Two-fluid Model 파라미터를 활용한 강우에 따른 도시부 네트워크 운영성 및 위험도 변화 분석 (Analysis of Urban Network Operability and Crash Risk Change Caused by Rainfall Using Two-fluid Model Parameters)

  • 1979년 Herman과 Prigogine에 의해 제안된 Two-fluid Model은 도시부 네트워크의 운영성을 설명하는 거시적인 모형으로서 네트워크 내 정지차량 비율과 평균 주행속도의 관계에 기초하고 있다. 이러한 Two-fluid Model의 파라미터는 교통류 특성에 따라 변화하므로 파라미터를 통한 운영성 분석 시 교통류 상태 변화를 규명하는 단계가 수반되어야 한다. 이에 본 연구는 Two-fluid Model의 파라미터를 활용하여 강우에 따른 교통사고 위험도를 비교하였고, 이로 인한 주행 행태가 도시부 네트워크의 운영성에 영향을 미침을 확인하였다. 먼저 Two-fluid Model 파라미터 추정결과, 맑은 날 대비 비가 온 날의 네트워크 운영성이 저하된 것으로 나타났다. 이후 운전자의 교통사고 위험인지 모형 계수를 산출하고 강우 여부에 따른 교통사고 위험도와 그에 따른 주행 행태 변화를 분석하였다. 오전·오후 시간대 모두 운전자는 맑은 날과 동일한 속도를 유지하였을 때 비가 온 날의 교통사고 위험도가 높을 수 있기 때문에, 위험도를 낮추기 위해 주행속도를 감속하는 경향을 보였다. 그러나 맑은 날 보다 비가 온 날의 위험도는 여전히 높은 것으로 파악되었다. 향후에는 도시부 교통망의 거시적 운영성과 사고 위험도 간의 관계를 보다 다양한 네트워크에서 분석하고 동시에 개선할 수 있는 방안을 연구해볼 필요가 있겠다.

구조방정식 모형을 이용한 도형식 가변안내표지판의 운전자 선호도 평가 모형 개발 (Developing a Structural Equation Model of Drivers' Preference on Route Diagrams of Variable Message Sign)

  • 도형식 가변안내표지판은 운전자들의 경로선택에 대한 의사결정을 지원하는 역할을 하며 운전자의 이해도와 시인성이 높아 도심부 도로 및 고속도로에 설치가 확대되고 있다. 그러나 도형식 가변안내표지판에 대한 운영방안이나 지침 등이 전무한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 도형식 가변안내표지판 표출면 구성에 따른 운전자의 선호도를 평가하는 모형을 개발하기 위하여 차량 시뮬레이터를 활용한 실험 및 설문조사를 수행하였다. 연구 결과 표출면의 구성요소 중 도로선형, 외곽선, 문자체 등의 디자인적인 요소보다는 문자높이, 노드수 등의 정보 제공 량이나 시인성과 관련된 부분이 운전자의 감성요인과 선호도에 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 도형식 가변안내표지판의 제공 정보 단위 수는 11단위 또는 12단위가 적절한 것으로 나타났으며, 이는 통행시간을 제공할 경우 3개의 노드, 통행시간을 제공하지 않을 경우 5개 노드의 정보를 제공하는 것이 적정한 수준임을 의미한다. 따라서 가변안내표지판을 설치할 때 운전자의 감성요인과 선호도를 높일 수 있는 구성요소를 고려하여 표출면을 설계하여야 한다.

  • The rectifier for Electric railway is one of the most important facilities in DC urban railway which converts power from KEPCO(AC 22.9kV) to the electric mil car(DC 1.5kV), therefore it should be managed as the best condition for the drive. There are several things to cause performance degradation and deterioration of parts such as pollutants occurred by it established under the ground such as dust or foreign substances, rapid changes of driving current, and pyrogen which put the rectifier for Electric railway in malfunction. On the flow of time, the rectifier for Electric railway is causing a malfunction or failure which drive electric rail car in operations as well as loss of life. In this research we try to find the way of removing the various components of mal-functions in the performance of the rectifier for Electric railway by Over-Haul and reform itself, which gives us to get the chance investment of the reduction, the reliability of power supply to the electric rail car.

