충진층 흡착관 내에서 입상활성탄에 의한 페놀 제거 : 매개변수 감응도 해석 (Removal of Phenol by Granular Activated Carbon from Aqueous Solution in Fixed-Bed Adsorption Column : Parameter Sensitivity Analysis)

  • The adsorption experiment of phenol(Ph) from aqueous solution on granular activated carbon was studied in order to design the fixed-bed adsorption column. The experimental data were analyzed by unsteady-state, one-dimensional heterogeneous model. Finite element method(FEM) was applied to analyze the sensitivity of parameter and to predict the fixed-bed adsorption column performance on operation variable changes. The prediction model showed similar effect to mass transfer and intraparticle diffusion coefficient changes suggesting that both parameter present mass transfer rate limits for GAC-phenol system. The Freundlich constants had a greater effect than kinetic parameters for the performance of fixed-bed adsorption column. FEM solution facilitated prediction of concentration history in solution and within adsorbent particle.

대규모와 모사에 의한 3차원 소형축류홴의 운전부하에 따른 난류유동장 구조에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Structure of Turbulent Flow Fields According to the Operating Loads of Three-Dimensional Small-Size Axial Fan by Large Eddy Simulation)

  • The unsteady-state, incompressible and three-dimensional large eddy simulation(LES) was carried out to analyze the structure of turbulent flow fields according to the operating loads of three-dimensional small-size axial fan(SSAF). LES shows the best prediction performance in comparison with any other Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS) method because static pressure coefficients analysed by LES show a little bit larger than measurements including all flow coefficients. Also, it can be known that the wake of SSAF is divided into from axial flow to radial flow before and behind stall region according to the increase of static pressure through LES analysis.

건물 외피 투과형단열 벽체의 열성능 해석 연구 (Thermal Performance of Building Envelope with Transparent Insulation Wall)

  • Global efforts have made to reduce energy consumption and $CO_2$ gas emission. One of the weakest parts for energy loss through the whole building components is building envelopes. Lots of technologies to increase the thermal performance of building envelopes have been introduced in recent year. Transparent Insulation Wall(TIW) is a new technology for building insulation and has been function both solar transmittance and thermal insulation. A mathematical model of a Transparent Insulation Wall equipped with south wall was proposed in order to predict thermal performance under varying climates(summer and winter). Unsteady state heat transfer equations were set up using an energy balance equation and solved using Gauss-Seidel iteration solution procedure. The thermal performance of the TIW determined from a wall surface and air layer temperature, non-airconditioned room temperature and air conditioning load. As a result, this numerical study shows that the TIW is effective in an air conditioning load reduction. Further experimental study is required to establish complete TIW system.

Sensitivity analysis of transonic flow past a NASA airfoil/wing with spoiler deployments

  • Transonic flow past a NASA SC(2)-0710 airfoil with deployments of a spoiler up to $6^{\circ}$ was studied numerically. We consider angles of attack from $-0.6^{\circ}$ to $0.6^{\circ}$ and free-stream Mach numbers from 0.81 to 0.86. Solutions of the unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations were obtained with a finite-volume solver using several turbulence models. Both stationary and time-dependent deployments of the spoiler were examined. The study revealed the existence of narrow bands of the Mach number, angle of attack, and spoiler deflection angle, in which the flow was extremely sensitive to small perturbations. Simulations of 3D flow past a swept wing confirmed the flow sensitivity to small perturbations of boundary conditions.

  • This paper describes a supersonic separation of air-launching rocket from the mother plane. Three dimensional Euler equations were numerically solved to analyze steady/unsteady state fluid flows. To solve the Euler equations, named CFD-FASTRAN that is commercial computation code. The results of simulation clearly demonstrate effect of shock-expansion wave interaction between the rocket and the mother plane. Moreover, important influential factors at separating stage of the rocket were extracted with a comprehensive analysis. Finally, from the consideration of supersonic-separation, a guideline to safety-separation is given to the design of supersonic air-launching rocket.

