The frequency of earthquake occurrence tends to increase in Korea. Therefore, the stability of pipeline, such as watersupply pipe, gas pipe, and oil pipe etc. across fault zones in Gyoung-sang landmass is very important, expecially , in metropolitan area. There were some examples of the construction of buried pipeline across fault zones in Korea. the interactiion between the buried pipeline across fault zones and the ground is considered. As well, in the interfaces of them, the direct shear numerical analysis model including elasto-plastic joint element is assumed that the retained dilatancy theory in them, otherwise. Also, the other elements are modeled the ground is nonlinear elastic coutinuaus beam, respectively. In this study, the maximum shear force point exist inside retaine zone(anchored zone) during shwar (as fault sliding), and the distribution of pipeline's behavior is all alike them of pipeline buried in ladnsliding grounds. Since the pipeline is not continuous beam but jointed by steel-pipe segments , practically, on acting of a large bending moment or a shear force, then, those are may be unstable. The reaearch on this point may be new approach.

The object of this study is to analyze and evaluate outdoor wind pressure effect in a high-rise residential building when seasonal wind blow on coast area. The target building consists of 3 tower buildings over 250m in height. For the evaluation of the outdoor wind effect, CFD simulation was performed. The results of the simulations are as follows : 1) In that case of high-rise building, horizontal stream is more affected than vertical stream. 2) In case of summer season northeasterly wind, building pressure distributions are unstable and surface pressures of outside are effected respectively. 3) In case of winter season westerly wind, building preassure differentiations are not so much because of screening effects of the B, and the C buildings. 4) In case of winter season northwesterly wind, front wind affects on the A building directly because of no obstacles.
One of the biggest clinical problems of osseointegrated implant prosthesis is the excessive stress caused by bite forces which are transfered directly into the bone through the osseointegrated implant fixtures. So several biodynamic problems occur when there is an excessive fatigue stress. The factors of stress distribution are the number, kind, position, arrangement of the implants, and the distance between the implants, and the kind, quality of superstructure prosthesis and connection type between the rest implant and the superstructure. Recently, a distal short additional implant, socalled rest implant, is employed to reduced the stresses in conventional cantilevered prostheses. This study was undertaken to analyze the stresses transfered by osseointegrated implant cantilevered prostheses depending upon the number and the position of implants, the presence of rest implant, and the type of their connection. Three dimensional finite element analysis was attempted using ANSIS ver. 5.3 program under IBM INDIGO computer. The results were as follows : 1. The rest implant influenced on the pattern of stress distribution on the anterior area of the mandible and the superstructure. 2. In the group employing the rest implants, the fixed type of connection between the rest implant and the superstructure was more stable than the ball attachment type on the stress distribution. 3. In the group employing the ball attachment between the rest implant and the superstructure, the case with 4-implants(on canine, premolar) was little more stable than the case with 6-implants and the case with 4-implants(on incisor, premolar) on the stress distribution. 4. In the cantilevered group, the case with 4-implants(on incisor, premolar) and the case with 6-implants were more stable than the case with 4-implants(on canine, premolar) on the stress distribution. 5. In all of the group, the case with 6-implants and the fixed type of connection was the most stable and the case with 4-implants (on canine, premolar) was the most unstable on the stress distribution.
Objective: It is to find factors related to stability through analysis of plantar pressure factors according to the level of instability when performing Snatch. Method: Foot pressure analysis was performed while 10 weightlifters performed 80% of the highest level of Snatch, and motion was classified and analyzed in 3 grades according to the level of instability. Results: First, in Bad Motion, the movement distance of the pressure center in the direction of ML and AP was larger significantly in Phase 2. Second, in Phase 2, the number of zero-crossing in the AP direction was larger statistically significantly in Good Motion. Third, in the bad motion in Phase 3, the number of zero-crossing in the ML direction showed a significantly larger value. Fourth, in Phase 4, it was found that the more stable the lock out motion, the greater the activity of foot controlling in the left and right directions. Fifth, Phase 3, the greater the Maximum/Mean foot pressure value, the more stable the pulling action. Sixth, in Phase 2, the foot pressure was concentrated with a wide distribution in the midfoot and rearfoot. Seventh, the triggering number of the forefoot region was small in the last pull phase. Eighth, the number of triggers in the toe area was significantly higher during Good Motion in Phase 4. Conclusion: Summarizing the factors of instability in Snatch, there was no significant difference in Phase 1 for each condition. In order to enhance the stability in Phase 2, the sensory control ability in the AP direction is required, and focusing the foot pressing motion with a wide distribution in the middle and rear parts increases the instability. In Phase 3, it was found that the more unstable, the more sensory control activity was performed in the ML direction, the stronger the forefoot pressing action should be performed for a stable Snatch. In Phase 4, It is important that the feet sensory control activity in ML directions and the control ability of the toes in order to have stable Lock out motion.
It's essential to build an earth retaining structure at the beginning and end point of a tunnel constructed in a colluvium area. A large scale of colluvial soil may cause a problem to the stability of the excavation ground. An excavation in colluvium has different behavior characteristics from those in a sandy soil due to unstable elements and needs counter measures for it. There are few systematic research efforts on the behavior characteristics of an earth retaining structure installed in colluvial soil. Thus this study set out to collect measuring data from an excavation site at the tunnel pit mouth in colluvium and set quantitative criteria for the safety of an earth retaining structure. After comparing and analyzing the theoretical and empirical earth pressure from the measuring data, the lateral earth pressure distribution acted on the earth retaining wall was suggested.