INS/GNSS/NHC Integrated Navigation System Compensating for Lever Arm Effect between NHC Effective Point and IMU Mounting Location

  • Inertial Navigation System (INS)/Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) integrated navigation system can be used for land vehicle navigation. When the GNSS signal is blocked in a dense urban area or tunnel, however, the problem of increasing the error over time is unavoidable because navigation must be performed only with the INS. In this paper, Non-Holonomic Constraints (NHC) information is utilized to solve this problem. The NHC may correct some of the errors of the INS. However, it should be noted that NHC information is not applicable to all areas within the vehicle. In other words, the lever arm effect occurs according to the distance between the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) mounting position and the NHC effective point, which causes the NHC condition not to be satisfied at the IMU mounting position. In this paper, an INS/GNSS/NHC integrated navigation filter is designed, and this filter has a function to compensate for the lever arm effect. Therefore, NHC information can be safely used regardless of the vehicle's driving environment. The performance of the proposed technology is verified through Monte-Carlo simulation, and the performance is confirmed through experimental test.

도로변 측정을 이용한 2행정 스쿠터의 대기오염물질 배출특성 연구 (Emission Characteristics of a Passing Two-stroke Scooter using at a Roadside Measurement)

  • Although a scooter is a convenient transportation means for a short distance traveling with a light package in the congested urban center, it might be one of the significant sources of air pollutants to which many people can easily be exposed during its passing-by. In this paper, we measured concentrations of gases and particles emitted from a scooter at roadside with no other traffic. To understand the characteristics of scooter emissions with respect to driving speed (idling, 30 km/h) at the roadside, total particle number concentration, particle size distribution, average surface area of particles deposited in the alveolar region, and concentrations of black carbon, CO, and $NO_x$ were measured. The concentrations of the particle number, surface area of deposited particles, CO, and $NO_x$ were highly fluctuated in the scooter's idling condition. The trends of particle number concentration, CO, and $NO_x$ generation were similar to one another. When the scooter started to move, all of $NO_x$, CO and particle number concentrations increased and after it passed by at the speed of 30 km/h, the concentration peaks of the particles and gases appeared at the same time. Unimodal size distribution with ~70 and ~93 nm mode diameters was observed for the idling and cruising condition, respectively. From this work, we found that emission from a passing vehicle could be characterized using a roadside monitoring technique.

도로 기하구조와 탄소배출 저감의 연계성을 고려한 시케인 기하구조 조건의 개선에 관한 연구 (Study on Improved Road Geometry Conditions of Chicane Considering the Relationship between Road Geometry and Carbon Emissions Reduction)

  • PURPOSES: Recently, many local governments have applied chicanes for traffic calming to ensure environment-friendly comfortable and safe roads. However, the geometry of a chicane is designed for speed reduction using a curved portion. This study aims to improve the road geometry conditions of chicanes for reducing carbon emissions and maintaining appropriate driving speeds by considering the relationship between road geometry and carbon emissions. METHODS: This study was conducted as follows. First, carbon emissions corresponding to changing acceleration of vehicles were studied. Second, vehicle acceleration caused by the relationship between the curve radius and the straight length was studied. Accordingly, desirable conditions of curve radius and length of the straight section for reducing carbon emissions were proposed. RESULTS: The existing literature on chicanes present the minimum value of stagger length and path angle in the primary variable condition. This study suggests the maximum values of the curve radius and length of straight section in the primary variable condition. Therefore, if a vehicle's speed at a chicane is 30 km/h, this study suggests a curve radius of up to 24 m. In addition, if the vehicle's speed is 24 km/h, this study suggests a length of straight section of up to 6.6 m. These are the geometric conditions for considering the control of acceleration to the vehicle's maximum speed. CONCLUSIONS: This paper proposes an application of geometric conditions to reduce carbon emissions and maintain appropriate speeds of vehicles through a combination of curve radius and length of straight section.

현장재하시험을 통한 헬리컬파일의 지지력에 관한 연구 (Study on the Bearing Capacity of Helical Pile through Field Load Tests)

