구조변경을 통한 선박용 Provision Crane의 진동저감 (Vibration reduction of provision crane in a ship by structural dynamic modification)

  • A provision crane is generally installed on the upper deck to the rear of the accommodation of the ship in order to load and unload engine part or something heavy. There are two types of provision cranes: one is jib-type and the other is monorail-type. So the natural frequency of the jib-type crane equipment is low, therefore, there are some possibility of resonance between crane structure and the main excitation sources of the ship in normal operating range. This study describe a vibration reduction technique for provision crane by applying a proper countermeasure through finite element analysis and modal test. In order to find out weak point in design of provision crane, a sensitive analysis has been performed.

  • 선박건조에 있어서 대형 블록의 조립이 이루어지는 선행 탑재 및 탑재 단계에서 Tank Top과 Upper Deck의 V 개선 용접은 FCAW+SAW의 복합용접이 실시되고 있다. 그러나 가장 범용적 모재 두께인 18~20t의 경우 SAW 시공에만 약 5~6Pass가 소요됨으로써 다급한 진수 일정에 많은 지장을 초래하고 있다. 또한 능률 향상을 목적으로 용착량 증가효과를 얻기 위해 철분말이나 절선와이어를 개선면내에 충진하고 용접을 수행하나 획기적인 용접능률을 기대하기 어렵고 용접사 기량에 따라 용접 결함이 발생될 수 있다. 이에 따라 용접패스 수를 줄이고 결함 발생이 없는 용접기법 개발이 절실히 필요하였다. 이를 위해 매우 간단하고 효율적인 위빙장치를 제작하여 선탑/탑재 아래보기 용접이음에 1~2패스의 SAW 용접법을 개발하여 용접생산성은 물론 용접품질까지 획기적으로 향상시키는 기술 개발을 완료하였다.

  • Helidecks are vital structures that act as a last exit in an emergency. They transport people and goods to and from ships and offshore plants. When designing the structure of a helideck, it is necessary to comply with loading conditions and design parameters specified in existing professional design standards and regulations. In the present study, finite element analysis (FEA) was conducted with regard to a steel helideck mounted on the upper deck of a ship considering the emergency landing of the helicopter. The superstructure and substructure were designed, and the influence of various design parameters was analyzed on the basis of the FEA results.

  • In this paper, design sensitivity of vibration displacement and acceleration is computed and design sensitivity, the derivative information of responses with respect to design perameters, is used as a design guidance tool to reduce the vibration. First, the harmonic vibration analysis of deck and simplified ship structures is performed by finite element method and secondly continuum disign sensityivity for excessive dynamic response is computed by continuum method. Both the direct and modal frequency response methods for the finite element analysis are adopted. Sensitivities of structural components such as upper plate, side wall, bilge, bottom plate are compared and the reductionof vibration is obtained by the proper increase of thickness of each component.

  • The use of thin plate increases due to the need for light weight in large ship. Thin plate is easily distorted and has residual stress by welding heat. Therefore, the thin plates should be carefully joined to minimize the welding deformation. In this study, the welding deformation of PCTC which use a thin plate is investigated by using equivalent load method. The analysis model of 10, 11, 12, upper and garage deck is composed of thin plate of 6mm which is susceptible to welding heat. For two different welding sequences, the welding deformation is calculated and its trend is investigated. The influence of gravity on welding deformation is studied.

상자형부유체의 횡복원성에 미치는 Bulwark 의 영향 (On the Effect of Bulwarks on Transverse Stability of Box-type Vessels)

  • As per the expanding needs of marine exploitation, many floating structures have been built. Among these, box-type vessel is considered as the most basic shape, to which plant barges and crane barges belong. Stability problem is very important for vessel. In order to increase transverse stability, this paper employs bulwarks along the upper deck sides of box-type vessels and the emphasis is laid upon the effect of bulwarks on transverse stability. In the present paper, the calculation method of heeling moment acting to the ship due to hydrostatic pressure is suggested, and actual procedures of the calculation for box-type vessels with bulwarks are shown. Furthermore corresponding model tests are carried out in small water tank. Through the comparison between calculated and measured values, it is confirmed that the preset calculation method is useful. And employing bulwarks on box-type vessels is very effective for increase of transverse stability at the heeling angles from about 15 degrees to about degrees.

