한국 연안의 8개 지점에서 채집된 굴상과의 표본을 동정 분류한 결과, Pycnodonteidae과의 2종, Parahyotissa chemnitzi (Hanley. 1786), P. inaequivalvis (Sowerby, 1871)와, Ostreidae 과의 3종, Dendostrea folium (Linnaeus, 1758), Ostrea futamiensis (Seki, 1929), Saccostrea mordax (Gould, 1850)는 한국 미기록종으로 확인되었다.

In order to elucidate the fungal diversity and community structure in freshwater environments, numerous fungal strains were isolated from freshwater, submerged soils, twigs, dead insects, etc. Among them, the present study has focused specifically on Aspergillus, Penicillium, and Talaromyces species, which produce diverse useful metabolites in general. Twelve strains of Aspergillus isolated were identified as A. japonicus (n = 5), A. tubingensis (3), A. niger (2), and A. flavus (2), 10 strains of which belong to Aspergillus section Nigri, named black Aspergillus. Eight strains of Penicillium were identified as P. brasilianim (n = 3), P. oxalicum (2), P. crustosum (1), P. expansum (1), and P. piscarium (1). Two different strains of Talaromyces were identified as T. pinophilus and T. versatilis. Thus far, Penicillium piscarium and Talaromyces versatilis have been unrecorded in Korea, for which we provide detailed morphological and molecular characteristics.

Four feather mites, Alloptes(Apodalloptes) orthogramme Gaud and Mouchet, 1957, Alloptes(Conuralloptes) limosae Dubinin, 1951, Alloptes (C.) procerus Gaud, 1972 and Alloptes (Sternalloptes) fauri Gaud, 1957 are reported for the first time in South Korea. These specimens were collected from four charadriiform bird species: Actitis hypoleucos, Larus crassirostris, Limosa limosa, and Numenius phaeopus. The family Alloptidae Gaud, 1957 and a genus Alloptes Canestrini, 1879 are newly added to the invertebrate fauna of South Korea as well. Here, we provide the morphological description and illustrations based on the present specimens. Additionally, partial sequences of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I(COI) were newly-generated for using as DNA barcodes.

We report the first discovery of Penicillium mexicanum in Korea. Fungal strains were isolated from air samples collected in Taean-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, Korea. The strain was identified based on its morphological characteristics, as well as molecular phylogenetic analysis of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS), β-tubulin (BenA), and calmodulin (CaM) regions. This strain exhibited a high sequence similarity to the reference sequences of P. mexicanum. These findings enhance our understanding of fungal biodiversity in Korea and underscore the importance of continuous monitoring of fungal species.

Through a taxonomic study on solitary corals collected from subtidal zones of South and East Seas from 2019 to 2022, Paracyathus rotundatus, an unrecorded species belonging to family Caryophylliidae, is newly added to the anthozoan fauna of Korea. In addition, comparing partial 16S rRNA sequences with a length of 269 bp according to color variation clarified that there were no sequence differences among specimens with color variation, indicating that the color variation is due to intraspecific variation. As a result of this study, a total of 7 genera and 8 species belonging to the Caryophylliidae family have been reported in Korean waters so far.

본 연구에서는 한국산 미기록속인 밑들이자루맵시벌속(신칭)과 미기록종인 밑들이짧은자루맵시벌(신칭)을 처음으로 보고한다. 밑들이자루맵시벌속은 잎벌류에 기생하는 것으로 알려져 있으며, 배마디 끝부분이 위쪽으로 굽어져있는 것이 특징이다. 본 논문에는 미기록속, 미기록종의 기재문과 사진을 제공한다.

During the course of investigation of indigenous prokaryotic species in Korea, a total of 30 bacterial strains belonging to the phylum Firmicutes were isolated from diverse environmental sites such as soil, avian feces, wastewater treatment plants, fermented vegetables, seawater, algae, sea cucumber, octopus and tidal flat sediment. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that each strain showed high sequence similarity (${\geq}98.7%$) to the closest type strain and formed a robust phylogenetic clade with the most closely related species in the phylum Firmicutes. To date, there is no official record of these 30 species in Korea. Therefore, we report 26 species of 12 genera in the order Bacillales and 4 species of 4 genera in the order Lactobacillales which have not been reported in Korea. Morphological and biochemical characteristics, isolation sources and NIBR deposit numbers are described in the species descriptions.

충남 서천군 한산면 신성리 금강하구 갈대밭 토양의 야생효모 분포특성을 알아보기 위하여 갈대밭 토양 20점을 채취하여 야생효모들을 분리하여 총 11종 20균주의 야생효모를 동정하였다. Candida속의 효모가 10균주로 가장 많이 분리되었고, 그 중 Candida subhashii 균이 6균주로 가장 많았다. 분리된 균주 중에서 Candida tropicalis (Y5-1,Y5-2, Y6-1), Candida subhashii (J7-1, J7-3, J8-1, Y9-1, Y9-2, Y9-3), Lachancea thermotolerans (MJS 007, MJS 019) 균주 등 12균주들이 알코올 발효능을 보였다. Bullera japonica YJ10-1, C. subhashii J7-1, Kluyveromyces yarrowii YJ11-1, Ustilago shanxiensis Y10-1등 4균주들이 국내 미기록 효모 균주들로 최종 선별되었다. 이들 국내 미기록 균주들은 구형으로 Candida subhashii J7-1만이 자낭포자와 의균사를 형성하였다. Kluyveromyces yarrowii YJ11-1은 비타민을 함유하지 않은 배지에서도 생육하였고 Candida subhashii J7-1는 YM과 YPD 배지 및 5% NaCl을 함유한 YPD 배지에서 생장하지 않았다.
