As the recent demand for human resources in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), the development of professional STEM teacher is called worldwide. It is becoming a critical need in teacher education in order to educate student teachers, and prepare pre-service and beginning teachers for high quality of teaching competency. To promote the competency for $21^{st}$ century STEM teachers, the epistemology of technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) is currently considered as the essential qualities of knowledge for highly qualified teachers. The aim of this study is explore the effect of case-based learning approach on TPACK competency of pre-service STEM teachers. In order to develop the pre-service teachers' competency regarding effective integration of technologies into teaching specific content areas, a series of innovative case study teaching in science and mathematics was presented to 43 participants of pre-service physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, and computer teachers during a course of information and communication technology (ICT) in Education at Khon Kaen University, Thailand. After finishing a case presentation, the pre-service teachers were encouraged into a forum of critical open discussion by considering the potential impact of the case and the TPACK framework. They were investigated instructional design competency of using ICT tools into student learning process and their personal beliefs about ICT in educational process both before and after. The participant's reactions and learning was evaluated by using a self-reported questionnaire and an implementation log of content-specific learning process design, respectively. Results showed a change of their beliefs and the transformation of their TPACK competency in STEM teaching. In an effort to better serve the needs of high quality STEM teachers, the results of this study illustrated that the competency of TPACK could be particularly considered as a core attributes for future STEM teachers. By the way, case-based learning approach can play an effective part in preparing and professing the TPACK competency for STEM teachers.
The purpose of this study was to use the result as basic resources for oral health project for elderly people. we found the needs of oral health project and perceived oral health status, oral health knowledge, attitude, behavior of elderly people. we conducted a study on 194 elderly more than 60 years living in several social welfare facility, asylum, or care centers in Jeolla province. Through self-filled questionnaires and direct interviews from December 2008 to January 2009. The obtained result were as follows. 1. In perceived oral health status, 57.7% of respondents said they have hypersensitivity and 42.8% of respondents needed denture. 2. In oral health promoting behavior, 67.0% of respondents said they didn't have any tooth brushing and 45.9% of respondents said they haven't visited to dentist for the last year. 3. In oral health knowledge, 94.8% of respondents gave correct answers on dental caries prevention but only 7.2% of respondents gave correct answers on dental caries cause. 4. In oral health attitude, 40.2% of respondents said they don't recognize the importance of oral hygiene devices. 46.9% of respondents the unnecessary to see a dentist even though they don't have toothache. 5. Needs of oral health project, 53.6% of respondents said they wanted to have a dentist come over their house. Therefore, oral health projects should have vehicles of dental treatment equipment. It is necessary to visit places where elderly people live and treat them in person. Also, it is vital to continue educate people about oral health knowledge in a systematic way to change their attitude toward oral health. Moreover, it is necessary to implement oral health promotion behavior more proactively.

Studies for efficient information retrieval and reuse of information resources using the ontology techniques are being in progress in various fields. In this paper, we build an ontology to provide a food additive information for consumers given by the KFDA and food safety information portal. Food additives were represented in OWL based knowledge using $Prot{\acute{e}}g{\acute{e}}$. We defined Class, Property, Relationships for providing food additives names, origins, purposes and basic information. In order to retrieve the information of the food additive, we built 679 instances with an ontology, and confirmed the results through DL Query queries. We can expect that the food additives ontology shown in this paper will help the integration and improvement of the information retrieval systems of the related fields in future.

With the recent demand for analysis using data, the size of the knowledge graph, which is the data to be analyzed, gradually increased, reaching about 82 billion edges when extracted from the web as a knowledge graph. A lot of knowledge graphs are represented in the form of Resource Description Framework (RDF), which is a standard of W3C for representing metadata for web resources. Because of the characteristics of RDF, existing RDF storages have the limitations of processing time overhead when converting and storing large amounts of RDF data. To resolve these limitations, in this paper, we propose a method of compressing and converting large amounts of RDF data into integer IDs using MapReduce, and vertically partitioning and storing them. Our proposed method demonstrated a high performance improvement of up to 25.2 times compared to RDF-3X and up to 3.7 times compared to H2RDF+.
We examined plants that were used as temple food in Jeju from May 2011 to January 2012. Thirty-six temples participated in the study, and there were 58 questionnaire respondents. Fifty-seven taxa were used as temple food, which belonged to 27 families, 51 genera, 55 species, and two varieties. The most commonly used family-based taxa were eight species of Compositae, six species of Cruciferae, and four species of Umbelliferae. Ten species of woody plants and 25 species of Jeju native plants were also used as temple food. The most useful part was the leaf, followed by the root, leaflet, and fruit. A patent search showed that most of the surveyed plants were covered by intellectual property rights. Forty-eight species had food-related patents, 34 species had cosmetics-related patents, and 38 species had medicine-related patents. The purchase and procurement of Jeju temple food plants usually depended on the market or plant cultivation rather than the use of the plants. Gathering of wild herbs for temple food has been performed on a limited basis. Therefore, collecting traditional knowledge for the use of Jeju plant resources should be conducted under different conditions rather than through a temple-related study.
It is becoming more essential than ever for office professionals to become competent in information collection/gathering and problem solving in today's global business society. In particular, office professionals do not only assist simple chores but are also forced to make decisions as quickly and efficiently as possible in problematic situations that can end in either profit or loss to their company. Since office professionals rely heavily on their tacit knowledge to solve problems that arise in everyday business situations, it is truly helpful and efficient to refer to similar business cases from the past and share or reuse such previous business knowledge for better performance results. Case-based reasoning(CBR) is a problem-solving method which utilizes previous similar cases to solve problems. Through CBR, the closest case to the current business situation can be searched and retrieved from the case or knowledge base and can be referred to for a new solution. This reduces the time and resources needed and increase success probability. The main purpose of this study is to design a system called COKRS(Case-based reasoning Office Knowledge Recommender System) and develop a prototype for it. COKRS manages cases and their meta data, accepts key words from the user and searches the casebase for the most similar past case to the input keyword, and communicates with users to collect information about the quality of the case provided and continuously apply the information to update values on the similarity table. Core concepts like system architecture, definition of a case, meta database, similarity table have been introduced, and also an algorithm to retrieve all similar cases from past work history has also been proposed. In this research, a case is best defined as a work experience in office administration. However, defining a case in office administration was not an easy task in reality. We surveyed 10 office professionals in order to get an idea of how to define a case in office administration and found out that in most cases any type of office work is to be recorded digitally and/or non-digitally. Therefore, we have defined a record or document case as for COKRS. Similarity table was composed of items of the result of job analysis for office professionals conducted in a previous research. Values between items of the similarity table were initially set to those from researchers' experiences and literature review. The results of this study could also be utilized in other areas of business for knowledge sharing wherever it is necessary and beneficial to share and learn from past experiences. We expect this research to be a reference for researchers and developers who are in this area or interested in office knowledge recommendation system based on CBR. Focus group interview(FGI) was conducted with ten administrative assistants carefully selected from various areas of business. They were given a chance to try out COKRS in an actual work setting and make some suggestions for future improvement. FGI has identified the user-interface for saving and searching cases for keywords as the most positive aspect of COKRS, and has identified the most urgently needed improvement as transforming tacit knowledge and knowhow into recorded documents more efficiently. Also, the focus group has mentioned that it is essential to secure enough support, encouragement, and reward from the company and promote positive attitude and atmosphere for knowledge sharing for everybody's benefit in the company.
