Today, the curtain wall is used in many construction projects because of excellent economical efficiency and constructability. The life-cycle process of curtain wall construction consists of the architectural design, curtain wall design, manufacturing, const겨ction, and maintenance phase which has become one of the most important objects that have to be managed. Since the general management method focused on each separated phase, it has accompanied many problems such as increases of the cost and duration, and loss of productivity. To solve these problems, it is necessa교 to have a new management method based on supply chain management. Thus this research analysed the processes of stick system, semi-unit system, unit system, and panel system classified by the type of the curtain wall, and suggested proper methods of application of SCM concept to each type of curtain wall construction.

The new HVAC system is developed to lower the conveyance energy and building height using IAV(Increasing Air Volume) technique. IAV units which are equipped in each zone carry out air-conditioning and supply fresh air by induction of outdoor air in main duct. The design program which decides size of OAHU and IAV unit according to air conditioning load and fresh air demand of each zone is presented. The control system is developed to operate efficiently HVAC system and IAV unit, so that individual zone operation and well-deal with partial load and IAQ problem are possible. The new system is investigated in model building and makes more profit in conveyance energy. size of air conditioning facilities room and building height than VAV system. But in construction cost it is worse by about 15 percentage.

Civil engineering construction work has always been accompanied by a high proportion of tasks that are either dangerous or unpleasant or both. Enhancing the general working environment and boosting safety levels are critical issues for the industry. In addition to that, the industry has been slow to utilize automation & robot technology, and there is substantial scope for the use of technology th boost efficiency, cut costs and improve quality levels in construction. In a bid to address this issue, Ministry of Construction & Transportation launched a five-year project in 2003 entitled Development of Intelligent Excavating System. The aim of the project is to use telecommunications and robotics technology to minimize inefficiencies and eliminate the dangerous and unpleasant aspects of tile construction process through the development of specific applications such as IT-equipped construction machinery and advanced construction management systems. In this paper, the project introduces on the research and development content related to multi-disciplinary, a intuitive operator control unit(Robot Technology) included.

This paper presents a tool called Quality-Cost optimization system (QCOS), which integrates Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm (MOGA) and Quality Function Deployment (QFD), for tradeoff between quality and cost of the unitized metal curtain-wall unit. A construction owner as the external customer pursues to maximize the quality of the curtain-wall unit. However, the contractor as the internal customer pursues to minimize the cost involved in designing, manufacturing and installing the curtain-wall unit. It is crucial for project manager to find the tradeoff point which satisfies the conflicting interests pursued by the both parties. The system would be beneficial to establish a quality plan satisfying the both parties. Survey questionnaires were administered to the construction owner who has an experience of curtain-wall project, the architects who are the independent assessor, and the contractors who were involved in curtain-wall design and installation. The Customer Requirements (CRs) and their importance weights, the relationship between CRs and Technical Attributes (TAs) consisting of a curtain-wall unit, and the cost ratios of each components consisting curtain-wall unit are obtained from the three groups mentioned previously. The data obtained from the surveys were used as the QFD input to compute the Owner Satisfaction (OS) and Contractor Satisfaction (CS). MOGA is applied to optimize resource allocation under limited budget when multi-objectives, OS and CS, are pursued at the same time. The deterministic multi-objective optimization method using MOGA and QFD is extended to stochastic model to better deal with the uncertainties of QFD input and the variability of QFD output. A case study demonstrates the system and verifies the system conformance.

