  • Urban conditions such as underground facilities and ambient noises due to cultural activity restrict the application of conventional geophysical techniques in general. We used the linear array microtremor technique which uses these noises as strong energy source. The result parameter of the survey is shear wave velocity profile which had been applied as an fundamental information for the determination of the rock support type in tunnel design. This study was the first case in Korea which utilized a surface geophysical technique yielding successful result in urban area especially under the existing rail ways. The quantitative relation between the shear wave velocity from this method and the rock mass rating(RMR) determined from the inspection of the cores recovered from the same boreholes showed high statistical relationship. These correlations were then used to relate the shear-wave velocity to RMR along the entire profile.

  • A railway vehicle should be satisfied with the safety criteria and ride comfort of passengers. A bogie of railway vehicle Is composed of many suspension components, such as springs, dampers and etc.. that have an influence on the dynamic behavior of the train wish the wheel/rail profiles and track geometries. Therefore, it Is necessary for engineers to check the Interference between vehicle limit and construction limit with considering the vehicle's behavior, because when the vehicle is running on curved track, it should be have enough clearance from infrastructure for safely, spacially In a subway system. This paper explains the effective method of analysis for vehicle limit considering the vehicle dynamic behavior and reviews the problem of vehicle limit for the Korean Standard Urban Train. The results show that the vehicle limit is over the construction limit when the Korean Standard Urban Train runs on the curved track with 180 m radius of curve.

열차운행계획을 반영한 수도권 도시철도 열차 혼잡도 분석모형 연구 (Train Crowdedness Analysis Model for the Seoul Metropolitan Subway : Considering Train Scheduling)

  • 수도권 도시철도 혼잡으로 인해 다양한 문제가 발생되고 있어 도시철도 혼잡을 정확히 분석하는 연구 또한 해결방안 중 하나일 것이다. 현재 계수법, 중량검지법, CCTV, 모바일 Wi-Fi 등을 활용한 혼잡도 분석방법론은 결과의 정확성이 낮거나 단일 노선 및 열차에만 국한되는 한계점이 존재한다. 본 연구에서는 도시철도 승객의 다중경로 이용행태와 수도권 도시철도 열차운행계획을 반영한 열차 혼잡도 분석모형을 제시하였다. 특히 열차 용량 초과시 승객이 대기한 후 다음 열차에 탑승하는 통행패턴을 고려하여 열차 혼잡도 산정의 정확성을 제고하였다. 열차 혼잡도는 10분 단위로 갱신되어 시민에게 혼잡정보 제공이 가능하므로 사회적 편익증대에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

  • Usually urban railways are built under ground thus the necessary condition of urban railroad, a linear-shaped track, causes a difficulty in enhancement of speed limits of urban rail. Also the underground construction of city railroad produces speed limit values reduced according to a speed code array, in case of speed decision according to the conventional block section division, thus onventionally it could not but apply speed limit values lower than actual safety speeds. In this study, The above two facts induced the author to study on a method to enhance speed limit values for CBTC within existing urban railroad sectors. Since it is possible to exchange data continuously and to control speeds in case of railroads based on CBTC, the author applied result values of speed limits, which were gained based on a railroad condition, a linear track, to the CBTC system without correction of the result values and then the author compared and analyzed, through simulation, the running times and the efficiencies of running energies between railway stations, between the existing fixed-block system and the CBTC system. As a result simulation, the improvement of speed and the deceleration distance of reduction confirmed that it was effective to reduce the time to travel between stations. A fixed block the set of constraints on the speed limit, he way the operation is optimized based CBTC speed limit by suggesting ways to reset the scheduled speed measures to improve were extracted.

역세권 세분화를 통한 도시철도 수요예측 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on Improvement of Demand Estimation in Urban Railway through Segmentations of Station Influence Areas)

  • 도시철도의 건설에 있어서 정확한 수요예측 과정은 매우 중요하고, 정밀한 타당성 검증이 요구되고 있다. 현재 도시철도 수요예측을 위한 교통존 기준은 행정동 단위를 기준으로 하고 있어, 역세권 특성이 반영되지 못하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 역세권의 범위를 세분화하고 거리별 수단분담특성을 파악하여, 도시철도 수요예측의 정밀도를 향상시키는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 사례지역의 거리별 도시철도 수단분담률을 분석한 결과 도심형의 경우에는 500m, 외곽형의 경우에는 1,000m의 역세권 범위 설정이 가능하였다. 또한 기존 행정동 기준의 수요예측에 비해 역세권 세분화에 따른 수요예측결과가 실제치에 근접하여 신뢰도의 향상을 도모할 수 있었다.

