  • The digital government is one of the most significant areas of study to emerge in information science in the past several years. The digital government is, in broad terms, a computerized system that allows a community of users to obtain a coherent means of access to an organized, electronically stored repository of information and knowledge. The information resources and technologies embodied by the World Wide Web are now accepted ad the primary example of the digital government. The need exists for a means to measure user success in the digital government. Because a digital government environment involves two broad functions?1) information search and retrieval and 2) interactivity with and through the medium-this research posits that measures of both of these functions will show positive correlation with user success.

  • Animal reproductive performance could be affected by several regulatory factors, including nutritional, environmental, and genetic factors. Particularly, during the last half of this century, animal reproductive performance has been remarkably successful in improving the efficiency of livestock production. For some traits efficiency gains have been achieved with little or no knowledge of the genes underlying the traits. And, they have depended upon the phenotypic selection by statistical methods to estimate the genetic parameters of some reproductive traits. In spite of these successes, it is clear that recent advances in both developmental biology and molecular biology are set to revolutionize he practice of animal reproductive performance n the 21th century. • NCS are the contents such as knowledge, technology, and culture demanded for performing the duties in the industrial field systemized by a nation classified with industrial divisions and levels. It is an ability standardized in the national level necessary for performing duties of industrial field successfully. Now, the society structure, due to abrupt change and development, has to secure core ability demanded to human resources in common, irrespective of kinds and positions, and lays an emphasis on vocational basis ability to softly cope with the accelerating change of labor market. This dissertation, on the basis of NCS-based vocational education curriculum, focuses on information ability, computer use ability(information management ability), one of vocational core competency used for the duties related at the department of video & broadcasting to develop learning module. In addition, this dissertation researches learning results such as satisfaction and accomplishment over learning on the object of the students who took the education.

  • In the mobile environments for the vector map services, a map simplification work through the map generalization steps helps improve the readability of the map on a large scale. The generalization operations are various such as selection, aggregation, simplification, displacement, and so on, the formal operation algorithms have not been built yet. Because the algorithms require deep special knowledge and heuristic, which make it hard to automate the processes. This thesis proposes some map generalization algorithms specialized in mobile vector map services, based on previous works. This thesis will show the detail to adapt the approaches on the mobile environment, to display complex spatial objects efficiently on the mobile devices which have restriction on the resources.

  • Rural Environmental Planning (REP) is a method used by citizens in small towns and rural areas to plan their own future. REP assumes that the primary social value of rural people is to enhance a community's longterm viability by respecting the carrying capacity of the natural environment. REP derives its strength from the direct participation of those people affected by a plan. They determine its goals, shape its content, and implement its components. And both the rural environmental planner and the citizens involved in planning in their community must have a working knowledge of the legal framework of planning. In the results, REP reduces the cost of planning by drawing public agencies, not-for-profit organizations, volunteers from the private sector, and all vital resources available to rural people when they plan for their future.

  • The most important task in Korean dairy industry is to keep the seasonal and annual balance of raw milk supply and demand. Too much surplus milk supply which causes dumping sale of market milk makes dairy industries get in trouble of management, and eventually affects to farmers and consumers economically. As balancing of supply and demand is so important in the fee economic market system, the adaption of the quota system of milk production and seasonal price differentiation has been recommended very often as a method of controlling the milk supply and demand. However, this recommendation did not go through successfully due to the strong objection of dairy farmers. Recently, the voice of consumer's requirement for safer and more hygienic, and high protein, low fat level dairy product is getting stronger. By knowledge of this kind changes, quality improvement in nutrients and hygiene is the most positive way to expand the volume of milk consumption. To meet the consumer's demand, therefore, it is necessary to revise the level of milk fat content and the hygienic grading system for the payment system of raw milk.

  • General formula are presented for the maximum power available from the tidal head in a closed basin and from the tidal currents in a channel connecting two large bodies of water. In the latter case, the available energy cannot be estimated from the kinetic energy flux in the undisturbed state, but can be obtained from knowledge of the tidal head between the ends of the channel and the maximum volume flux in the undisturbed state. The results are supported by detailed calculations for Johnstone Strait, British Columbia, using a two-dimensional finite element model. The model also allows an extension to the case of multiple channels. More work is needed to allow for partial tidal fences which do not occupy the whole cross-section of a channel.

  • The production, storage, processing and distribution of information is fast becoming a major economic activity for many nations of the world. The basic idea of this study is that knowledge and information are becoming the strategic resources and transforming agents in the information society. Therefore, in order to cope with successfully the transition toward the information society, the development of measurement tools and social indicators is essential. The purpose of this study is to fulfill three major objectives with regard to the analysis of the information sector in the information society. (1) This study suggests the theoretical definitions and social indicators of the information society. (2) This study investigates an empirical study of the information sector consisting of information industry, information workforce, and information indicator of the selected nations. (3) It advances theoretical explanations of the major factors of the growth of the information sector, and develops theoretical hypothesis and explanations of the information society.

  • Microorganism are centIal core to biosphere sm1ainablity and biogeochemical cycles on this earth. Most of food, medical and pabamceutical new materials through biotechnology are derived from many kinds of microorganisms. Microorganisms are important resources of biotechnology. Beside these, micorbial diversity is key to explore the frontiers of knowledge about the strategies and limits of life. Through the micorotganisms, we can monitor the environmental changes and conditions. Moreover, the microorganismsms play a role in conservation and restoration of higher plants and animals. And we can get a lot of ecological, evolutionary knowledges from microbial models. In spite of these importances, the microbial diversity is not properly evaluted because of their unculturablity. Only 0.001 - 3 % of total bacteria in natural habitats are cultumble and the rest are viable but uncultumble. Only 3,100 species are listed up in the Bergey's Manual. Considering the symbisis and estimated numbers of insect are more than 800,000, the symbiotic microorganisms are about 1,000,000 species. Recently, by using the genetic and molecular technics, the microbial diversity is now unveiled. In this symposium, the genetic, species and ecological diversity will be given. given.

  • This study explored how intrinsic and extrinsic motivation relates to achieving creativity at project work. We were interested in differences in how motivational factors relate to creativity. Using data from the 98 engineers and researchers employed by a variety of companies, principal components factor analysis with marimax rotation was performed on the data. We examined effects of the moderate variables the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and creativity relationship. The results indicate of positive mental involvement, the time and the resource constraints relates positively to creativity in organizations and that the relationship is a simple linear one. These outcomes are significantly related to intrinsic motivation and the creativity. In additions, extrinsic motivation is related to less the creativity. Our survey findings are also consistent with other sources of knowledge on the topic. Our results suggest that there are two different role: mental involvement, time and resources constraints, both of which predict creativity, and external control and extrinsic motivations reduce to creativity.
