The future costs of energy and the cost of the repair of apartment buildings are expected to rise continuously in proportion to the initial costs. Therefore it has become important for these increasing costs to be incorporated and reflected in the design of the building. Systems such as structure and services for the buildings remain constant, but a number of the walls and windows can vary and thus have a major influence on the total construction and running costs of a building. The critical factor in the apartment unit design for the optimization of life cycle cost (LCC) is the ratio of the x and y axis of the walls in the unit plan. This paper demonstrates how to achieve the optimal size and thus optimize the LCC of the building.

First of all, the multi-story Housing applying resident's participation in europe was classified by the menu selection method, the two-step supply method and the cooperative method. And then I analyzed flexible unit plan of cases for deriving the planning methode and the characteristics of flexibility. First, I analyzed the area and form of the unit plan, structure and Installation, fixed and variable elements to derive the planning method. The area of units are distributed from a minimum of $35m^2$ to a maximum of $150m^2$, and many of the unit planes have a narrow front and a deep depth. The structure is a long-span wall-structure or a skeleton structure, and is designed without any columns and bearing walls in the interior space for flexibility in spatial composition. The vertical shafts are located in the center of the unit in a box-form or in the corner at the unit dividing wall for free placement of interior wall. Fixed elements are framework and facility systems. Most of the future residents in the two-steps supply method and the cooperative method were able to freely design the internal space within the zoning concept proposed by the architect and change the location of the facade element within module system proposed by the architect. Second, the characteristics of the flexibility applied to the unit plan were divided in integrated flexibility, functional flexibility, construction flexibility, and supply flexibility. The integrated flexibility enables residents to give the variable space combination based on the complex structure of the inner space for providing various living experiences. Regarding functional flexibility, the three-dimensional spatial structure with neutral space has multi-functionality according to the needs of residents and easily accepts mixing of hybrid programs such as work and residence. Constructive flexibility allows residents to create identity by freely planning interior space and changing the size or location of facade components in a determined system of architects. Finally, various types of size and space composition are proposed and realized in the whole building applying menu selection method, so that flexibility in the offer can accommodate and integrate various types of living.

In the last decades, the increasing interest in unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) for military, surveillance, and rescue applications made necessary the development of flight control theory and body structure more and more efficient and fast. In this paper, we describe the design and performance of a prototype hexarotor UAV platform featuring an inertial measurement unit(IMU) based autonomous-flying for use in bluetooth communication environments. The proposed system comprises the construction of the test hexarotor platform, the implementation of an IMU, dynamic modeling and simulation in the hexarotor helicopter. Furthermore, the hexarotor helicopter with implemented IMU is connected with a micro controller unit(ARM-cortex) board. The P-PD control algorithm was used to control the hexarotor. We used the Matlab software to help us to tune the P-PD control parameters for quick response and minimizing the fluctuation. The control simulation and experiment on the real system are implemented in the test platform, evaluated and compared against each other.

A light guide panel (LGP) is an element of the LCD back light unit, which is used for display devices. In this study, a laser marking process is applied to the fabrication of light guide panels as the new fabrication process. In order to obtain a light guide panel which has high luminance and uniformity, four principal parameters such as power, scanning speed, ratio of line gap, and number of line were selected as important factors. A Web-based design tool was developed to generate patterns of light guide panel, and the tool may assist the designer to develop optimized patterns. Topcon-BM7 was used for luminance measurement of each specimen 100mm$\times$100mm area. By Taguchi method optimized levels of each parameters such as 40W of power, 30mm/s of scanning speed, 100:50 ratio of pattern gap, and 90 line of pattern were found by Taguchi method.

In the capital of Mongolia where the air quality is getting worse due to the coal consumption used for electricity generation and district heating, the application of geothermal systems in the housing sector is recently designed for high class resort. In this study, the case of applying a geothermal system in a house in Mongolia is examined. The effects of passive house design on the needed heat pump capacity, as well as the annual energy consumption are analyzed. Moreover, as the initial costs, except labor fee, are assumed similar to Korea, cost analysis for several cases is examined, too. From the results, if a house is designed according to passive house standard instead of ASHRAE standard, the heat pump capacity can be expected to be reduced from 16 to 5~6 RT. Furthermore, although the initial cost of architectural cost might increased by 29 M\, the total initial cost is reduced by 14 M\, while the annual energy consumption is reduced by 14%. This is mainly driven by the fact that the geothermal system which serves as the main system to cover the building needs, with a high initial cost for fulfilling the peak requirements.
Currently the variety of governmental business support and research for supplying solar energy have been actively progressed. As of now, however, There are no practical testing infrastructures of grid-connected photovoltaic system which test performance of solar power facility in domestic. Therefore, in KEPRI, there is in progress construction of practical testing ground of 500 kW class grid-connected PV System for developing the evaluation of the performance technology including the Module, PCS, and etc, that is the important instrument of the PV System, in Gochang area. It analyzed the site creation work for constructing the practical testing ground and new construction of control room and the unit standards, specifications and capacity of required equipment. For the system detailed design, configuration, instrument-specific parameters established, power generation predictions of Array Type and the components of testing ground are needed to build.
The Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs has announced a policy which can enable the building of urban type housing with the use of a prefabrication method 2010. However, such may possibly be at standstill owing to the prefabrication methodology that has not been currently developed in Korea. Moreover, small households of consisting of one or two family members have been steadily increasing, but the small housing units in which they reside has been decreasing. Due to this situation, urban type housing has been proposed. To expand the propagation of such urban type housing and to promote prefabrication methods, the top priority project is to develop a technology that is able to reduce construction costs, as well as to shorten the actual construction period. In consideration of this prefabrication system for an avenue to solve such problems, a series of systems and policies for the fostering of prefabricated urban type housing has been proposed. This study is to review a series of methods, technologies and policies that are required for such urban type housing and henceforth, to utilize such as preliminary data for further prefabricated urban type housing.

While the pavement design is based on mechanical property such dynamic elastic modulus, the quality of highway subgrade during construction is controled by the optimum moisture content(OMC) and maximum dry density(${\gamma}$$\_$dmax/). However, since the quality control based on the OMC and maximum dry density does not consider the mechanical characteristics, there is a conceptional gap between design and PMS(pavement management system). Therefore, it is necessary to develope a new qualify control system using mechanical property for highway construction in more rational way. To achieve this goal, it is planned to perform various laboratory tests to collect mechanical properties of subgrade soil samples from several highway construction sites and to propose the relationship between dry unit weight (or OMC) and mechanical parameters. In this paper, the experimental data so far obtained are presented and analyzed. In addition, further research plan is presented and discussed.
Bamboo is seen as a low cost, lightweight, widely available and environmental-friendly material. In Vietnam, it also connects deeply to our culture. However, it wasn't seen as a viable material for large structures before VTN Architects. Furthermore, Vietnamese cities are facing the same environmental problems as many developing metropolises in the world. Globally, climate change is a serious issue. The need for sustainable construction material is clear. The increasing development of eco-tourism in Vietnam and Asia is also a background. These become the background to the foundation and the development of bamboo architecture by VTN Architects. The journal analyses our development of bamboo construction, joints, structures, and how to use them to realise space and to create eco-friendly architecture. We will talk about our process of bamboo procurement, our construction methods, our unique joint system, how we make a frame unit and how we construct VTN bamboo structures from units.
