The appearance of wirelsss internet service made accessing easier than existing mobile devices. Due to the properity of mobile devices, we can easily obtain his/her profile information compared to a wired internet service. It enables to provide a personalized service through mobile devices. In this paper, we propose a recommendation service based on collaborative filtering method and a content push service. Using users' profile information, we recommand a target user's favoriate content. The recommanded contents are stored in mobile device through the push service. When we connect a wireless internet service, our mobile push service starts to cache from user's favorite contents. Especially, when we select a large mobile content, our system can reduce a download time by using our recommandation service. Also, in case of a connectionless, we can use a cached data from pushed content in our mobile device.
As online shopping malls continue to grow in popularity, various chances of consumption are provided to customers. Customers decide the purchase by exploiting information provided by shopping malls such as the reviews of actual purchasing users, the detailed information of items, and so on. It is required to provide objective and reliable information because customers have to decide on their own whether the massive information is credible. In this paper, we propose a personalized recommendation method considering an item confidence to recommend reliable items. The proposed method determines user preferences based on various behaviors for personalized recommendation. We also propose an user preference measurement that considers time weights to apply the latest propensity to consume. Finally, we predict the preference score of items that have not been used or purchased before, and we recommend items that have highest scores in terms of both the predicted preference score and the item confidence score.
Because of the spread of smartphones due to the development of information and communication technology, online shopping mall services can be used on computers and mobile devices. As a result, the number of users using the online shopping mall service increases rapidly, and the types of products traded are also growing. Therefore, to maximize profits, companies need to provide information that may interest users. To this end, the recommendation system presents necessary information or products to the user based on the user's past behavioral data or behavioral purchase records. Representative overseas companies that currently provide recommendation services include Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube. These companies support users' purchase decisions by recommending products to users using ratings, purchase records, and clickstream data that users give to the items. In addition, users refer to the ratings left by other users about the product before buying a product. Most users tend to provide ratings only to products they are satisfied with, and the higher the rating, the higher the purchase intention. And recently, e-commerce sites have provided users with the ability to vote on whether product reviews are helpful. Through this, the user makes a purchase decision by referring to reviews and ratings of products judged to be beneficial. Therefore, in this study, the correlation between the product rating and the helpful information of the review is identified. The valuable data of the evaluation is reflected in the recommendation system to check the recommendation performance. In addition, we want to compare the results of skipping all the ratings in the traditional collaborative filtering technique with the recommended performance results that reflect only the 4 and 5 ratings. For this purpose, electronic product data collected from Amazon was used in this study, and the experimental results confirmed a correlation between ratings and review usefulness information. In addition, as a result of comparing the recommendation performance by reflecting all the ratings and only the 4 and 5 points in the recommendation system, the recommendation performance of remembering only the 4 and 5 points in the recommendation system was higher. In addition, as a result of reflecting review usefulness information in the recommendation system, it was confirmed that the more valuable the review, the higher the recommendation performance. Therefore, these experimental results are expected to improve the performance of personalized recommendation services in the future and provide implications for e-commerce sites.
Recently, with the development of mobile devices and social media services, contents recommendation schemes have been studied. They are typically applied to the job curation systems. Most existing university education content recommendation schemes only recommend the most frequently taken subjects based on the student's school and major. Therefore, they do not consider the type or field of employment that each student wants. In this paper, we propose a university educational contents recommendation scheme for job curation services. The proposed scheme extracts companies that a user is interested in by analyzing his/her activities in the job curation system. The proposed scheme selects graduates or mentors based on the reliability and similarity of graduates who have been employed at the companies of interest. The proposed scheme recommends customized subjects, comparative subjects, and autonomous activity lists to users through collaborative filtering.
