The Effects of the Purpose of Fisheries Firms' Social Contributions through Fisheries Firms' Brand Evaluation on Purchase Intention (수산기업의 사회공헌목적이 수산기업의 브랜드평가를 매개로 구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigates the effects of the purpose of fishery firms' social contributions on consumers' purchase intention as a mediator or their fishery firms' brand evaluation. We surveyed 300 consumers in order to empirically test the suggested relationship. The purpose of fishery firms' social contributions was divided into social contribution activities and public interest marketing strategies. Fishery firms' brand evaluation was divided into three aspects including brand awareness, brand image, and brand loyalty. The results showed that the purpose of fishery firms' social contributions significantly affect consumers' purchase intention, brand loyalty as well as brand image except brand awareness. Fishery firms' brand evaluation significantly affect consumers' purchase intention. This study suggests that social contribution activities and public interest marketing strategies are essential for the positive brand evaluation of fishery firms.

Influence of Self-construal and Self-monitoring on Brand Product Preference -Focusing on the Moderating Effect of Brand Visibility- (자기해석과 자기감시가 브랜드 가시성에 따라 제품 선호에 미치는 영향)

  • This study investigated the influence of consumers' self-construal and self-monitoring on brand product preference by moderating brand visibility. Brand visibility consisted of product typicality and brand salience. The study results showed that respondents preferred products with high product typicality and low brand salience. Respondents with interdependent self-construal and high self-monitoring also showed a higher preference for high product typicality and low brand salience versus respondents with independent self-construal and low self-monitoring. Respondents preferred a product when they recognized a brand name, but brand visibility should be exposed naturally. Based on these results, this study has practical implications for the importance of maintaining brand identity and the appropriacy of brand logo size.

The Impact of Salesperson Look-Brand Personality Congruence on Brand Affect: The Moderating Role of Social Anxiety

  • Branded service encounters, in which various aspects of frontline employees are strategically aligned with the firm's brand positioning, can be achieved along several dimensions such as employee appearance, manner, and personality. While previous research has mainly focused on behavioral traits of employees, this research examines the employee's physical appearance in association with the brand personality trait across two studies. Study 1 shows that salesperson look-brand personality congruence enhances brand affect by inducing positive affect. Specifically, a brand-congruent look of a salesperson increases positive affect among customers by confirming their prior expectations about what a salesperson of a certain brand should look like as a brand representative. Study 2 reveals that the positive impact of salesperson look-brand personality congruence on brand affect is significant only for customers with high social anxiety whereas this effect disappears for those with low social anxiety. These findings extend previous research on branded service encounters by showing why and when frontline employees' physical appearance shapes customers' affective responses toward the brand.

The Effect of Consumers' Brand Identification of Fashion Luxury Product on Brand Affect and Brand Loyalty (패션명품에 대한 소비자의 브랜드 동일시가 브랜드 감정과 브랜드 충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of brand identification of fashion luxury product on brand loyalty and the mediating effect of brand affect. The questionnaire developed through the literature search and a survey was conducted both in on-line and off-line questionnaire simultaneously. Finally 227 data from women who had a buying experience of fashion luxury products were analyzed using frequency, factor analysis, ANOVA, t-test, regression analysis by SPSS for WIN program. The results were as follows. First, the consumers' brand identification was composed of three factors; actual, ideal, social. Second, the brand identification significantly influenced on the brand loyalty. Third, the brand identification significantly influenced on the brand affect. Fourth, the brand affect significantly influenced on the brand loyalty. Fifth, the brand identification had both direct and indirect effects on brand loyalty mediated by brand affect. The results indicated that causal relationship was existed among these three variables.

  • The purpose of this study was intended to investigate influence of consumer's brand loyalty, competitor's brand price and brand switching intention in condition of discount sale of casual apparel products. The data for the study was obtained through the use of an experimental design which was $2{\times}[2{\times}2]$ mixed factorial design. The subjects were 730 college students. The data were analyzed by cluster analysis, ANOVA, simple interaction analysis and simple main-effect analysis. The following results were founded: First, The results indicated that the 3-way interaction effects among consumer's brand loyalty competitor's brand price and discount on brand switching of casual apparel products. Second, the results indicated that the 3-way interaction effects among consumer's brand loyalty competitor's brand price and discount on consumer preference of casual apparel products. These results indicated that low brand loyalty group on casual products showed high preference and high brand switching on competitors brand when competitor's brand price was lower than preferred brand price and discount type was absolute frame. High bran loyalty group on casual apparel products preferred and switched high competitor's brand when discount type was absolute frame.

