Hybrid Multi-System-on-Chip Architecture as a Rapid Development Approach for a High-Flexibility System

  • In this paper, we propose a hybrid multi.system-on-chip (H-MSoC) architecture that provides a high-flexibility system in a rapid development time. The H-MSoC approach provides a flexible system-on-chip (SoC) architecture that is easy to configure for physical- and application-layer development. The physical- and application-layer aspects are dynamically designed and modified; hence, it is important to consider a design methodology that supports rapid SoC development. Physical layer development refers to intellectual property cores or other modular hardware (HW) development, while application layer development refers to user interface or application software (SW) development. H-MSoC is built from multi-SoC architectures in which each SoC is localized and specified based on its development focus, either physical or application (hybrid). Physical HW development SoC is referred to as physical-SoC (Phy-SoC) and application SW development SoC is referred to as application-SoC (App-SoC). Phy-SoC and App-SoC are connected to each other via Ethernet. Ethernet was chosen because of its flexibility, high speed, and easy configuration. For prototyping, we used a LEON3 SoC as the Phy-SoC and a ZYNQ-7000 SoC as the App-SoC. The proposed design was proven in real-time tests and achieved good performance.

Development of an Application Prototype for Small-Scale Construction Safety Management (소규모 건축공사 안전관리용 애플리케이션 프로토타입 개발)

  • In Korea, there is a lack of adequate safety management for small-scale construction work, particularly when compared to large-scale construction projects. The number of construction disasters is also higher on small-scale construction sites. In this regard, this study aimed to develop the application prototype to support the safety management of small-scale construction projects. The major findings of the research are as follows. 1) About 60% of construction disasters and death occurred on small-scale construction sites over the last two years. In addition, institutional support and costs for safety management were found to be insufficient. 2) The items of the application for the small-scale construction safety management were constructed on the basis of the safety management of large-scale construction work. The contents of the application were confirmed based on a survey of small-scale construction project managers. 3) The application algorithm was developed with a focus on the roles of management subjects and information exchange. For transition from the application prototype presented in this study to a commercial product, further research needs to be conducted regarding the reflection of user requirements and application management subjects.

  • Business models in open market systems targeting smart phone users are determined by several important factors. First, by providing developers efficient technical platforms, it contains a setting for developers to learn, apply and improve the skills relating to the product category easily while they stay beyond a corporate boundary. Second, by the first condition, a huge population of talented developers becomes to join a specific open market where will invite more customers to use their applications. Hence it will attract more and more developer participants who will finally give a rise to a persistent market growth. Third, the evaluation system between platform providers and application producers, and one between application producers and application users may underlie the trust relationships between them. The research conducted a multiple embedded case study to test the success factors of open market based business models. It focused on smart phone game communities that have installed user evaluation, and feedback systems. The user innovation empowerment model within the social game networks has highlighted the theories on the roles and characteristics of lead users, and lead user network behaviors for future NPD participations.

  • Interworking Web Application to share the resource between Battlefield Management Systems(BMS) is critical issues for accomplishment of information superior. However, authentication system of BMS differ from each other because of having the independent plan for system build. This problem causes inefficiency such as the information insufficiency owing to not share web application and the need of additional laptops. To solve the problem, in this paper, we propose the improved certificate acquisition and verification algorithm for the user of different BMS. By testing the proposed algorithm appling to the real field, we verify the performance of proposed method.

  • In this paper, opencv and android studio are used to distinguish between objects ahead of the blind. When the movement is detected in a positive direction in connection with the camera of the smartphone, the user is informed that the part of the camera is being rabelified and continues to track using the mean shift algorithm. A C ++ program based on OpenCV-based was used for real-time motion observation and the application will be produced by android studio. As a result of the study, objects that move with Labeling are identified and the box area is specified using the mean shift algorithm to move the box along with the object to track objects in real time.

Design of Multi-dimensional Contents Retrieval UI for Mobile IPTV

  • Since two-way interactive broadcasting service began, remote controls have been fitted with 4 color buttons, which enables interaction and convenience to increase between users and content. Currently, diverse studies on IPTV are in progress. Particularly, as the mobile market rapidly grows, studies on mobile IPTV and on linkage with other media are constantly increasing. However, mobile IPTV has never been studied until now. In that sense, this present study attempted to design a mobile-based IPTV UI that could use a multi-dimensional search method based on consistent criteria for content search. As a result, the proposed IPTV UI is fitted with more usability and functionality for 4 color buttons. The UI designed in this study was compared to the IMDb Android Application, which uses GOMS-KLM. The results showed that the performance process was reduced by three stages, and that the performance time was reduced by more than 17.9%. Therefore, the conclusion can be reached that the proposed UI is effective for a fast search of contents.

  • In this thesis, Wi-Fi Direct which can communicate with other device without AP, we study how to be selected GO considering multi-user connection and we apply it to application. We give the weight how many time a device was GO and how many time the device connected with other devices in 24 hours. With this value, the device is selected to GO when other devices request the connection. We show that the application which we implemented select right GO.

  • Recently, the world's Information Society, already central to humankind, is rapidly changing towards a fully ubiquitous computing society through the development of USN technology. USN application web services provide convenience through environment recognition as well as automatic recognition of specific situations all through the use of USN technology. It has been proven that it can also enable the safety of human life by providing an optimal service through real-time management. Therefore, USN application web services using such technology can be applied to various aspects of life. In this paper, we have implemented a scenario of with a specific user requirement regarding collected meta-data and sensing data based USN technology. We have implemented a visualization of the solutions suitable for each scenario.

  • Various kinds of studies for building up U-Korea are now underway. Especially, many results of educational application field such as U-Learning and U-Campus applying a USN technique have been founding. There are not, however, enough researches for the student management related to elementary, middle and high school. Therefore, this paper will suggest effective application system of student management which is one of the application systems for a user - centered environment using RFID and NEIS system in Ubiquitous. This system is enable to make it efficiently managed and transmitted students' data about their location and the details of their counsel(career, health and so on).

  • 본 논문에서는 가상현실에서 헤드 마운티드 디스플레이(Head mounted display, HMD) 사용자와 Non-HMD 사용자에게 사용자의 걷기, 뛰기, 절름발이 움직임을 몰입감 있게 표현하기 위한 새로운 가상현실(VR, Virtual Reality) 인터페이스를 제안한다. 가상현실에서는 몰입감을 높이기 위해 시각적 감각을 활용한 HMD와 사용자의 자세나 움직임을 추적하는 장비를 활용하지만, 일반적인 사용자들에게 HMD 보급은 많이 이루어져 있지 않으며, 비용적인 측면과 멀미로 인해 가상현실 콘텐츠에 몰입하기 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 효율적으로 몰입도를 높이고 비용적인 부담을 줄여주기 위해 아두이노를 활용한 새로운 보행 인터페이스 장치를 제안한다. 보행 인터페이스 장치는 사용자의 다리 가속도 정보를 기반으로 사용자의 상태 변화에 맞게 패턴을 설정하여 사용자의 걷기, 뛰기, 절름발이 움직임을 통해 사용자 캐릭터의 움직임을 제어하고 표현할 수 있는 새로운 결과를 보여준다.
