  • In this paper, configuration of prototype 300kVA UPS system with unity input power factor is briefly described and a various types of rectifier for UPS application are discussed. Input LCL filter for PWM rectifier and output LC filter for PWM inverter are designed as a prototype and their principal characteristics are discussed.

  • 본 논문에서는 CAN(Controller Area Network) 통신을 이용한 전 디지털 UPS시스템의 병렬제어에 대해 기술한다. UPS 주제어기인 DSP 내부에 실장된 CAN모듈을 이용하여 별도의 상위제어기가 없는 효과적이고 간단한 UPS의 병렬제어 시스템을 제시하며 특히 고조파 순환전류를 제거하기 위한 PWM 동기 방법을 제안하고 시험을 통해 제안한 방법의 타당성을 입증하였다.

  • This paper describes a novel control method of a three-phase PWM inverter for uninterruptible power supply(UPS) applications. To obtain the fast dynamics and excellent harmonic characteristics, a new state feedback control technique is proposed. The proposed control consists of the inner-loop current and outer-loop voltage controllers with a load current estimator to reduce the effects of the load variations and nonlinearity. In order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control, the simulation is carried out for various load condition.

  • A new SPWM control method for Uninterrupted Power System(UPS) is presented. A triangle waveform is used as the reference signal. The desired SPWM control signal can be obtained more easily with a group of comparators. The output AC voltage can be regulated by controlling the lower reference and the upper reference of the comparators according to the feedback voltage. Basic principle, an actual circuit and the experimental results on a 500W UPS for computer system is discussed as an example.

  • 본 논문에서는 일반 사용자 수준에서 시스템 호출을 제어하는 기법을 제안하고 이를 위한 유닉스 기반 시스템에서 시스템 호출을 인터럽트 하는 기법을 기술한다. 제안된 방법은 OS 소스코드의 수정을 요구하지 않고 동적으로 적용이 가능하다. 또한 시스템 호출 제어기법의 응용으로 사용자의 시스템 자원 접근 및 권한을 제어하는 보안모델인 UPS (Unix Protection System)에 대하여 기술한다.

  • To manage lead-acid battery efficiently and to use it longer in UPS, the state of charge(SOC) indicator of the battery is needed. So a new approach to developing battery SOC indicator for UPS is discussed in this paper. This method to determining SOC by combining the available data of discharge characteristics of a battery with neural networks(NN) is presented. The 3-layered NN with back propagation algorithm has been used. Exprement results show that the proposed method is appropriate as SOC indicator of the battery.

  • This paper proposes the single-phase double-conversion UPS(Uninterruptible Power Supply) with ESS(Energy Storage System). The Proposed system is operating in three modes, which are normal mode, battery mode, and bypass mode. Not only in black-out but also in peak load times, the system is operating in battery mode which is using the stored energy of the battery to manage the power effectively. The validity of proposed system could be verified by simulations and experiments.

  • In this paper a development of 10KVA series-parallel compensated UPS is shown, which has high input power factor and sinusoidal output voltage regulation capability. Compared to conventional cascaded UPS, the size can be reduced significantly with high quality input and output waveforms. The front converter and the main inverter can be considered decoupled, hence the front converter and the main inverter can be designed independent of each other. In this paper, analysis and experimental results for an 10 KVA prototype are presented.

  • There are a lot of troubles during the transfer of the source of electric power in UPS (uninterruptible power supply system) which is indispensable to the industrial equipments. They cause blackout accidents, resulting in a great economic loss. After measuring and analyzing the transient phenomena happening during the transfer, this paper presents the solution of the troubles. The solution can be used as a basic material for maintenance and it can minimize the troubles occurring in UPS and enhance the reliability of it.

  • 본 논문에서는 멀티모듈 단상 UPS(Uninterruptible Power Supply) 시스템의 예측 제어기법을 제안한다. 제안한 예측 제어기법은 단상 UPS의 수학적 모델링을 통해 설계되었으며, 전류 예측제어를 통해 모드 절환 시 동특성을 향상시켰다. 제안하는 예측 제어기법은 PSIM 시뮬레이션을 통하여 검증하였다.