  • A comparative study on aseismatic performances of various base isolation systems for the multi-span continuous bridge is carried out. Several leading base isolation systems the LRB system the RF system the R-FBI system and the EDF system are considered, The displacement of the deck the deformation of the upper ends of the piers the shear force and the bending moment of the lower ends of the piers are obtained by using the accelerograms of the N00W component of El Centro earthquake(1940) and the N90W component of Mexico City earthquake(1985) Nonlinear time-history analysis is carried out. comparisons of the results with the conventional bearing show that the base isolation systems are very effective in reducing the forces transmitted to the superstructures. Furthermore the results also show that the friction-type base isolation systems are less sensitive to unexpected variations in frequency content of the ground acceleration. The R-FBI system shows a good aseismatic performance comparing with other base isolation systems.

Modal parametric changes in a steel bridge with retrofitting

  • This paper presents the status improvement of an old damaged deck type rural road steel truss bridge through the modal parametric study after partial retrofitting. The dynamic and static tests on bridge were carried out as in damaged state and after partial retrofitting. The dynamic testing on the steel bridge was carried out using accelerometers under similar environmental conditions with same speed of the moving vehicle. The comparison of the modal parameters i.e., frequency, mode shape mode shape curvature, modal strain energy, along with the deflection parameter are studied with respect to structural analytical model parameters. The status up gradation for the upper and downstream truss obtained was different due to differential level of damage in the bridge. Also after retrofitting the structural elemental behavior obtained was not same as desired. The damage level obtained through static tests carried out using total station indicated further retrofitting requirement.

Evaluation of the effect of rubble mound on pile through dynamic centrifuge model tests

  • Pile-supported wharves, port structures that support the upper deck, are installed on sloping ground. The sloping ground should be covered with a rubble mound or artificial blocks to protect the interior material from erosion caused by wave force. The behavior of the pile may vary during an earthquake if a rubble mound is installed on the slope. However, studies evaluating the effect of rubble mound on the pile during an earthquake are limited. Here, we performed dynamic centrifuge model tests to evaluate the dynamic behavior of piles installed in a slope reinforced with rubble mound. In the structure, some sections (single-pile, 2×2 group-pile) were selected for the experiment. The moment of the group-pile decreased by up to 26% upon installation of the rubble mound, whereas the moment of the single-pile increased by up to 41%, thus demonstrating conflicting results.

기계식 환기시스템에 의한 선내 오염물질 확산 특성 예측 (A Prediction on Indoor Contaminant Diffusion Characteristics of a Training Ship by Mechanical Ventilation System)

  • 본 연구는 기계식 환기장치에 의한 선박 선실 내의 환경오염물질 확산특성을 파악한 것으로, 연구성과는 다음과 같다. 오염발생 선실 내에서는 오염발생 35분 경과 후 오염물질이 대부분 제거되었고, 신선외기 도입율 변화에 따른 영향은 무시할 수 있었다. 오염원 선실에 인접한 선실의 오염물질 제거시간은 65분~100분 정도로 신선외기 도입율에 따라 차이가 발생했다. 상부 데크에 오염원 선실이 있는 경우가 하부 데크에 오염원 선실이 있는 경우에 비해, 오염농도는 10배 정도 높지만, 대표 공간 중 오염된 공간의 수는 오히려 1/2에 불과했다. 그러나 전체공간을 대상으로 한 평가에서는, 상부 데크에서 오염물질이 발생한 경우에는 Upper 데크 이상 상부 데크 내 공간의 50% 이상이 평가기준 0.001%, 0.01%, 0.1% 일 때 오염될 것으로 예측되었고, 하부 데크에서 오염물질이 발생하는 경우에는 하부 데크를 중심으로 오염공간이 많지만 오염판단기준 0.01%일 때에는 Shelter 데크 이상의 상부 데크에서도 오염선실이 나타났다. 한편, 신선외기 도입량 변화에 따른 오염농도 및 오염공간 비율을 분석한 결과 설계용량 대비 75% 이상의 외기가 도입될 때 선실 내 오염수준이 낮아지는 것으로 평가되었다.