  • With the rapid industrial development, railways have become a main traffic means of transportation. However, rail traffic noise and vibration have become a major problem in urban areas which is a very serious issue for the living environment. Especially, railway noise induced by rail operations has influenced on the residents living near railway tracks. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the Raynoise modeling in railway applications. Generally, my acoustics have been used to investigate the effectiveness of noise barriers in railway applications and barriers are modeled using the commercial software Raynoise. A-weighted sound pressure level have been measured at six locations, 4m from the track and are compared with experimental values. Based on the analysis of the results, Comparison between numerical and experimental values are within 1dB (A). Also, when a train is m through the Raynoise modeling, the general influential sphere of railway noise can be determined. Therefore, this study will be using basic data in establishing effective railway noise prevention plans far the future. Also, we could know that is applicable of Raynoise modeling at railway noise.

  • In order to solve the problem of traffic holdups and environmental pollution(contamination), several metropolises are operating the subway and many local government plans hereafter the light rail vehicle operation and it is in the process of preparing. This point of time, it need to evaluate the comfortable characteristic of the seat which is closely connected with passenger and it should be reflected to the product design through the data analysis. The methods of the comfortable characteristic evaluation should be considered to various methods from physical factor to psychological factor. Among these, the most universal and possible quantitative measurement estimate through 'Body pressure measurement system'. From this paper, it was measured the body pressure of the subway seat which is in the process of operating in a domestic and it will be compared and analyzed the material & seat shape, so we evaluated the comfortable characteristic of the short-distance transportation railway vehicle. It was operated the man and woman who belongs in standard shape of Korean, we compared and analyzed the Peak position where the body pressure is visible and body pressure spread out.

  • The wide spread of DC electric railway systems such as urban rapid transits including heavy rail and light rail transits has significant ramification as the stray currents from return conductor rails can cause the electrochemical interference, that is, the electrolytic corrosion of both rails and outside underground metallic infrastructures. The immature understanding of either the railway authority who is responsible for establishing the necessary provisions at the design stage or the affected parties makes it difficult to prepare the optimum range of solutions for the long-pending interference problem. In advanced countries, however, numerous assessment studies have been carried out on the stray current interference, by which protective standards and regulations are provided under the collaboration and agreement of the related parties. In this paper, we introduce a european standard from IEC, namely, "IEC 62128-2:2003 railway applications-fixed installations -part 2: protective provisions against the effects of stray currents caused by d.c. traction systems" and a "Code of Practice" produced by Victorian electrolysis committee (VEC) based on "Electricity Safety Act 1998" and "Electricity safety (stray current corrosion) regulations 1999" of Victoria state, Australia.

도시철도 운행소음 저감용 훼어링시스템 연구 (A study on Fairing System for Traveling Noise Reduction in Urban Subway)

  • As the density and height of the buildings nearby subway lines get higher, the unprecedented residents' appeals for noise are on the rise. Furthermore, in accordance with the revision of enforcement regulations on the Noise and Vibration Control Act, the night time noise standards have been reinforced by 5dB effective on January 1st 2010 and the appropriate measures shall be taken accordingly. For the settlement of the public grievances against noise and vibration generated on tracks in at-grade and elevated section, the installation of continuously-welded-rail, rail lubrication system, improved fastening system and higher noise barrier is currently executed. Nevertheless, the noise and vibration levels in some areas are still exceeding the limits required in the regulation. Among the measures, an installation of higher noise barrier or noise tunnel seems to be the most effective way; however, it has limitations owing to the structural stability of existing elevated structures. The paper in consideration of the local conditions and foreign practices discusses the installation of fairing system under the train body as an noise insulation panel in order to reduce the rolling noise and under-carriage noise. Based on the result of this study, a performance verification test during actual train operation is in progress for further study.

  • Most rail system related simulators currently used are designed to simulate only one discipline system. This obviously assumes the other discipline systems are running regularly not being affected by the system being simulated. In this paper a multi discipline simulator is proposed and its design concept is presented. A multi discipline simulator is the simulator in which major subsystems with different technical discipline are simulated simultaneously. The advantage of the simulator is in that it makes it possible to analyze the systems behavior while other discipline system vary. With this we can identify the possible multi-discipline problems and even find their solutions. A proto type simulator has been developed using object oriented programming. Object concept was judged best suitable to model the various multi-discipline self-controlling railway subsystems. It was applied to the target system, which is under development by the Korea Railroad Research Institute. The test results shows it is very useful in designn verification. It could also be a good tool in research and development work to improve the system.
