Understanding Users' Continuing Use of Hedonic Information Systems (쾌락적 정보시스템의 지속적 사용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the factors affecting users' continuing use of Hedonic Information Systems(HIS). Focusing on users' post-adoption behaviors, this study proposes a research model which incorporates technology acceptance theory into expectation disconfirmation theory and investigates the causal relationship among five factors; perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, disconfirmation, user satisfaction, and continuance intention to use a blog as HIS. The results show that satisfaction is significantly influenced by disconfirmation and post expectations(perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use), and in particular the impact of disconfirmation on user satisfaction is stronger than those of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. The results also indicate that while perceived usefulness and user satisfaction have significant impacts on continuance intention, perceived ease of use does not do so and has only an indirect impact on continuance intention through perceived usefulness and user satisfaction.

Determinants of the User's Satisfaction and Continued Usage Intention in IPTV Services (IPTV 서비스 이용자의 만족과 지속이용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the influecing factors on the user's satisfaction and continued usage intention in IPTV services. For this purpose, a research model and hypotheses are developed based on the relevant literature reviews. Data have been collected from 310 users who have used IPTV and the research hypotheses were tested by covariance structural model analysis. The results of this empirical study are summarized as follows. First, perceived enjoyment was confirmed to have a positive effect on user's satisfaction and continued usage intention, however, we found no evidence of a statistically significant relationship between perceived enjoyment and perceived usefulness. Second, perceived ease of use was found to positve influence perceived usefulness, however, we found no evidence of a statistically significant influece on user's satisfaction. Third, confirmation was found to positively influence satisfaction and continued usage intention. Fourth, perceived usefulness had a positive influence on continued usage intention, and both perceived usefulness and satisfaction had a positive influence on continued usage intention. Based on these findings, we suggested the implications and further research directions.

  • The MSIP has implemented "Act on The Development of Cloud Computing and Protection of Its Users" from September 2015 and invigorated the cloud service industry. The act mainly includes the improvement cloud computing reliability and user protection for the development foundation and use activation. In order to expand the cloud market, it is important to increase the reliability of individual users. However, practical discussions and approach for cloud services adoption are still limited. In fact, there is no agreement standard for domestic cloud services. As a user agreement is not standardized, users feel difficulty compare to each agreement of cloud service provider and may be damaged because of unfair terms. Thus, it is necessary to examine the unfairness of cloud service agreement for user protection. This study analyzes domestic and foreign cloud service agreements including Practical Guide to Cloud Service Agreement of Cloud Standards Customer Council and suggests the direction of the standard agreement of cloud services.

Economic Analysis for Packaged Software Adoption : Considering the Number of Concurrent Users (동시 사용자수를 고려한 패키지 소프트웨어 구매에 관한 경제성 분석)

  • When your company buys packaged software, the company needs to determine how many software licenses must be purchased. If the quantity is too small, it will be not enough for the users to access the programs at anytime within the company. Conversely, if the quantity is too large, they will waste a lot of money. In this paper, we surveyed several number of researchers of K institute and derived the using pattern of a specific packaged software. We estimated a proper number of packaged software licenses by Erlang Loss Function, the Engset Model, and simulation model. With the results of the three methodologies, we were able to empirically verify economic benefits of packaged software purchase by comparing NPV (Net Present Value) between user licenses and network licenses. Consequently, TCO of user licenses is much higher than that of network licenses. We had probabilistically calculated proper number of licenses based on the using pattern of users. Hence, this paper will be useful for decision makers who are going to determine package software's type and quantity from an economic perspective.

An Empirical Study on User's Intention to Use Government Portal Sites: Moderating Effects of Ambiguity & Government Supports (정부포털 사이트 이용의도에 미치는 요인 - 모호성과 정부지원의 조절효과 -)

  • Government uses the Internet technology to create electronic Government(e-Government). E-Government is an on-going project, and it represents a strong intention of Korean government to make effective and smooth communication between Korean government and its people. To achieve this purpose, government portal sites is one of projects of e-government, being a common gateway for users to find information and to communicate with the government concerning many matters/any matter. However, user's attitudes and behaviors explaining why they intend to use government portal sites is a scant. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to investigate empirically the determinants influencing users' intention to use government portal-sites. Starting with DeLone & McLean's Updated Information Success Model(2003), this study suggests three qualities(Information Quality, Systems Quality, and Service Quality) and two moderating effects(Ambiguity and Government Supports), which affect the perceived usefulness of government portal sites. Results show that the hypotheses were supported. The findings of the study suggest not only a new theoretical model for IS research, but also the important indicators of a successful usage of e-Government portal sites.

