Background : There are many books on ancient medicine among the Dunhuang books found at a cave in Dunhuang, most of which were transcribed during Tang dynasty, reflecting ancient theories and practices. Objective and Material : To investigate the usage of the terms of three pairs of yin and yang as acupoint names, 4 books on acupuncture and moxibustion among Dunhuang books were examined. Results and Conclusion : Investigation of the usage of the terms of three pairs of yin and yang in the scripts and illustrations of 4 Dunhuang books which are also the names of 12 main meridians revealed that the terms of three pairs of yin and yang were used as the names of specific acupoints so called three pairs of yin and yang acupoints. The significance of the terms of three pairs of yin and yang as the names of specific acupoints are discussed focusing on the early form and development of meridian theory.

Subject headings support the effective access of children's picture books. However, it is difficult to select subject terms from titles or table of contents in children's picture books because of their relatively little textual information. Therefore, it is necessary to assign subject terms to each picture book. However, it is not adequate to use general subject headings because the types and levels of general subject headings are different from special subject headings for the children's materials. For this reason, this study aims to develop subject headings for children's picture books. The subject terms in A to Zoo were selected, and the selected terms were translated into Korean and modified for the Korean culture and language. Other reference books, such as Elementary Korean Dictionary, were also used to determine adequate terms for children. The resulting subject headings were assigned to the recommended picture books for children and used to search by subject, browse, and recommend books.

The purpose of this study is to suggest design characteristics of picture books for silver generation empirically through academic consideration of necessity and characteristics of picture books targeting silver generation. Through an analytical result of literature materials such as library and information science, pedagogy, and literature therapeutics, and aging phenomenon, picture books help mental and physical health of silver generation, but picture books for silver generation are insufficient in comparison with demand. Therefore, a theoretical basis of study and development of fairy tale books for silver generation is acutely needed. This study suggested that close attention for characteristics of silver generation is needed to solve a problem about dyslexia of silver generation in story, picture(expression, size, layout, structure, and color), and typography of characteristic factors of picture on designing fairy tale books for silver generation, suggesting needs to develop picture books reflecting characteristics such as visual organ, body function, and psychological factor of silver generation. In addition, design characteristics for composition of picture books for silver generation will be used as part of advanced data in a study on solid analytical data through an actual analysis on silver generation in the future.

Recently, with the activation of eBook services, books are being published simultaneously as physical books and digitized eBooks. Paper books are more expensive than e-books due to printing and distribution costs, so demand for relatively inexpensive e-books is increasing. There are cases where previously published physical books cannot be digitized due to the circumstances of the publisher or author, so there is a movement among individual users to digitize books that have been published for a long time. However, existing research has only studied the advancement of the pre-processing process that can improve text recognition before applying OCR technology, and there are limitations to digitization depending on the condition of the book. Therefore, support for book digitization services depending on the condition of the physical book is needed. need. In this paper, we propose a method to support digitalization services according to the status of physical books held by book owners. Create images by scanning books and extract text information from the images through OCR. We propose a method to recover text that cannot be extracted depending on the state of the book using BERT, a natural language processing deep learning model. As a result, it was confirmed that the recovery method using BERT is superior when compared to RNN, which is widely used in recommendation technology.

The purpose of this study is to form a different evaluation method of academic libraries in Korea. In order to this product life cycle and product portfolio matrix have been used. While they are based upon products and services, their general concept is useful for library managers as they help to distinguish which books have potential for growth. Writer tried to transform them into book life cycle and book portfolio matrix as a tool for assessing the quality of stock on the library shelves. With this method, writer a n.0, ppraised practically the Sociology Collection of Pusan National University Library by the state of usage and classified them into four groups that were development books, growth books, maturity books, and declining books.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of whole language approach on the development of language abilities and story structure concepts for hearing impaired children. For this end, two research questions have been established. First, what is the effect of whole language program using story books on hearing impaired children’s language abilities? Second, what is the effect of whole language program using story books on hearing impaired children's story structure concept? Three subjects participated in the study. Each subject was scheduled for a 40-minute session two times a week. Subjects received 36 sessions of use animation activities for 3 months. The study used a multiple baseline across the subjects. The followings were the findings of this study. First, the whole language program using story books improved hearing impaired children's language abilities. Second, the whole language program using story books improved hearing impaired children's story structure concept.

