  • Department of radiology implements the hospital-based clinical training to accept medical treatment techniques and to adapt experiences for students. However, it might cause negative effects to training education, leading to doubt about major and pressure about training as lots of students experience clinical treatment and complex stress in unfamiliar environment. Regarding this, pressure element that students can experience and diverse variables of training were compared and analyzed. With students in department of radiology for 6 colleges and universities, from September 15th to October 25th in 2011. The degree of stress for students in training was shown high in the fields of cost(3.06) and trainers(3.02). Value and ideal(2.94), role and experiment(2.93), training environment(2.74) and relationships among trainees(2.64) were followed in the order. Except expense regarding stress from clinical training, but in all factors, women showed higher pressure level than men(P<.05) and in stress range according to BEPSI-K, a meaningful difference was shown in fields of training environment, relationships among trainees and role and experiment(P<.01, P<.001, P<.05). • The objective of this study was to identify factors affecting the positive and negative responses of undergraduate students to inferiority by using a group counseling program to manage the inferiority of undergraduate students majoring in health science. This study sampled 30 undergraduate students attending the health science department of S University and divided them into a treatment group and a control group. The treatment group received an inferiority management group counseling program twice a week 120 minutes each from November 20, 2018, to January 2, 2019 eight sessions in total. The inferiority response criterion was applied before-treatment, after-treatment, and follow-up to verify the effectiveness of the program. The analysis results showed that the inferiority management group counseling program significantly decreased the negative response of undergraduate students to inferiority and significantly increased the positive response to inferiority. These results suggest that the inferiority management counseling program can lower the negative attitude and enhance the positive attitude toward the inferiority, which is caused by comparing themselves with their peers.

  • In the pandemic situation due to corona 19, we examined the satisfactory level of students' between non-face-to-face and online classes in the first year of radiology. In the case of online non-face classes related to radiation majors, it is considered better to conduct real-time lectures than recorded lectures, which allows students to understand difficult radiation majors throughout real-time questions and answers, and at the same time allows them to sympathize with difficult subjects such as intimacy and bonds between students. As a result of the analysis of the answers to questionnaires, the coefficient of answer correlation between first and second grade students is P>0.05, and there is no answer correlation between grades, and it can be seen that the higher the grade, the higher the demand for face-to-face classes was.

  • Due to the development of advanced technology, a lot of digital radiographic equipment has been developed, which is very helpful for accurate diagnosis and treatment, and it is very important to train personnel who have acquired professional knowledge in order to use it safely and effectively. Students are exposed to the risk of radiation exposure in radiography training using diagnostic X-ray equipment, and some educational institutions do not use X-ray equipment due to management difficulties in accordance with the Nuclear Safety Act. As a solution to this, this study developed a medical radiation simulator for education that does not generate radiation by using a vision sensor and self-developed software. Through this, educational institutions can reduce the burden of administrative implementation according to the law, and students can obtain a high level of educational effects in a healthy practice environment without radiation exposure.

  • This study was conducted to determine the appropriateness of systemic radiation exposure control for students in clinical practice by comparing radiation exposure in radiography employees at different stations of a hospital with that of students conducting clinical practice using identical stations. Overall, 121 students who conducted clinical practice in the department of radiology area of C university hospital from July 2014 to August 2014 and 62 workers working in the same medical facility (47 in the department of radiology, 8 in the department of radiation oncology, 7 in the department of nuclear medicine) were investigated. The radiation exposure experienced by students was measured for 8 weeks, which is the duration of the clinical practice. Additionally, radiation exposure of workers were classified into 4 groups, department of radiology, department of radiation oncology, and department of nuclear medicine was compared. Dose was measured with OSLD and differences among groups were identified by ANOVA followed by Duncan's multiple range test. Among employees, those in the department of radiology, oncology and nuclear medicine were exposed depth doses of $0.127{\pm}0.331mSv$, $0.01{\pm}0.003mSv$, and $0.431{\pm}0.205mSv$, respectively, while students were exposed to $0.143{\pm}0.136mSv$. Additionally, workers in the department of radiology, oncology and nuclear medicine were exposed to surface doses of $0.131{\pm}0.331mSv$, $0.009{\pm}0.003mSv$, and $0.445{\pm}0.198mSv$, respectively, while students were exposed to $0.151{\pm}0.14mSv$, which was significantly different in both doses (p < 0.01). The average dose that students received is higher than that of the other groups (except for nuclear medicine workers), indicating that further improvements must be made in systemic controls for individual radiation exposure by including the students as subjects of management for protection from radiation.
