In high-speed optical disk drive, the excitation caused by rotation of a mass-unbalanced disk is a major source of vibration. The vibration can be a disturbance to the servo system, which is sufficient to cause severe failures in the reading and writing process. The vibration also causes users to feel unpleasantness. The vibration reduction is therefore essential for the reliable operation of optical disk drive. One of the approaches to reduce the vibration is a dynamic vibration absorber (DVA). In this paper, we analyze the dynamic behavior of $DVD\pmRW$ combo drive system with DVA through 12_dof rigid multi-body dynamic model. The effective location and the optimal frequency ratio are obtained from the analysis.

This study is an attempt to analyze concept of pain and to do it according to a series of concept development processes described by Walker and Avant. Based on the results of the study, the attributes, scope, precedences and consequences of pain were identified : 1. The attributes of pain were subjectivity, unpleasantness, expression, experience, response, and sensitivity. 2. The scope of pain were physical, psychological, and socio-cultural. 3. The following were precedences of pain : 1) Internal or external noxious stimuli 2) actual or potential injury or damage to body and/or mind 3) noxious stimulation or aversive sensation is perceived as pain 4. The following were consequences of pain : 1) physical, psychological, socio-cultural response 2) verbal and/or non-verbal communication 3) coping and self-preservation.

The purposes of this study was to identify the typology of clothing purchase situation considered by female students and to find out the relationship between clothing purchase situation and clothing evaluative criteria. Data were obtained from 223 female undergraduate students living in Busan, and analyzed by factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha, Pearson's correlation, cannonical correlation and regres-sion analysis. The results were as follows; 1. There were three types of clothing purchase situation considered by female students; antecedent states were momentary moods and conditions such as depression, unpleasantness, and sufficient time, point-of·purchase situations were physical surrounding and social surround-ing such as store atmosphere and salesperson, and communication situations were consisted of catalog, advertising and usability of credit cards or installment tickets. 2. There were high the relationships between clothing purchase situations and clothing evaluative criteria. It was the communication situation that reflected the most of the clothing evaluative criteria, and extrinsic criteria that explained the most the clothing purchase situ-tions.

The purposes of this research were to evaluate the relationships of between characteristics of noise and annoyance of dental hygienist by noise in dental clinic. To investigate the dental clinic workers' reactions to noise when occurred in dental clinic, the noise level test in dental clinic and questionnaire were taken. As a result of noise evaluation, It shows that the range of noise level was 67.7~78.3dB(A) and frequency was very high (more than 4KHz). It's seem to be begins occurrence of stamina-loss, contraction of peripheral blood vessel, decrease of adrenocortical hormones. Most of respondents were affected by noise: 67% of respondents were nervous about noise and the rest of respondents were bearable. Analysis by NR-curve showed that it was exceed the noise permit level in working space. As a result of correlation - test, the more exposed dental hygienist to noise, the more felt the unpleasantness and fatigue. It's hard to sufficient explanation to patients about the dental treatment. So it's thoughts that insufficient explanation will negative impact on the patients' satisfaction and increase competitiveness in dental clinics. To remedy a unpleasantness and fatigue of noise in dental hygienist, it's considered that making an offer the ear protection and choosing the low noise-vib. equipment and using the masking effect. Therefore, It can be provide a pleasant working environment with dental hygienist and It will have a great advantage to dental clinics to improve their competitiveness.

Objectives : This study was performed to evaluate the effects of thoracic vertebral region's Du mai(督脈) and Jia ji xue(夾脊穴) intervention on active range of motion(ROM) restricted shoulder pain. Methods : 1. Measurement : The unpleasantness of pain was measured by visual analogue scale(VAS), and ROM was measured by using Goniometer and scratch test. 2. Intervention : Use Acupuncture and bee venom injection in thoracic vertebral region's Du mai(督脈) and Jia ji xue(夾脊穴) that display main tender points. Results : The pain and ROM were improved after thoracic vertebral region intervention. Conclusion : Thoracic vertebral region intervention was effective to active ROM restricted shoulder pain, to reduce the pain and to improve ROM. And this study shows that active ROM restricted shoulder pain and thoracic vertebral region's tender points are connected to each other. Also, region that suggest main tender points previews region of thoracic vertebrae 5-8.

Purpose: This was to describe the emotions that patients face when diagnosed with cancer to know the problems and coping styles that cancer patients experience during the treatment. Method: The qualitative method was used for this study. The participants were 90 cancer patients at five general hospital in Pusan, Korea. Data were collected by interviews with a semi-structured questionnaire from November 2000 to June 2001, and were analyzed using the modified constant comparative method. Result: The most common emotions on the diagnosis of cancer were shock(36.7%), followed by despair(25.6%), acceptance(24.4%), denial(l8.9%), complaint(16.7%), and fear(8.9%). The problems identified were the unpleasantness and physical discomfort related with the treatment(50.0%), the feelings of burden(41.1%), finance/occupation(38.8%), and fear of the future(26.6%). Coping styles to problems that the subjects have faced on the course of the treatment were compliance(36.6%), health care(31.l %), positive thinking(22.2%), despair/avoidance( 15.5%), seeking social support( 6.6%), information seeking(3.3%) and self-control(2.2%). Conclusion: It is very important to develop nursing interventions which can mitigate shock that patients experience, can help cancer patients to have hope for the future and to positively cope with cancer.

Objectives : This study was performed to evaluate the effects of thoracolumbar junction's Hyeopcheok points(夾脊穴) for low-back pain in the thoracolumbar junction syndrome. Method : 1. Measurement : We investigated 26 patients with low-back pain. The unpleasantness of pain was measured by visual analogue scale(VAS), and the Oswestry low-back pain disability index(ODI). We compared the VAS and ODI scores of the two groups statistically. 2. Intervention : Use Acupuncture and bee venom injection in thoracolumbar junction's Hyeopcheok points that display main tender points. Also, herb medication and physical therapy was used. Results and Conclusion : As a result of treatment, thoracolumbar junction's Hyeopcheok points is very effective for low-back pain. However, more cases are required to oriental medicine in order to prove the availability.

This study examines the inconveniences and problems of established safety-equipment by investigating the actual conditions for elderly people who use welfare services such as wheel chairs provided by care institutions. Suggestions will be made on how to improve the function and convenience of use to suit the needs of the elderly and how to create beautiful wheel chair safety-wear. Medical treatment helpers for the elderly were surveyed about the wearing conditions of wheel chair safety equipment. The present wheel chair safety equipment was shown to be aesthetically unpleasant; in addition, feelings of restriction and unpleasantness were noted (concerning the wearing of the equipment). In addition, there was no feeling of fixed stability. The wheel chair safety-wear that has been designed reflects the inconveniences and problems of current wheel chair safety equipment in material, design, and patterns along with the results of those surveys. Both objective and subjective tests compared the manufactured safety-wear with current equipment. According to the results, the new safety-wear is superior than existing ones.

It is known that the various noise sources which are engine, transmission, tire, intake system, etc exist at vehicle driving status. Specially noises which cannot be expected by a driver induce unpleasantness to all passengers. These noises are difficult to distinguish noise sources or specifications because of too many vehicle parts. Therefore in this paper, study on abnormal noise of bush on suspension system is performed by the measurement and analysis of the noises of bushings that are generated artificially. The measured noises are analyzed by two points-view of spectrum and sound quality. Finally, it is shown that the noise sources of bushings on the suspension system which are the pillow ball joint bush of a control arm and the rubber bush of a lower arm could be distinguished by the spectrum distribution and a index value based on tonality.
