A Data-Mining Model to Support new Customer Acquisition for Internet Telephony(VoIP) (인터넷전화(VoIP)의 신규고객 유치를 지원하는 데이터마이닝 모델)

  • Recently, Internet Telephony has become increasingly popular in telecommunication industry. However, previous research on Internet Telephony has focused on analyzing specific Internet Telephonysolutions, identifyingthe Internet Telephony movement itself. The research on prediction models about Internet Telephony adoption has been minimal. The main propose of this study is to develop models for predicting transition intention from using traditional telephones to using Internet Telephony. To do so, this study uses data mining methods to analyze demands in the IT communications market and to provide management strategies for Internet telephony providers. Especially this study uses discriminant analysis, logistic regression, classification tree, and neural nets to develop those prediction models toward Internet Telephony adoption. The models are compared with each other and a superior model is chosen.

The Nonlinear Association Between Internet Using Time for Non-Educational Purposes and Adolescent Health

  • Objectives: This study was performed to consider the association between Internet using time for non-educational purposes and adolescent health, and to examine how health status differs between Internet users and non-users. Methods: We analyzed 2009 data from the Korea Adolescent Risk Behavior Web-Based Survey, conducted on a nationally representative sample of students in grades 7 to 12. A total of 75 066 adolescents were categorized into four groups according to their Internet using time excluding using for educational purposes: non-Internet users (NIUs), occasional Internet users (OIUs) (<1 h/d), moderate Internet users (MIUs) (${\geq}1$ and <2 h/d), and heavy Internet users (HIUs) (${\geq}2$ h/d). Health factors included eight health risk behavior indices, four mental health indices and six physical health indices. Results: The distribution of Internet use was as follows: NIUs 17.4%, OIUs 68.1%, MIUs 12.7%, and HIUs 1.7%. In multivariate analysis, using OIUs as a reference, U- or J-shaped associations were observed for five health risk behavior indices (current smoking, current drinking, drug abuse, sexual intercourse, sedentary behavior on weekdays) and four mental health indices (stressed, depressed, suicidal ideation, attempted suicide) in both genders. After removing confounding effects, including age, region, school type, subjective school record, subjective economic status, presence of parents, living with family, and sedentary behavior, these associations were still observed. Conclusions: Health professionals should consider both Internet non-users (for non-educational purposes) and heavy users to be high-risk groups in terms of health status. Also, more well-designed studies are needed to clarify what factors are working in these nonlinear associations.

  • Objectives : The objective of this study is to examine the experiences of Internet game experience targeting to University students in Korea. Research topics was "What is meaning of internet game to the University students?" Methods : Classical phenomenology underpinned this study. Seven qualitative studies of University students were conducted between 20 and 23 years old. Semi-structured interviews were conducted. Interviews were audio recorded and transcribed verbatim. Phenomenological thematic analysis of data was undertaken. Results : The findings pivot around three interconnected themes :[Expectations for the emotional needs], [Spend time in the cyberspace], [Relieve stress throughout the game], [Instead of satisfaction from virtual reality], [Internet gaming repeat and desires]. The basic need for getting into internet game was [satisfaction from virtual reality was identified]. While internet games was eliminated stress, [Expectations for the emotional needs] and [Spend time in the cyberspace] were the catalyst that makes them repeatedly getting into Internet the game. Based on the result, I suggest that Internet gaming should be recognized as a tool to relieve stress for college students, But it is not satisfied with the reality in virtual space. Therefore, the strategy must be to recognize reality accompanying. And Using a lot of time in cyberspace make them cause of internet game addiction. Therefore, it requires a systematic strategy for the Internet using time limits. Also the emotional needs met were motivated to repeat an Internet game. So another way to meet the emotional needs to college students should be sought.