Ninety-eight bestselling children's picture books from 2008 to 2014 were analyzed for multicultural education. The criteria used for the analysis included Culture, Diversity, Identity, Equity, Anti-bias, and Cooperation that were drawn from Kim & Park (2011). An examination of the books revealed that they contained concepts of Cooperation, Identity, Culture, and Diversity in their orders of frequency while ideas of Equity and Anti-bias were barely depicted. Differences between domestic and translated books were found. Translated picture books reflected Diversity more frequently than domestic ones. Under a criterion of Culture, Recognizing Differences and Similarities was more frequently portrayed in translated books while Respecting for Cultures was more frequently found in domestic ones. Findings were discussed in terms of bestselling picture books' limitations of dealing with critical multicultural issues, domestic picture books' lack of reflection of changing multicultural realities, fantasy picture books'dealing with critical multicultural issues through metaphors, and possible problems of the books conveying biased or confusing messages. It was suggested that an adult's role is essential when the bestselling literature is used for the purpose of multicultural education. Their deliberate guidance can help young children engaged in critical issues of race, gender, and ability and develop their multicultural sensitivities through literature.

Objectives : As for the effect of Polygonum multiflorum on malaria treatment, this study analyzed the characteristics of Herenyin use in Korea and the contents mentioned in major Herbs books of the past. Methods : This study searched, collected and analyzed in the literature and data DB including the contents in herbs books on the treatment of malaria with Polygonum multiflorum, and the contents of various medical books about Herenyin used in Korea, etc. Results :Since Ming and Qing dynasties, Polygonum multiflorum was used mainly for patients with malaria, whose vitality gets weakened with time. Such effects are described in numerous Herbs books. Herenyin, consisting of major medicinal materials of Polygonum multiflorum and ginseng, was also frequently used in malaria treatment in Korea in late Joseon, rather than in China since it was listed in "Jingyuequanshu". Conclusions : Based on the mechanism studies of Polygonum multiflorum with malaria treatment effects and the study of malaria treatment medication including Polygonum multiflorum, it is hoped that the development of new therapies for complete eradication of malaria will be made in the future.

This study developed e-book content in order to use e-books as a tool to provide more efficient classes to learners who are familiar with smart devices and online spaces. E-book contents were produced using Sigil-0.9.10. The development process is as follows. Before e-book development, it is necessary to prepare manuscript files, image files to be inserted, fonts to be used, and e-book covers. After inserting the book cover images, it is necessary to register the table of contents using the title tag and register the free fonts. Also, a style must be created for text or images used in the main text connected to a file containing the entire text. Then, after separating the entire text file into separate files according to each chapter, the text is completed in turn. E-books were produced focusing on hyperlink functions so that educational content and various example images could be accessed. Currently, there is a lack of research on e-books as textbooks in universities within the fashion design major. In the future, if e-book contents are developed according to the characteristics of courses and the level of learners, they can be used as effective teaching tools.

In an effort to investigate the overall trends of knit fabrics in fashion trends books, this study analyzed the components(fabric, yarn, gauge, thickness, knitting structure, pattern, dyeing and finishing) of knit fabrics in fashion trends books by the years and seasons from the S/S season of 2002 to the F/W season of 2011. Analyzed in the study were total 883 knit fabrics including the knit samples in Nelly Rodi Knitwear and Promostyl Fabrics. Collected data were put to frequency analysis with SPSS 12.0. Group mean analysis was also performed for thickness. The research results were as follows: As for knit fabrics in fashion trend books by the years and seasons, knit fabrics were most used in 2004 with similar frequency of knit fabrics among the seasons. As for fabric composition of knit fabrics, the uses of blend fabrics were considerably prominent both in S/S and F/W seasons and recorded the highest level in the S/S season of 2003 and the F/W season of 2002. As for gauge composition of knit fabrics, S/S seasons saw the most uses of fine G of 20G or higher, while F/W seasons saw the many uses of 12G-18G, which showed the highest frequency in 2002. As for knitting structure of knit fabrics, the plain stitch was used most both in S/S and F/W seasons and recorded the highest level in the S/S season of 2011 and the F/W season of 2007. As for pattern of knit fabrics, stripes and solid patterns were used most regardless of seasons. As for dyeing and finishing of knit fabrics, non-processed fabrics were used most, recording high frequency in the early 2000s.