Fashion Brand Attachment and Attitudes Toward Brand Extension (패션 브랜드애착이 확장된 브랜드 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of fashion brand attachment on attitudes toward brand extension. Two hundred thirty-four female college students participated in this study. For this study, Bean Pole brand was selected for the example of brand extension through three pre-test. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, multiple regression, and ANOVA were used for this study. As the results, first, brand attachment was classified into three factors such as 'love', 'trust', and 'interest' factors. Second, attitudes toward brand extension were divided into two factors such as similarity of brand extension and purchasing intention. Generally, higher scores on brand attachment was correlated with higher scores on altitudes toward brand extension. Third, results revealed that generally 'love' and 'trust' factors had affected 'attitudes toward brand extension' or 'purchasing intention'. Fourth, among the three groups (heavy/middle/low) of brand attachment, the heavy group showed higher preference of brand extension attitudes. Based on these results, fashion brand marketing strategies would be suggested.

A Study on Brand Language Localization Affecting Original Brand Image Similarity Recognition and Purchase Intentions (브랜드의 언어 현지화가 고유 브랜드와의 이미지 유사성 인식과 구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine whether foodservice brand language localization affects consumer attitudes in terms of similar brand image recognition with an original brand. Many global foodservice companies have tried to modify their own brand identity according to local situations in order to attract more consumers. According to this study's results, consumers who similarly recognized both the original brand image and localization brand image tended to have greater purchase intention than those who did not recognize them similarly. In addition, when the original brand identity was changed to the local language, consumers more similarly conceived the original brand image and localization. And for local store marketing, foodservice companies should have a thorough marketing research plan since there can be difference results according to brand name recognition gaps or demographic characteristics. Original brand image similarity recognition by consumers affected their attitudes. In other words, the group that similarly recognized both the original brand company image and the localization brand company image tended to have greater purchase intention. Because brand language plays an important role in consumer attitudes with respect to recognizing a brand and distinguishing another brand, this study suggests that franchise foodservice companies have a local store marketing plan.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand interrelationships among the congruence of brand personality of family restaurants with the self image of customers, brand identification, and loyalty. The results showed a positive relationship between congruence of brand personality of family restaurants with the self image of customers and brand identification. However, the congruence of brand personality of family restaurants with the self image of customers does not have a direct effect on brand loyalty, and congruence of self image with a pertinent brand is perceived through brand identification. In addition, it was found that the brand identification of family restaurants has a positive effect on brand loyalty. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.

  • This study investigates the effect of Alpha-numeric brand name on the product suitability, brand personality, and attitude. To do that we have chosen the functional sportswear, knowing the fact that the Alpha-numeric brand names are not hard to find in this industry. The changes have been made to Alpha-numeric names, such as the usage/non-usage of number, the size of number being used, the writing method, and the different typeface to suit for the study purpose. The results indicate that the Alpha-numeric brand names do have the effect on increasing the fitness for the product's brand. The bigger number and the cursive script will improve the product's suitability. The customers form positive attitude and favorability on the Alpha-numeric brand name compared to the regular brand name in this industry. The contribution of the study is to dig out the distinction of the communicational effects on the customers when the Alpha-numeric brand names take on the different forms. Therefore the current study enlights the practical value of Alpha-numeric brand name as part of the branding strategy.

The Relationship between Brand Authenticity, Brand Equity and Customer Satisfaction

  • This study examines the relationship between brand authenticity, brand equity, and customer satisfaction. A total of 263 participants participated in this study. Participants rated a set of three brands: Apple, Starbuck, and Nike. Each participant rated the extent to which the items described his or her authenticity with the brands listed, the equity of the brands listed, and feelings of satisfaction toward the brands. This study employs confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling. The results indicate that 1) brand authenticity positively relates to brand equity, and 2) brand authenticity effects to customer satisfaction. The findings suggest that marketers can use the brand authenticity for assessment, planning, and tracking purposes to understand the authenticity of their brands for their customers. Products of authenticity brand are better liked, viewed as higher quality, offer greater value and are more likely to be purchased than less authenticity brand. They can command a significant price premium. The findings provide useful support and evidence for brand management, as well as companies in other developing countries, to engage more in brand practices as a core element of their strategic and brand management. This means that managers should work to increase perceptions of authenticity for their offerings.