Bridge construction cost estimates have generally been conducted by using historial unit-price(per meter or square meter). The traditional estimating method based on unit-price references can never completely reflect the specialty of cable supported bridge. In this paper, we have developed the system for supporting the approximate construction cost and the quantity estimation based on 3D model information in the pre-project planning phase of 3-span continuous suspension bridge with 2-pylons. First of all, we'd analyzed the design information (such as structural design report, blueprint and quantity) and the real cost data from the existing suspension bridges and derived the design variables of the bridges. We developed the BIM wizard that generates a suspension bridge model parametrically based on derived design variables. The principle material quantities of suspension bridge are calculated directly from 3-dimensional bridge model built by using the BIM wizard. We have established the system that the construction cost can be estimated more specific than the traditional estimating method.
In this paper, a high efficiency satellite electrical power supply system is proposed. The increased efficiency of the power supply system allows for downscaling of the solar array and battery weight, which are among the most important satellite design considerations. The satellite power supply system comprises two units, namely a generation unit and a storage unit. To increase the efficiency of the solar array, a maximum power point tracker (MPPT) is used in the power generation unit. In order to improve the MPPT performance, a novel algorithm is proposed on the basis of the hill climbing method. This method can track the main peak of the array power curve in satellites with long duration missions under unpredicted circumstances such as a part of the array being damaged or the presence of a shadow. A lithium-ion battery is utilized in the storage unit. An algorithm for calculating the optimal rate of battery charging is proposed where the battery is charged with the maximum possible efficiency considering the situation of the satellite. The proposed system is designed and manufactured. In addition, it is compared to the conventional power supply systems in similar satellites. Results show a 12% increase in the overall efficiency of the power supply system when compared to the conventional method.

The refractory-lined pipe is used to protect the system from high-temperature of the internal flow. The property of the refractory has an effect upon the stress analysis for fluid catalytic cracking(FCC) unit piping design. The equivalent elastic modulus and density considering steel and refractory must be applied in the stress analysis of the system. In the research, the theoretical method to obtain the value of the equivalent property is introduced and then the parametric analysis is carried out to understand the characteristic of the material properties, and the stress analysis is performed with reactor, the part of FCC unit.

Currently, the unit price of public construction projects are not being evaluated appropriately for several reasons. First, the evaluation of the unit price differ per nature of the bidding process and its estimation process. In fact, pricing is determined to meet the total price in turnkey projects and to pass the low bid price deliberation process in unit price projects, and thus, such prices cannot be said to be reasonable prices per public project. After the contract is awarded, however, the prices determined without taking into consideration the characteristic of each bidding process and price estimate process are used for the valuation of progress payment, design changes, and escalation. Furthermore, this is also being applied to other low bid deliberation process as actual public project unit price, thereby affecting other processes as well. In effect, this system increases the risks for both the owner and the bidder who have determined the unit price. This research examines the risk factor and its extent in order to properly manage it in preparation for the future.

The modular building system is a type of prefabricated construction method, and is an industrialized building system that transports, assembles, and completes a three-dimensional module manufactured in a factory to the site. The economics of a modular building system where 50 to 80% of the entire process takes place in a modular factory is dominated by productivity of the factory manufacturing process. Since the building of the module is finished by the combination of unit parts produced by each material, it is necessary to manage the process in each module unit. However, currently marketed process control programs do not reflect the features of these modular methods. In this paper, we introduce Modular Factory Design software(MFD 2019) that can make modular unit production plan which reflects production base(modular factory) and production target(application and number of modular units). In order to verify software compatibility and reliability, two production plans with different production methods were formulated and simulated.

Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition(SCADA) of electric power system refersto the system that displays, monitors and executes the control commands for remote electric power system. KNR's existing electric power control system is built on UNIX platform such that it costs more for system construction, and people with UNIX skills can only be an operator who controls and manages the system. Moreover, since the system is mainly operated in local offices, system operators must communicate with local operators to investigate the cause of the accident and react the accident every time the system fails. As a new integrated SCADA system is constructed, establishment of small-unit electric power control system, that alters local electric power control system in designated stations, is required. In this study, the electric power control system, which accommodates all functions of UNIX-based SCADA system and facilitates operation and even maintenance for local operators, is to be developed. In order to develop small-unit electric power control system, the industrial automation program, "Cimon", is used. The small-unit electric power control system that accommodatesRTU and newly installed electronic switchboard is being developed and tested at Chulam station of KNR.