  • 본 연구는 Moss형 LNG선박의 방열구조에서 LNG탱크에 침입하는 열량과 선체의 온도분포를 예측하고, 운항 중 LNG탱크를 Cooling down(예냉)하는 경우 발생하는 비정상상태에서 LNG탱크에 발생하는 국부적인 열응력을 검토할 수 있는 비정상 온도분포해석과 LNG증발량을 검토하였다. 특히 운항 중인 선박을 대상으로 일반적인 수치계산시에 필요한 각종 입력절차를 간소화 하고 경계조건 선정시에 비 전문가도 쉽게 이용할 수 있는 전산프로그램을 개발하였다. Moss형 LNG탱크의 예냉작업에 필요한 최적의 냉매량과 예냉조건을 비정상상태에서 해석한 것은 설계자 및 선박 운항자에게 유용하게 이용될 것이다.

Dry room내 수분환기에 대한 수치적 연구 (Numerical Analysis of Moisture Ventilation in the Dry Room)

  • In this paper, the characteristics of moisture ventilation in the lithium ion battery manufacturing dry room are studied numerically using standard $k-\varepsilon$ turbulence model. Both the steady-state and the unsteady behaviors of moisture ventilation are analyzed by considering local and uniform moisture generation. In order to evaluate the characteristics of moisture ventilation, three scales of ventilation efficiency and characteristic ventilation time are presented from the numerical results. It was shown that moisture distribution was dependent strongly on the flow field. The characteristics of moisture ventilation were improved by 20% and 40% in terms of the 1st scale of ventilation efficiency (SVE1) and the 2nd scale of ventilation efficiency (SVE2), respectively, through the modifications of design variables such as the addition of inlets, outlets and partition. A significant improvement in the characteristic ventilation time and the moisture exhaust efficiency was also made by these modifications.

디스크 브레이크 피스톤 재질을 고려한 브레이크 시스템 온도 분포에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Temperature Distribution of Disc Brake System Considering the Material Property of the Disc Brake Piston)

  • Braking performance of a vehicle can be significantly affected by the temperature increment in the brake system. Therefore, the important problem in brake system is to reduce the thermal effect by friction heat. Recently, many studies have been performed and good results have been reported on the prediction of the brake disk temperature. However, the study on the pad, piston and brake fluid temperature is rarely found despite of its importance. In this study, the temperature distribution of the disc brake system is studied according to the material properties of brake piston. Vehicle deceleration, weight distribution by deceleration, disc-pad heat division and the cooling of brake components are considered in the analysis of heat transfer. Unsteady state temperature distributions are analyzed by using the finite element method and the numerical results are compared with the experimental data.

텐덤 디퓨저의 상대 위치에 따른 원심압축기 성능 예측 (Numerical Analysis on the Performance Prediction of a Centrifugal Compressor with Relative Positions of Tandem Diffuser Rows)

  • The performance of a centrifugal compressor composed of an impeller, tandem diffuser rows and axial guide vanes has been predicted numerically and compared with available experimental results on its design rotational speed. The pitchwise-averaged mixing plane method was employed for the boundaries between rotor and stator to obtain steady state solutions. The overall characteristics showed differently according to the relative positions of tandem diffuser rows while the characteristics of impeller showed almost identical. The numerical results agree with the measured data in respect of their tendency. It turned out that 0% of relative positions is the worst case in terms of static pressure recovery and efficiency. According to the experimental results, some pressure fluctuations and malfunction of the compressor were observed for 75% case. However, this numerical calculation using mixing plane method did not capture any of those phenomena. Thus, unsteady flow calculation should be performed to investigate the stability of the compressor caused by different diffuser configuration.

  • In this study an the development of the heat flux sensor with thermocouple, the heat-treated adhesive type film nickel gauge(Ni-Gauge) for measuring temperature was used. and this Ni-Gauge is not only comparable for platinum gauge(Pt-Gauge) in linearity, but also economically cheap. And from this viewpoint. numerical analysis is essential to investigate charateristics of sensor, since this analysis is capable of simulating precise boudary condition and practical conditions and so on. By the way. there are many types of heat flux sensor. of which adhesive type flux sensor is common, in the study this type of heat flux sensor was chogen. and analysis of the sensor is considered as a kind of open cavity figure. performed by SIMPLER algorithm. As a result. through temperature distributial of the sensor by numerical analysis in steady and unsteady state, the dracteristics of the acdhesive type heat flux sensor(lst heat flux sensor) acooodinge to heat flux, that is, outvoltage, sensitivity. and responsibilty could be evaluated. in addition, time of improved heat flux sensor(2nd heat flux sensor) could be predicted fran the reflectian of proper operating temperature(l50 $^{\circ}C$)of theNi-Gauge.