Factors affecting spatial distribution of halophytes were analyzed in June 2012 at the Goraebul coastal dunes. In the Goraebul sand dune, distribution of halophytes was divided into three groups. The first group belonging to Elymus mollis, Carex kobomugi, Calystegia soldanella, Ixeris repens and Glehnia littoralis was distributed in the ridge of primary sand dune and dune slack. The second group belonging to Lathyrus japonicus and Zoysia macrostachya was distributed in the dune slack. The third group belonging to Pinus thunbergii, Vitex rotundifolia and Linaria japonicus was distributed in the pine forest of the secondary sand dune. E. mollis, C. kobomugi, C. soldanella, I. repens and G. littoralis was distributed in relatively unstable habitat of sand dunes due to the large amount of sand movement. V. rotundifolia was distributed in a relatively stable habitat. Factors that have the greatest influence on distribution of halophytes in the Goraebul sand dunes are distance from the seashore, topography, and the pine forest. The Goraebul sand dune is a relatively well-preserved area with minimal human intervention. Therefore, different distribution of physico-chemical factors by natural processes is essential to spatial distribution of halophytes than other sand dunes in Korea. Significant natural processes in the Goraebul sand dunes were advance and retreat of coastlines from waves, erosion and sedimentation of sand due to wind and waves, and dispersal of seawater.

According to the damage investigation in 2002, the failures of river levee were caused by overflow, erosion, and unstable body conditions due to piping, inappropriate embanking materials, and poor compaction. Especially, overflow was identified as a main reason that induces levee failure by 39.5% from the distribution of failure types. The major parameters, such as levee collapsing angle (${\theta}$), levee collapsing rate (k) affect inundation velocity and area size during the analysis of inundation modeling, however, domestic research effort on this area is still insufficient. In this paper authors conducted levee failure experiments of 4 levee height types, 0.20 m, 0.25 m, 0.30 m, and 0.40 m based on theassumption of Froude Similarity (${\lambda}_{Fr}=1$). As a result, the authors suggested a levee failure mechanism according to the levee heights (H), a collapse extension lengthwhich is around, levee collapse angle (${\theta}$), levee collapse rate (k).
Meiobenthic community structure of tidal flats near the Yeonggwang Nuclear Power Plant have studied during summer (June) and fall (October) 1997. Examination of sediment samples collected along the transects showed that there were 18 different types of meiobenthos in the study area. The most abundant meiobenthic animals belonged to Phylum Nematoda in both seasons and all transects. However, sediment samples collected near discharge areas, transects A and B, showed relatively lower abundance than other general coastal areas. Another abundant meiobenthic organism is benthic Harpacticoids which is very sensitive to any environmental changes. Polycheats and Ostracods were next abundant meiobenthos which also showed the difference between the study area and other general coastal areas. Only transect C maintained similar meiobenthic abundance and diversity to other coastal areas. Horizontal distribution for transects A and B showed higher densities in upper and mid tidal flat zones. On the other hand, transect C which is located furtherest from the discharges showed an increasing trend in abundance from upper to lower areas. For size distribution analyses showed that animals which fit into the meshsize of 0.125 mm were abundant, Vertical distribution of meiobenthic animals within the sediments for both sampling seasons showed the highest individual numbers in the surface sediment layers of 0-1 cm depth and showed a decreasing trend as sediment gets deeper. Each class of meiobenthos had different vertical profiles. When comparing survey transects A and B with other similar tidal flat areas, this sites seems to a very unstable environment of tidal flats near the Yeonggwang Nuclear Power Plant.
The East China Sea and the Yellow Sea are abundant in nutritions because of river inflows and are important as the nursery and spawning grounds of demersal and pelagic fishes. The remarkable thermal front between the Yellow Sea Bottom Cold Water and the Tsushima Warm Current is formed in this region, and the fluctuation of this front may affect the variation of the yellow croaker fishing ground. To investigate the mechanism of the yellow croaker fishing ground, the distribution ana seasonal change of the fishing ground are examined by using catch of stow net fishery (Fisheries Research and Development Agency, 1970-1979) and the water temperature data (Japan Hydrographic Association, 1978). The main fishing ground of yellow croaker was nine sea areas (rectangle of 30' latitude by 30' longitude) located at 40-150 nautical miles west and southwest of Jeju Island, the area of which occupies no more than $11\%$ of all fishing grounds, and it appeared that about $70\%$ of total catch of ten years was concentrated in this area. The main fishing periods were from March to May and September to October. The coefficients of variation of the catch for the main fishing ground were from 0.8 to 2.1 and the condition of all fishing grounds was generally unstable. The mean CPUE was 27kg/haul at the main fishing ground, while it was the largest on boundary area of the Yellow Sea Bottom Cold Water. It was found that the seasonal movement of fishing ground is related to the expansion and reduction of the Yellow Sea Bottom Cold Water ($10^{\circ}C$).
In this study, two radiometric correction methods deriving reflectance from UAV multispectral image for monitoring forest vegetation were applied and evaluated. Multispectral images were obtained from a small multispectral camera having 5 spectral bands. Reflectance were derived by applying the two methods: (1) the direct method using downwelling irradiance measurement and (2) the empirical line correction method by linking a set of field reflectance measured simultaneous with the image capture. Field reflectance were obtained using a spectroradiometer during the flight and used for building the linear equation for the empirical method and for the validation of image reflectance derived. Although both methods provided the high correlations between field reflectance and image-derived reflectance, their distributions were somewhat different. While the direct method provided rather stable and consistent distribution of reflectance all over the entire image area, the empirical method showed very unstable and inconsistent reflectance distribution. The direct method would be more appropriate for relatively wide area that requires more time to acquire image and may vary in downwelling irradiance and atmospheric conditions.