Factors Influencing Internet Addiction and Information Ethics : Centering on Self Characteristics and Cognitive Characteristics toward Internet (인터넷 중독과 정보윤리에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 - 자아특성 및 인터넷 인지특성을 중심으로)

  • Recently, negative sides of internet, internet and/or game addiction and unethical behavior over internet, have been largely publicized in our society. There have been numerous studies to explore the problems and solutions, but these lack considering broader set of research variables. Therefore, this research investigated how i) internet users' self characteristics and ii) cognitive characteristics toward internet influence iii) internet addiction and iv) information ethics respectively. Especially, this study focused on college students, more mature beings than elementary, middle and high school students with whom most other researches have dealt so far. Major findings of this study are as follows: (1) Willingness to develop relationships over internet, usefulness of internet use, a degree to perceive the cyber space as real, and a degree to express self over internet have significant effects on disabled life style. Self respect willingness to develop relationships over internet, usefulness of internet use, a degree to perceive the cyber space as real, and capability of using internet have significant effects on the lack of control over internet. Willingness to develop relationships over internet, self control, and a degree to express self over internet have significant effects on the lack of control over internet. 2) Regarding the effects of independent variables(self characteristics and cognitive characteristics) on information ethics through internet addiction factors, self respect self control, a degree to perceive the cyber space as real, and capability of using internet have directly and indirectly significant effects on information ethics through internet addiction. Then we suggested four approaches to reduce the internet addiction and improve the information ethics based on the findings.

  • Having information is most important at the present age. Internet is main source of obtaining information and mobile telecommunication let people communicate each other without any time and space limitation. Recently, advanced technology in telecommunication makes two-way service possible. So, the mobile internet service combined internet with mobile telecommunication is widely and rapidly promoted. Therefore user can transmit and receive a lot of information without time and space restriction using various application technologies. This paper deals with machinery that makes human do office work conveniently in vehicle using mobile internet service. Namely, it tries to design mobile internet machinery combining of wireless payment, GPS module, mobile internet, and mobile office etc. And that can transmit and receive e-mail or documents etc. This machinery has various objects, and design process has complexity. To reduce trial error and processing complexity, Axiomatic Design Method is used to design the machinery.

  • Purpose. The purpose of this study was to determine the using state of computers and internet in university students. Method. This research conducts a survey of 50 university students. Researcher personally visited lecture room to explain the purpose of research. The questionnaire was made by the researcher and consists of seven questions. Result. In this study, university students of 74% using computer more than one hour per day. The most of purpose of internet use was internet surfing and writing a document. University students of 42% were play games with internet. Conclusion. The continuous tracking is need of computer and internet use and need to be healthy for the use of guidance of university students.

A Design of X-internet Development Framework by Using Flash Component and Service API (플래시 컴포넌트와 서비스 API를 이용한 X-인터넷 개발 프레임워크 설계)

  • In this paper, we designed a new type of X-internet framework by using Flash component and server service API and analyzed its performance. Proposed X-internet framework uses Flash MX Professional 2004, Java, and software which opened middleware and database. Since proposed framework use the server service API that we developed in this paper and Flash player, this framework does not need server module. Proposed framework enables to obtain design with dynamic user interface compare to Web application and enables to reduce development time. In analytical results, it has been shown that proposed x-internet framework have efficient characteristics such as network traffic, low development cost and dynamic user interface implementation. Since proposed X-internet framework can operate in environment of current developer friendly, it is useful for development of various new application programs and we confirm it through Flash web mail implementation by using proposed x-internet framework.

  • Since 1999, mobile internet service has been increasing rapidly. According to the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) of the Republic of Korea, the size of mobile service market is forecasted to be valued at approximately 10.5 trillion won in 2007. For this reason, many mobile service providers have adopted customer-centered strategy for the successful business in the mobile internet services. Thus, this research examines the rations of service quality, user satisfaction, and additional use intentions with 88 users (male and female) of mobile internet service using structural equation model (SEM). The result shows that there is a difference between male and female using mobile internet service regarding the quality factors of mobile internet service. This study provides some guidelines for the successful strategic planning of customer-centered mobile internet services in gender.

As the Internet is lively and the Internet users incredibly increasing, the total marketing strategies of Enterprises are cyberized, and Enterprises try finding the new business partner by using Internet technologies, At the base of this Environments, this paper proposes the Internet Marketing Server (that is called EC-Business Server) that consists of the staging server to establish the Mall, the search engine for resembled manufactured goods, and so on. EC-Business Server supports Business-to-Business as in electronic commerce.