  • 본 연구에서는 헬리컬파일의 지지력 특성 규명을 위하여 현장재하시험을 통하여 얻은 실측 지지력과 이론식에 의해 산정된 예측 지지력을 비교 분석하였다. 헬리컬파일은 중공형 축에 중공형 축보다 직경이 큰 하나 혹은 다수의 나선형 원판을 부착시킨 형상의 파일이다. 헬리컬파일은 굴삭기에 부착된 회전관입기를 사용하여 파일을 지반에 회전 관입시키기 때문에 항타와 굴착이 필요한 다른 말뚝에 비해 소음이 작고, 비교적 소형 장비로 시공이 가능하여 공간이 협소한 도심지에서도 시공이 용이하다. 최근 들어 헬리컬파일을 적용한 기초 공법의 설계와 시공이 많이 실시되고 있으나 헬리컬파일의 지지력에 관한 연구는 설계와 시공 사례에 비하여 아직 미진하다. 현장재하시험은 이음부, 헬리컬파일의 규격, 재하시험의 종류, 그라우팅 실시 여부를 변수로 총 10회 실시하였다. 이론식에 의한 말뚝의 예측 지지력은 Individual bearing method와 Cylindrical shear method을 통하여 산정하였다.

Stress interactions between two asymmetric noncircular tunnels

  • The continually growing demand for underground space in dense urban cities is also driving the demand for underground highways. Building the underground highway tunnel, however, can involve complex design and construction considerations, particularly when there exists divergence or convergence in the tunnel. In this study, interaction between two asymmetric noncircular tunnels-that is, a larger main tunnel and a smaller tunnel diverging from the main tunnel, was investigated by examining the distributions of the principal stresses and the strength/stress ratio for varying geometric conditions between the two tunnels depending on diverging conditions using both numerical analysis and scale model test. The results of numerical analysis indicated that for the $0^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$, $60^{\circ}$ diverging directions, the major principal stress showed an initial gradual decrease and then a little steeper increase with the increased distance from the left main tunnel, except for $90^{\circ}$ where a continuous drop occurred, whereas the minor principal stress exhibited an opposite trend with the major principal stresses. The strength/stress ratio showed generally a bell-shaped but little skewed to left distribution over the distance increased from the left larger tunnel, similarly to the variation of the minor principal stress. For the inter-tunnel distance less than 0.5D, the lowest strength/stress ratio values were shown to be below 1.0 for all diverging directions ($0^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}$, $60^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$). The failure patterns observed from the model test were found to be reasonably consistent with the results of numerical analysis.

A Study on Arts and Crafts ideas with Works of William Morris

  • These days there is a flow of support for returning to design and handcraft, and the arts and crafts ideas of William Morris have an influence until the present over periods. The semanticity and methodology of guild production method supported by William Morris is studied. The foundation that human is in beautiful harmony with nature is on free labor and artistic life. In the organic relationship, the decline of art is understood as general crisis of culture, and human living condition should be changed in order to rouse the human sense of beauty and comprehension of art. Once human labor becomes artistic, the consumption living and local living become artistic as well. And then consumers desire more artistic works, structures, or urban spaces, and the demands for those move artificers to go toward producing more artistic works and structures. That is, the course of succession of art and culture through living is the driving force of social progress. Even if the period when Morris lived and the present are very different, this paper will shows that a large amount of art and culture will be greatly developed in twenty-first century which is 'the period led by cultural consumers', and the people directly creating art works will be also increased at the same time, as Alvin Toffler suggested. Furthermore, we can aware through this paper that such the people will rule the world. Finally it reached the period that we must face to 'making artistic life' as Morris expected a century ago. According to the result of this paper, we realized the study about Morris will contribute greatly to improve the quality of human life.

스크린 도어 모터 시스템의 동하중 상태 구동강성 검증 (A Study for the Screen Door Motor System Driving Stiffness of Dynamic Load Condition)

  • 초기 도시철도는 수송수단으로서의 역할만 요구되었으나 지하 승강장에 체류하는 시간이 길어짐에 따라 하나의 생활 공간으로 환경개선이라는 문제에 직면하게 되었다. 이에 따라 스크린 도어의 근간이 되는 슬라이딩 자동문은 고객의 편의와 출입을 통제하는 방법의 편리성을 이유로 대형 유통매장, 병원, 음식점, 관공서 등에 광범위하게 사용되고 있다. 이에 따라 스크린 도어는 승객의 편의와 안전 확보, 쾌적한 역사 조성 및 에너지 절약을 목적으로 필요할 뿐만 아니라, 요소부품의 설계 및 신뢰성 확보를 통한 스크린 도어 시스템 최적설계기술개발이 필요하게 되었다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 지하철 안전에 필요한 스크린 도어의 모터에 대한 설계 구동 강성을 검증하기 위해 구성 부품의 이론적 하중을 계산하고 해석 하였으며, 실험을 통해 검증하였다.
