  • In recent days, the Non-Linear Editing is mainly used in the field of broadcasting. In comparison to conventional editing, Non-Linear Editing can immediately access the image of the desired position and facilitate the insertion and deletion of video frame. Furthermore, it directly apply a title and transition effect to video frame. Moreover, it has an advantage of preview and easy modification in title effect, transition and editing prior to export. However, students who learn Non-Linear Editing first time are not easy to learn it. In this paper, we propose a new learning model based on Reciprocal Peer Teaching (RPT), which helps NLE beginners to understand Non-Linear editing more clearly. We divide the students into two groups i.e. control group and experimental group. The control group students do not apply proposed method while experimental group performs evaluation over our model. Furthermore, we carry out the experiments, which include the overall average of the two groups, academic achievement of students with low grades, standard deviation, T-test and satisfaction surveys. The experimental group shows the superiority in performed experiments and higher satisfaction ratings than the control group.

  • In this study, 150 previous studies of young children's challenging behavior, conducted over the past 10 years, from 2003 to 2012, were selected. These studies were in relation to young children both with and without disabilities, and they were thus used for the purposes of comparative analysis. The major findings are as follows. First, research on challenging behavior not only of young children with disabilities but also of those without disabilities has been an increasing trend from 2008. While most studies of those without disabilities were based on observations by parents or teachers using a variety of tools, studies regarding those with disabilities mainly used single-subject research methods using an operational definition. Second, the bulk of the studies of young children without disabilities were focused on interaction between various children's internal variables and a variety of parent-related variables related to the occurrence of challenging behavior. In comparison, studies of young children with disabilities were focused excessively on direct intervention after the occurrence of problems. Regarding those without disabilities, the interaction between children's temperament, internal variables, and their mothers' parenting behavior, external variables were the main areas of interest for these researchers. There is clearly a growing need for more active research aimed at the prevention of challenging behavior. Challenging behavior in early childhood has an influence not only on each child's present and future academic achievement levels and their quality of life but also on the quality of instruction in classroom available to all children.

  • Operating Systems is a discipline which handles complex and abstract concepts related to its components and the principles of how an operating system works. However, most of the OS courses have been textbook-oriented theoretical classes. For students who are familiar with various kinds of media, theoretical classes lead to a decline in the understanding of a lecture and difficulty concentrating. They have tried to make use of educational tools to help students understand a lecture and arouse their interests consistently. This paper describes the design and implementation of a disk scheduling simulator which shows the service processes of disk I/O requests visually. The disk scheduling simulator can be used for demonstrations of the disk scheduling algorithms. The results of the academic achievement evaluation and survey showed that a disk scheduling simulator is useful as an educational tool which causes the interests about operating systems and enhances the understanding of a lecture.

  • Recently rapid changes in the industrial environment require new talents in companies. Flipped learning is drawing attention as an effective teaching-learning method. The existing traditional lecture teaching-learning method have various problems that the dropout rates of the student is high and the creative problem solving ability is hindered. In the case of the IT engineering college, most of the major theoretical courses require prior learning of the prerequisite coursework subjects. Therefore, effective teaching-learning methods must be developed to improve student participation and academic achievement. This paper proposes the flipped learning model consisting of five sets that combine the flipped learning and practice to improve student motivation and self - directed learning. Also, this paper analyzes the learning effect by applying it to the algorithm lecture of computer engineering and presents problem and utilization plan according to the result.

  • When patients have acute cardiac arrest before they are hospitalized, the ratio of CPR done by the general public is directly related to patient survival ratio. However, compared with that of advanced nations, our nation has low patient survival ratio due to its low ratio of CPR done by the general public. To improve this situation, the current study conducted a pre-survey targeting 3,800 general public to find how to apply an emergent medical system using smart phone location-based service. According to its outcome, first, they have a high level of CPR experience while their recognition of CPR generality is low. Second, their self-confidence in doing CPR significantly differ according to their age, academic achievement and occupation yet with generally low self-confidence. Third, their participation in the emergent medical system using location-based service APPs is high, and has co-relation to their will for CPR, self-confidence in CPR and experience in CPR training.

  • This study compared actual weight with perceived weight, described the prevalence of unhealthy weight control behavior, determined the differences in psychological and personal variables between participants that reported unhealthy weight control behavior and those who did not, and examined the relationship of eating habits to unhealthy weight control behavior for Korean adolescents. The study population consisted of a nationally representative sample of middle and high school students who completed the Fifth Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey (KYRBWS): Fifth in 2009. Among the 75,066 participants of KYRBWS, 35,473 (n = 18,851 girls and 16,622 boys) were eligible for a research focused on unhealthy weight control behavior. The results of this research were as follows: First, there were considerable discrepancies (45.1% of girls and 32.8% of boys) between the perceived weight and the actual weight. Second, overall, unhealthy weight control behavior was more prevalent in girls and fasting was the most commonly reported behavior. Third, participants that reported unhealthy weight control behavior scored significantly lower on scaled measures of happiness, health, academic achievement, and economic status; in addition, they scored higher on stress measures. Fourth, girls and boys shared common protective factors of having breakfast and vegetables more often, perceiving their weight as underweight rather than overweight, and having a correct weight conception. Protective factors unique to girls were having lunch and dinner more often. Girls and boys shared common risk factors of the consumption of soda, fast food, instant noodles, and snacks more often, while consumption of fruit more often was a risk factor only for girls. The improvement of protective factors and minimization of risk factors through Home Economics classes (and other classes relevant to health) may mitigate unhealthy weight control behavior of adolescents.