Recommender system recommends the items expected to be purchased by a customer in the future according to his or her previous purchase behaviors. It has been served as a tool for realizing one-to-one personalization for an e-commerce service company. Traditional recommender systems, especially the recommender systems based on collaborative filtering (CF), which is the most popular recommendation algorithm in both academy and industry, are designed to generate the items list for recommendation by using 'overall rating' - a single criterion. However, it has critical limitations in understanding the customers' preferences in detail. Recently, to mitigate these limitations, some leading e-commerce companies have begun to get feedback from their customers in a form of 'multicritera ratings'. Multicriteria ratings enable the companies to understand their customers' preferences from the multidimensional viewpoints. Moreover, it is easy to handle and analyze the multidimensional ratings because they are quantitative. But, the recommendation using multicritera ratings also has limitation that it may omit detail information on a user's preference because it only considers three-to-five predetermined criteria in most cases. Under this background, this study proposes a novel hybrid recommendation system, which selectively uses the results from 'traditional CF' and 'CF using multicriteria ratings'. Our proposed system is based on the premise that some people have holistic preference scheme, whereas others have composite preference scheme. Thus, our system is designed to use traditional CF using overall rating for the users with holistic preference, and to use CF using multicriteria ratings for the users with composite preference. To validate the usefulness of the proposed system, we applied it to a real-world dataset regarding the recommendation for POI (point-of-interests). Providing personalized POI recommendation is getting more attentions as the popularity of the location-based services such as Yelp and Foursquare increases. The dataset was collected from university students via a Web-based online survey system. Using the survey system, we collected the overall ratings as well as the ratings for each criterion for 48 POIs that are located near K university in Seoul, South Korea. The criteria include 'food or taste', 'price' and 'service or mood'. As a result, we obtain 2,878 valid ratings from 112 users. Among 48 items, 38 items (80%) are used as training dataset, and the remaining 10 items (20%) are used as validation dataset. To examine the effectiveness of the proposed system (i.e. hybrid selective model), we compared its performance to the performances of two comparison models - the traditional CF and the CF with multicriteria ratings. The performances of recommender systems were evaluated by using two metrics - average MAE(mean absolute error) and precision-in-top-N. Precision-in-top-N represents the percentage of truly high overall ratings among those that the model predicted would be the N most relevant items for each user. The experimental system was developed using Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). The experimental results showed that our proposed system (avg. MAE = 0.584) outperformed traditional CF (avg. MAE = 0.591) as well as multicriteria CF (avg. AVE = 0.608). We also found that multicriteria CF showed worse performance compared to traditional CF in our data set, which is contradictory to the results in the most previous studies. This result supports the premise of our study that people have two different types of preference schemes - holistic and composite. Besides MAE, the proposed system outperformed all the comparison models in precision-in-top-3, precision-in-top-5, and precision-in-top-7. The results from the paired samples t-test presented that our proposed system outperformed traditional CF with 10% statistical significance level, and multicriteria CF with 1% statistical significance level from the perspective of average MAE. The proposed system sheds light on how to understand and utilize user's preference schemes in recommender systems domain.

Recently, the technology of recommendation of POI (Point of Interest) related technology is getting attention with the increase of big data related to consumers. Previous studies on POI recommendation systems have been limited to specific data sets. The problem is that if the study is carried out with this particular dataset, it may be suitable for the particular dataset. Therefore, this study analyzes the similarity and correlation between stores using the user visit data obtained from the integrated sensor installed in Seoul and Songjeong roads. Based on the results of the analysis, we study the preference prediction system which recommends the stores that new users are interested in. As a result of the experiment, various similarity and correlation analysis were carried out to obtain a list of relevant stores and a list of stores with low relevance. In addition, we performed a comparative experiment on the preference prediction accuracy under various conditions. As a result, it was confirmed that the jacquard similarity based item collaboration filtering method has higher accuracy than other methods.
Recommender Systems have been huge influence users and business more and more. Recently the importance of E-commerce has been reached rapid growth greatly in world-wide COVID-19 pandemic. Recommender system is the center of E-commerce lively. Top ranked E-commerce managers mentioned that recommender systems have a major influence on customer's purchase such as about 50% of Netflix, Amazon sales from their recommender systems. Most algorithms have been focused on improving accuracy of recommender system regardless of novelty, diversity, serendipity etc. Recommender systems with only high accuracy cannot satisfy business long-term profit because of generating sales polarization. In addition, customers do not experience enjoyment of shopping from only focusing accuracy recommender system because customer's preference is changed constantly. Therefore, recommender systems with various values need to be developed for user's high satisfaction. Reranking is the most useful methodology to realize diversity of recommender system. In this paper, diversity of recommender system is represented through constructing high similarity with users who have different preference using each user's purchased item's category algorithm. It is distinguished from past research approach which is changing the algorithm of recommender system without user's diversity preference level. We tried to discover user's diversity preference level and observed the results how the effect was different according to user's diversity preference level. In addition, graph-based recommender system was used to show diversity through user's network, not collaborative filtering. In this paper, Amazon Grocery and Gourmet Food data was used because the low-involvement product, such as habitual product, foods, low-priced goods etc., had high probability to show customer's diversity. First, a bipartite graph with users and items simultaneously is constructed to make graph-based recommender system. However, each users and items unipartite graph also need to be established to show diversity of recommender system. The weight of each unipartite graph has played crucial role changing Jaccard Distance of item's category. We can observe two important results from the user's unipartite network. First, the user's diversity preference level is observed from the network and second, dissimilar users can be discovered in the user's network. Through the research process, diversity of recommender system is presented highly with small accuracy loss and optimalization for higher accuracy is possible controlling diversity ratio. This paper has three important theoretical points. First, this research expands recommender system research for user's satisfaction with various values. Second, the graph-based recommender system is developed newly. Third, the evaluation indicator of diversity is made for diversity. In addition, recommender systems are useful for corporate profit practically and this paper has contribution on business closely. Above all, business long-term profit can be improved using recommender system with diversity and the recommender system can provide right service according to user's diversity level. Lastly, the corporate selling low-involvement products have great effect based on the results.
