  • The purpose of this study was to provide the basic data needed to create more desirable psychological home environment and the prevention and relief of depression by examining the relations between psychological home environment and depression with the subjects of high school students. The study materials included standard questionnaires made up of forty two questions on psychological home environment by Dr. Jeong, Won-sik(1981), twenty one questions on depression indicators by Beck(1969). Collected data were analyzed by using SPSSWIN 10.0 Program through frequency, percentile, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, and Pearson correlation coefficient. The main results of this study were as follows; Out of 210 perfect scores for the psychological home environment of the subjects, the mean was $140.54{\pm}11.21$, opening was $41.02{\pm}5.67$, affection was $37.59{\pm}5.80$, autonomy was $35.45{\pm}4.85$, and achievement was $26.48{\pm}6.79$. The depression of the subjects were slight, showing $13.78{\pm}9.73$, with normal condition (0-9scores) 40.0%, slight depression(10-15scores) 23.3%, mild depression(16-23scores) 20.3%, severe depression(24-63scores) 16.4%. The analyses of the relation between psychological home environment and depression of the subjects reveal that achievement-depression(r=.192, p=.000), opening-depression (r=-.296, p=.000), affection-depression(r=-.377, p=.000), and autonomy-depression(r=-.341, p=.000) has all meaningful relations. In summary, these data can be interpreted that high school students were likely to feel more depressed when they recognized their own home environment as under the burden of achievement, and to feel less depressed when they recognized it as open, affectionate, and autonomous.

  • Collection and use of personal information have enabled firms to improve their value propositions by offering personalization. On the other hand, they have caused widespread concerns by consumers that their privacy is invaded. Because previously distributed personal information can be integrated and utilized to offer more personalized services, those concerns may be intensified with the progress of the digital convergence environment. In this study, factors for privacy invasion and their impact on the privacy concerns are suggested. Then, an empirical study is conducted to examine some of the suggestions. From the analysis, several results are derived. First, as more personal data are collected, secrecy and autonomy concerns increase exponentially rather than steadily. Second, as targeting accuracy is improved, greater secrecy and autonomy concerns are expressed by consumers, but less seclusion concerns. Finally, monetary reward such as coupons can reduce seclusion concerns when targeting accuracy is high. Based on the results, implications for managing consumer privacy concerns are provided under digital convergence environment.

  • Education on the physician continues with undergraduate medical education, graduate medical education, and continuous medical education. The countries such as the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, German, and others are required to undergo training in the clinical field for 2 years after completing the national medical examination, and to become doctors after passing the clinical practice license test. Korea can obtain a medical license and become a clinical doctor at the same time if it passes written and practical tests after completing 6 years of undergraduate medical education or 4 years of graduate school. About 90% of medical school graduates replace clinical practice with 4-5 years of training to acquire professional qualifications, but this is an option for individual doctors rather than an extension of the licensing system under law. The medical professional qualification system is implemented by the Ministry of Health and Welfare on the regulation. In fact, under the supervision of the government, the Korean Hospital Association, the Korean Medical Association, and the Korean Academy of Medical Sciences progress most procedures. After training and becoming a specialist, the only thing that is given to a specialist is the right to mark him or her as a specialist in marking a medical institution and advertising. The government's guidelines for professional training are too restrictive, such as the recruitment method of residents, annual training courses of residents, dispatch rule of the residents, and the quota of residents of training hospitals. Although professional training systems are operated in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, most of them are organized and operated by public professional organizations and widely recognize the autonomy of academic institutions and hospitals. Korea should also introduce a compulsory education system after graduating from medical education and organize and initiate by autonomic public professional organization that meets global standards.

Now nursing is trying to find independence and autonomy by carrying out independent professional skills. This study on collaboration and the obstacles hindering its pursuit. The strategies of collaboration to give better health care quality are as follows; First, a program for professionals should be developed to enhance professional knowledge and technology and train nursing professionals so that nursing can be acknowledged as a profession with a power to carry out on independent job. Second, collaboration reduces expenses and results in satisfactory performances of duty, high productivity, low incidence of medical accident, and higher satisfaction of the patient. Therefore the leader in the higher position should take positive stance for collaboration and help create a cooperative situation through the development of practical orders for collaboration. opening cooperative wards, and meeting for collaboration. Third, a collaboration model should be introduced into the courses of the nursing and medical school curriculum, which would influence job atmosphere after graduation. Fourth, nurses should have pride in their jobs as professionals and have confidence in their professional skill, knowledge and ability. Nurses should make an effort to share responsibility and have independence and autonomy. Fifth, common people as well as doctors know little about professional practice and the role of nurses, so a publicity campaign is also required.
