박막이 성장하였으며 기판온도가 47$0^{\circ}C$이상일 때에는 페로브스카이트 단일상의 PZT 박막이 성장하였다. 49$0^{\circ}C$에서 매우 얇은 페로브스카이트의 PZT 박막을 증착한 후 $650^{\circ}C$에서 1분간 raped thermal annealing(RTA) 처리한 결과 박막의 조성과 결정성에는 거의 변화가 없었으나 박막의 전하 저장 밀도는 크게 향상되었다. 이는 RTA 처리에 의한 저유전 계면층의 소멸이 주된 이유라고 판단된다. 열처리 후 두께 40-45nm의 PZT박막은 200kV/cm의 전장 하에서 $10^{-6}$$\textrm{cm}^2$이하의 누설전류값을 갖고 있었으며, 인가전압 1V에서 300fF/$\mu$$m^2$의 정전용량, 즉 SiO$_{2}$환산두께 0.12nm를 나타내었다.

  • This research compared growth and flowering of potted $Viola{\times}wittrockiana$ 'Majestic GT Scarlet Shadow' in various mixtures of recycled perlite and cellular glass foam (CGF). The crop was cultured in a mat subirrigation system. Numbers of leaves, opened flowers, flower buds, and branches, fresh and dry weights of shoot, leaf area, and total chlorophyll concentration were the greatest in plants grown in the medium of used perlite + granular rockwool+ peatmoss (25:50:25, v/v/v). Plant height and length of the longest root were the highest and longest, respectively, in plants grown in the medium of CGF+peatmoss (25:75, v/v). The medium of CGF+peatmoss (25:75, v/v) was better than the medium of used perlite+peatmoss (25:75, v/v) in plant growth. The medium of CGF + granular rockwool (25:75, v/v) was poorer than the medium of recycled perlite + granular rockwool (25:75, v/v).

Preparation of $Pb(Zr,\;Ti)O_3$ thin films by MOCVD using ultrasonic spraying (초음파분무를 이용한 MOCVD법에 의한 $Pb(Zr,\;Ti)O_3$박막의 제조)

  • Thin films of )$Pb(Zr, \;TiO_3$ are fabricated by MOCVD using ultrasonic spraying. The films having perovskite structure are made at low deposition temperature, $300-450^{\circ}C$. The phase and composition of the films vary with the composition of the starting solution and the deposition temperature. Dielectric constant of the films is 187 at 1MHz. Ferroelectric hysterysis loop measurements indicate a remanant polarization of $5.5{\mu}C/cm^2$, and coercive field of 65kV/cm. Resistivity of thin films is about $10^{11}{\Omega}cm$ and the breakdown electric field abort 35kV/cm.

Mating Types and Optimum Culture Conditions for Sexual StateFormation of Fusarium fujikuroi Isolates

  • Twenty-five isolates of Fusarium fujikuroi acquired from rice seeds and rice plants evidencing symptoms of Bakanae disease were evaluated to determine their mating types and characterize the formation of their sexual state. The mating types of the isolates were evaluated via multiplex PCR with the diagnostic primers of the mating-type (MAT) region: GFmat1a, GFmat1b, GFmat2c, and GFmat2d. Among the 25 isolates, 11 were identified as MAT-1 (male), and 14 as MAT-2 (female). Four MAT-1 isolates and three MAT-2 isolates were mated and cultured to evaluate the optimal culture conditions for the production of their sexual states. Among four tested media, 10% V8 juice agar proved optimal for the perithecial production of the isolates. The isolates also generated the largest numbers of perithecia when incubated at 23oC in alternating cycles of 12 hr fluorescent light and NUV fluorescent light and 12 hr darkness.

  • Rf magnetron sputtering을 이용하여 InP, GaAs 기판위에 ZnO 박막을 증착시켰다. 진공 ampul 및 $Zn_3P_2$ 분위기 하에서 열처리 과정을 통해 P와 As을 ZnO 박막내에 도핑하였으며, 박막의 전기적 특성 측정 결과 정공의 농도가 $10^{16}cm^{-3}-10^{19}cm^{-3}$ 으로서 p-형 전기전도도를 나타내었다. XRD 측정을 통하여 ZnO 박막의 내부에 이상이 존재하지 않는다는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 FESEM을 이용하여 p-형 ZnO 박막의 표면을 관찰하였으며 그 위에 n-형 ZnO 박막을 sputtering을 이용하여 증착시켜 I-V 특성을 관찰하였다. 본 실험을 통해 P 및 As의 확산을 통한 p-형 ZnO 박막의 성장이 가능하였으며, I-V 특성으로부터 ZnO의 발광소자 및 자외선 검출기로의 응용이 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • Thermoelectric effects on the temperature changes at the solid- and liquid-phase and its interface were studied by using the unidirectional solidification of $\textrm{Bi}_{2}\textrm{Te}_{3}$. Cooling or heating effects measured with current density. polarity and current passing time were quite different. By separating sole Peltier, Thomson and Joule heat theoretically and experimentally, the Peltier coefficient at the solid/liquid interface of $\textrm{Bi}_{2}\textrm{Te}_{3}$ was -1.10$\times\textrm{10}^{-1}$V, and the Thomson coefficients of solid- and liquid-phase were 7.31\times\textrm{10}^{-4}V/K, 5.77\times\textrm{10}^{-5}V/K, respectively. When D.C. passed from solid-phase to liquid-phase during the crystal growth of $\textrm{Bi}_{2}\textrm{Te}_{3}$ the crystal with more directionality was obtained owing to increase of the temperature gradient in liquid by the Peltier cooling. But in reverse current direction, the crystallinity was not changed significantly.

Preparation and Electrical Properties of Electro-conducting Glasses Containing $\textrm{V}_{2}\textrm{O}_{5}$ ($\textrm{V}_{2}\textrm{O}_{5}$계 전자 전도성 유리의 제조 및 전기적 특성)

  • Vanadate glasses using $B_2O_3$ as a network former and with CuO additive were mainly investigated in relation to electrical properties. Crystalline phases formed by heat-treatment in each composition were examined and dc electrical conductivity changes of the glasses were analyzed. Crystalline phases were identified as $V_3O_5,\;a-CuV_2O_6\;and\;{\beta}-CuV_2O_6$ by XRD analysis. Crystallization degrees of $V_2O_5$ and ${\beta}-CuV_2O_6$ were little changed with heat-treatment time, but those of ${\alpha}u-CuV_2O_6$ were changed sharply with heat-treatment time. The more crystallization of ${\alpha}u-CuV_2O_6$ occurred, the higher electrical conductivity was observed. Electrical conductivities with $10^{-2}~10^{-4}/{\Omega}/cm$ at room temperature(303K) could be obtained by controlling the glass compositions. The electrical conductivities were increased with increasing of $V_20_5$ content and decreasing of alkality($CuO/B_2O_3$). In this study, electron was proved to be charge carrier by seebeck coefficient measurement. Accordingly, the glasses are believed to be n-type semiconductor. Calculated activation energies for the conduction were in the range 0.098-0.124 eV. Electrical conduction mechanism was small polaron hopping without showing variable range hopping in the temperature range $30~200^{\circ}C$.