Global e-commerce websites offer personalized recommendation services to gain sustainable competitiveness. Existing studies have offered personalized recommendation services using quantitative preferences such as ratings. However, offering personalized recommendation services using only quantitative data has raised the problem of decreasing recommendation performance. For example, a user gave a five-star rating but wrote a review that the user was unsatisfied with hotel service and cleanliness. In such cases, has problems where quantitative and qualitative preferences are inconsistent. Recently, a growing number of studies have considered review data simultaneously to improve the limitations of existing personalized recommendation service studies. Therefore, in this study, we identify review and rating mismatches and build a new user profile to offer personalized recommendation services. To this end, we use deep learning algorithms such as CNN, LSTM, CNN + LSTM, which have been widely used in sentiment analysis studies. And extract sentiment features from reviews and compare with quantitative preferences. To evaluate the performance of the proposed methodology in this study, we collect user preference information using real-world hotel data from the world's largest travel platform TripAdvisor. Experiments show that the proposed methodology in this study outperforms the existing other methodologies, using only existing quantitative preferences.
Recommendation system plays a significant role on relieving difficulties of selecting information among rapidly increasing amount of information caused by the development of the Internet and on efficiently displaying information that fits individual personal interest. In particular, without the help of recommendation system, E-commerce and OTT companies cannot overcome the long-tail phenomenon, a phenomenon in which only popular products are consumed, as the number of products and contents are rapidly increasing. Therefore, the research on recommendation systems is being actively conducted to overcome the phenomenon and to provide information or contents that are aligned with users' individual interests, in order to induce customers to consume various products or contents. Usually, collaborative filtering which utilizes users' historical behavioral data shows better performance than contents-based filtering which utilizes users' preferred contents. However, collaborative filtering can suffer from cold-start problem which occurs when there is lack of users' historical behavioral data. In this paper, hybrid music recommendation system, which can solve cold-start problem, is proposed based on the playlist data of Melon music streaming service that is given by Kakao Arena for music playlist continuation competition. The goal of this research is to use music tracks, that are included in the playlists, and metadata of music tracks and playlists in order to predict other music tracks when the half or whole of the tracks are masked. Therefore, two different recommendation procedures were conducted depending on the two different situations. When music tracks are included in the playlist, LightFM is used in order to utilize the music track list of the playlists and metadata of each music tracks. Then, the result of Item2Vec model, which uses vector embeddings of music tracks, tags and titles for recommendation, is combined with the result of LightFM model to create final recommendation list. When there are no music tracks available in the playlists but only playlists' tags and titles are available, recommendation was made by finding similar playlists based on playlists vectors which was made by the aggregation of FastText pre-trained embedding vectors of tags and titles of each playlists. As a result, not only cold-start problem can be resolved, but also achieved better performance than ALS, BPR and Item2Vec by using the metadata of both music tracks and playlists. In addition, it was found that the LightFM model, which uses only artist information as an item feature, shows the best performance compared to other LightFM models which use other item features of music tracks.
This study analyzed the contents and changes by year of metadata research that appeared in the study of domestic movie curation from the viewpoint of art management. The research method used thesis search site to search 'movie' and 'metadata' as keywords, and analyzed them in 4 stages of change according to the research trend by year, purpose of research content, analysis by use, and type of recommendation method. As for research results, movie metadata research is highly interested in user-side research, and is developing from an introduction stage to an evolutionary stage of recommendation to a sharing and participation stage. It was concluded that movie curation evolved into 6 stages: search support, content-based, collaborative filtering, hybrid, artificial intelligence, and curation.