The Effect of Perceived Risk on the Intention to Adopt Mobile Banking Services (인지된 위험이 모바일 뱅킹 수용 의도에 미치는 영향)

  • Mobile banking is one of the most representative services applied to the mobile technology. However, there are few recent studies about the user acceptance of mobile banking, and prior studies only have been related to the positive effects of the service acceptances such as e-commerce and Internet banking service. The purpose of this research is to grasp the particular risk essentials in mobile banking which customers perceive, and the risk degree of user recognition which affect customer intention to adopt mobile banking through the exploratory research. The perceived risk is segmented into the performance risk, financial risk, time risk, social risk (or psychological risk), and privacy risk based on Cunningham's research (1967) and other recent studies. In the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), we have attempted to determine how different perceived risks have influence on the mobile banking adoption intentions of both the mobile banking users and potential users. The results indicate that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and social influence have positive influences on the intention to use mobile banking service while perceived risk has a negative influence on the intention to use and performance expectancy.

A Study on the affecting factors of Kakao Bank usage in terms of service types (서비스 유형에 따른 카카오뱅크 이용 영향 요인에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the adoption of Kakao Bank in terms of benefits (functional, social, experiential, economic benefits) and differentiated services (customization and service diversity) considering service types. Benefits are personal value consumers attach to the product or service attributes and, therefore, more important than attributes of service itself when using Kakao Bank in the internet based environment. Data was collected using an online and offline survey of 131 Kakao Bank users and analyzed the data using structural equation model (SEM). The results of empirical analysis using SmartPLS show that functional benefit, experiential benefit, and customization are significantly related to the user's satisfaction, but economic benefits, social benefit, and service variety are not. Customer's satisfaction are also showed significantly to be related to the all types of Kakao Bank usage(balance check, transfer, and other services). This study has the significance in that it examines the user's satisfaction and usage of Kakao Bank in terms of benefits and differentiated services while other studies analyzed banking services focusing on the attributes of banking channel itself.

A Study for Efficient Transaction Management in Broadcast Environments (방송 환경에서 효율적인 트랜잭션 관리 방법에 관한 연구)

  • In data broadcast environments, data is disseminated from a small number of sewers to a much larger number of clients. The advancing technology of hardware and increasing needs of users' have extended a broadcast environments. A mobile environment use the data broadcasting. A user carrying a portable computer can submit the operations of a transaction. Some limitations such as the poor-resource, user mobility, and low bandwidth are difficult to apply traditional transaction management to the mobile environments. So, the new mechanisms are needed and one of the them is the correctness criteria of transactions. Serializability is the most used criteria, but serializability is not appropriate to the broadcast environment because unnecessary abort and additional message exchanges are occurred. Hence, in this paper, we will address the need of the new correctness criteria weaker than serializability and describe the adoption of the update consistency.

Empirical Study on the Ubiquitous Computing Characteristics Affecting the Use of U-Service (U-서비스 이용에 영향을 미치는 유비쿼터스 특성에 관한 실증연구)

  • Ubiquitous computing is enhancing computer use by making many computers available throughout the physical environment, but making them effectively invisible to the user. To facilitate the successful adoption and diffusion of ubiquitous computing, it is necessary to figure out the factors affecting the use of U-service. Though the research related to ubiquitous computing has been vigorously conducted from the aspect of system and service provider, there have been very few studies that focus on the user's perspective. Therefore, this study attempts to figure out major factors which are dedicated to the development of ubiquitous computing and u-service, and that ultimately influence the u-business outcome. This study derived the factors that characterize u-service, such as ubiquity, contextual offer, reliability, invisibility, and confidentiality, which are then combined in the TAM model and carry out the path analysis. The research findings indicate that ubiquity affects both the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. The reliability and confidentiality were found to affect the perceived usefulness, whereas the contextual offer and invisibility turned out to influence the perceived ease of use. Finally, the relationship among the perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and the attitude toward using are identical with the previous research findings related to the technology acceptance model(TAM).

A Study on the Acceptance Intention for Smart Phone by the Innovation Diffusion Theory: Focused on Smart Phone Non-Users (혁신확산이론에 따른 스마트폰 수용의도에 관한 연구: 스마트폰 미사용자를 중심으로)

  • This study is progressed for understanding of the acceptance intention differentiated through the view of smart phone non-user's adopting plan. And the research model is proposed in the view of new technology adopting, Innovation Diffusion Theory, Rogers 1995, and Technology Acceptance Model, Davis 1989. In the survey, SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 are used to analyze the 685 smart phone non-users data. The results of the feasibility analysis and the factor analysis show the measured variables determined in the statistical significant range. Also, 11 hypotheses, among the 16 hypotheses, are adopted by the hypothesis tests through the path analysis, one-way-ANOVA and hierarchial regression analysis. The results indicate variables affect on the non-smart phone user's adopting intention. The primary factor is the perceived usefulness, secondary factor is the social property, and the rest is the playfulness. And, the primary adoption factor is affected to early majority and late majority among each innovation adopters.
