  • In this paper, an efficient algorithm is proposed to find parting lines(PL) and generate parting surfaces(PS) for an injection mold design. We used a Face-Edge Graph which can be made by B-rep information of solid model. The graph is useful for finding the peripheral-loop edges for PL and the inner-loop edges for hole-patch. The PS can be generated automatically by selecting pre-defined direction lines. We can create a core and cavity molds by trimming the raw stock block with the PS and the upper/lower faces of a product model. We implemented proposed method with Unigraphics API functions and C language, and tesed on Unigraphics V15.

  • Acquired cutis laxa is a rare disease. Owing to few reports on the condition, no statistical data have been produced. Cutis laxa is characterized by drooping skin, caused by decreased levels of dermal elastin, leading to reduced skin elasticity. The disease usually emerges on the neck or trunk and spreads throughout the body; however, it rarely involves the extremities. Moreover, cases localized to the face are rare. The objective of this clinical case report was to highlight this unusual disease in a 24-year-old female, with localization on the face and neck. The patient underwent surgery for treatment of bilateral ear lobe and eyelid skin laxity.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the change of soft tissue profile on lower face following retraction of incisors through orthodontic treatment. 31 Korean women with bialveolar protrusion who were treated with 4 first bicuspid extraction were selected. All of samples were treated from above 17 years of age. Lateral cephalometric head films taken before and after treatment were analyzed statistically. The results were obtained as follows. $\cdot$The ratio of upper incisor retraction to upper lip retraction and lower incisor retraction to lower lip retraction were 1.54:1 (r=0.746) and 0.92:1 (r=0.584) respectively $\cdot$It appeared during orthodontic treatment that UIS-LS was increased considerably and the others in soft tissue thickness measurements were slightly decresed. $\cdot$Analysis of correlation showed that the change of the upper lip (LS) with the change of maxillary central incisor (UIS) and the change of lower lip with the change of B point were most strongly correlated. $\cdot$The multiple regression equations were obtained to predict soft tissue profile change of lower face according to retraction of incisors.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate treatment effects of bionator in Class II division 1 malocclusion by FEM(Finite Element Method). The 73 subjects were classified into good result group and poor result group in reference to posttreatment molar relation, posttreatment overbite and overjet, posttreatment profile, and relapse. Pretreatment and posttreatment lateral cephalograms were taken and FEM was performed. The results were as follow; 1. There was no statistical significance in treatment changes between the sexes, and between the treatment result groups. 2. Treatment changes were not significantly different among the age groups. 3. The effect of treatment period groups on skeletal and dentoalveolar changes were analyzed using ANOVA. Body of maxilla, upper incisor, anterior face, ramus, upper anterior face, lower anterior face and treatment effect were correlated with the treatment period, but correlation coefficients were low. 4. The results of present investigation confirm that Class II bionator can assist in the correction of Class II division 1 malocclusion, mainly due to dentoalveolar changes. 5. There is significant difference in skeletal and dentoalveolar pattern between good result group and poor result group. In poor result group, maxilla was relatively downward and backward rotated, mandible was relatively backward rotated, upper incisor was in relatively lingual position, lower incisor was in relatively labial position.

  • To see sunlight condition around in storage room, this study analyzers the scope both of sunlight and of the shade of sun into upper and lower window according to seasons. For this, this study investigates sun's seasonal changes, its effect of sunlight and notes antinomic conditions for ventilation and draft performance. In this, Architects of Jangkyunggak tride to block discoloration and fading due to ultraviolet rays and visible rays and block deterioration drying of the surface of Kyung-Pan due to infrared rays by oppressing sunlight flowing by means of narrowing the area of the upper window at front face that has a direct influence of Pan-Ga to avoid the exposure to direct sunlight.

  • 19 years old female had untreated Veau classification class II cleft palate with ectopic eruption of upper right lateral incisor and congenital missing of lower lateral incisors. Upper left lateral incisor, left first molar aid lower left first molar were root restswithperiapicalpathologiclesions. So all root rests were extracted and prosthodontic rehabilitation after orthodontic treatment was planned. She was treated by means of multibanded system with face bow. After 23 months all orthodontic correction were achieved and, as soos as debanding procedure was done she was referred to oral surgeon and prosthodontist for surgical operation and bridge construction.

  • Behavior of a package of a microwave oven under the clamping condition is evaluated by tests and the finite element analyses. PAM-CRASH software is used for the finite element analyses. Results of the analyses are compared with those of the tests and accuracy is shown to be favorable. Under the clamping condition of the original design, severe deformation occurs and an improved design of the outer case and upper EPS(Expandable Poly Styrene) is proposed to reduce it. Face beads of the outer case are introduced and shape of the upper EPS is modified to reduce the deformation resulting from the clamping load. The improved design model is analyzed and its deformation is shown to be satisfactory. A prototype is produced according to the improved design and tests are performed. Results of the clamping test of the prototype show that the plastic deformation is removed totally.

  • Backgrounds: Kennedy disease is a X-linked recessive disease characterized by bulbar symptoms, proximal muscle weakness, and gynecomastia. Methods: We analyzed clinical symptoms and performed electrodiagnostic studies on 6 patients. Results: We found following features: 1) proximal muscle weakness 2) bulbar symptoms, as dysarthria, facial and tongue atrophy 3) hyporeflexia or areflexia 4) fasciculations, predominantly on face, and proximal upper extremities 5) decreased sensory nerve action potentials(SNAPs) 6) chronic neurogenic changes in needle EMG. Conclusions: Kennedy disease is characterized by degenerative process of anterior horn cell and dorsal root ganglion without upper motor neuron dysfunction. Increased triple nucleotide CAG repeats(>38) in androgen receptor gene of Xp21 will confirm early stage of this disease.

  • Angiomyolipomas are usually found in the kidneys of patients with tuberous sclerosis. They occur less frequently in organs such as the liver, the oral cavity, the nasal cavity, the heart, the large intestines, and the lungs. Angiomyolipomas of the skin are extremely rare, and cutaneous angiomyolipomas generally occur on the elbow, the ends of digits, the ear, and the glabella. Herein we present a rare case of angiomyolipoma occurring on the face-specifically, the right upper eyelid. We propose that upper eyelid angiomyolipoma is a hamartomatous, rather than neoplastic, lesion. Although angiomyolipoma in the periocular area is rare, it should be considered in the differential diagnosis of clinically benign masses. and regular follow-up is warranted.

  • A circular plate kept zero initial temperature is heated for a certain interval of time over a concentric circular region of the upper face. Deflection is obtained by using Laplace transform technique. Taking the plate material to be aluminium, central deflection is obtained for several values of time and the results shown graphically.
