부하지속곡선(LDC)을 이용한 영산강 · 탐진강수계 오염총량관리 목표수질 평가방법 적용 방안 (Application of the Load Duration Curve (LDC) to Evaluate the Rate of Achievement of Target Water Quality in the Youngsan · Tamjin River Watersheds)

  • Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) System has been used to improve water quality in the Youngsan·Tamjin river basin since 2004. The Basic Policy of TMDLs sets up the standard flow based on the average dry condition or mid-range flow during the last 10 years. However, Target Water Quality (TWQ) assessment on TMDLs has been used to evaluate water quality through eight-day intervals over 36 times a year. The results for allocation evaluation and target water quality evaluation were different from each other in the same unit watershed during the first period. In order to improve the evaluation method, researchers applied Load Duration Curve (LDC) to evaluate water quality in nine unit watersheds of the Youngsan·Tamjin river basin. The results showed that achievement rates of TWQ assessment with the current method and LDC were 67~100% and 78~100%, respectively. Approximately 11% of the achievement rates with use of LDC were higher than those with use of the current method. In conclusion, it is necessary to review the application of the LDC method in all Four Major River Watersheds.

우수저류조 유닛의 하중강도에 대한 모의실험 분석 (Simulation on Loading Strength of Rainwater Storage Tank Unit)

  • The design of rainwater storage system unit to manufacture its reservoir tank was tried, the simulation to predict of their structural strength was carried out. Rainwater storage system unit should be easy to their machinability, transport and assemble. Especially, their structure was able to secure the water storage space, withstand loads and easily response to pollution. Considering these various requirements, they have to Doria-pillar structure of the Roman architectural style because these designs could disperse the loads which are applied to them. Therefore, the six kinds of models possible were proposed. Several boundary conditions were given to each model. Their structural strength was predicted through the simulation on their stress and the displacement distribution to constant load. From the evaluated data, the structure which has a large pillar in the central of unit and four small pillars each corner was the best.

유량지속곡선을 이용한 수문특성별 한강수계 총량관리 단위유역의 오염기여도 추정 (Estimation of Pollution Contribution TMDL Unit Watershed in Han-River according to hydrological characteristic using Flow Duration Curve)

  • After the Total Maximum Daily Loads(TMDLs) was applied, it became beyond the limit of concentration management. However, it does not adequately reflect the characteristics of various watersheds, and causes problems with local governments because of the standard flow set. Thus, in this study, the Han River system is organized into four groups in estimating the Pollution Contribution by applying the Flow Duration Curve(FDC) created by the daily flow of data from the HSPF. And the method of this study is expected to be valuable as basic data for the TMDLs. As a result, Group I contains the main watersheds with no large hydraulic structures and tributary watersheds. There is no specificity in the FDC and the Pollution Contribution is estimated as rainfall runoff. Group II contains watersheds near the city where the FDC is maintained above a certain level during the Low Flow Conditions and the Pollution Contribution is estimated as the discharge flow of large scale point pollution facilities. Group III contains the main watersheds in which the large hydraulic structures are installed and FDC is curved in the Low Flow Conditions. So the Pollution Contribution is estimated as the water quality of the large hydraulic structures. Group IV contains the upstream in mainstream watersheds in which the large hydraulic structures are installed and the FDC is disabled before the Low Flow Conditions. As the flow is concentrated in the High Flow Conditions, the non-point pollution sources are estimated as the Pollution Contribution.

TOC 기반 가축분뇨 발생 원단위 산정 (Estimation of Production Unit Loads of Livestock Manure Based on TOC)

  • 수질오염총량관리 대상물질로 총 유기탄소(Total Organic Carbon, TOC)항목의 적용을 검토 하고 있는 가운데 이 항목에 대한 가축분뇨의 발생 및 배출 원단위 확보가 시급한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 가축 분뇨 중 수질오염 기여도가 가장 높은 것으로 알려진 양돈 분뇨에 대해 TOC를 포함한 원단위를 산정하였다. 4대강 수계의 56개 농장을 대상으로 수계별, 사육방식별, 축사의 형태 및 규모별 양돈 분뇨의 농도, 분뇨 발생량(세척수 포함) 및 부하를 산정하였다. 분뇨 발생량은 한강수계와 낙동강수계에서 모돈 사육이 밀집된 소규모 농장 내 스크래퍼 형태의 축사에서 많은 것으로 나타났고, 양돈분뇨 발생량은 전체 수계 평균 7.4 L/두/d로 나타났다. 평균 발생 농도는 TOC가 16,037 mg/L, BOD가 10,559 mg/L, TN이 4,145 mg/L, TP가 503 mg/L로 조사되었으며, 이때 발생 부하는 TOC가 117.1 g/두/일, BOD가 77.1 g/두/일, TN이 34.7 g/두/일 그리고 TP가 3.67 g/두/일로 도출되었다.

원단위법에 의한 비점오염부하량 산정 시 토지피복 특성을 반영하는 고해상도 항공영상의 활용방안 (Application of the High Resolution Aerial Images to Estimate Nonpoint Pollution Loads in the Unit Load Approach)

  • In Total Water Pollutant Load Management System of Korea, unit load approach based on land register data is currently used for the estimation of non-point pollutant load. However, a problem raised that land register data could not always reflect the actual land surface coverages which determine runoff characteristics of non-point pollution sources. As a way to overcome this, we tried to establish quantitative relationships between the aerial images (0.4m resolution) which reflect actual land surface coverages and the land registration maps according to the 19 major designated land-use categories in Kyeongan watershed. Analyses showed different relationships according to the land-use categories. Only a few land-use categories including forestry, road and river showed essentially identical and some categories such as orchard, parking lot and sport utility site showed no relationships at all between image data and land register data. Except for the two cases, all the other categories showed statistically significant linear relationships between image data and land register data. The analyses indicate that using high resolution aerial maps is a better way to estimate non-point pollutant load. If the aerial maps are not available, application of the linear relationships as conversion factors of land register data to image data could be an possible option to estimate non-point pollutant loads for the specific land-use categories in Kyeongan watershed.

다변량통계분석을 이용한 수질오염총량관리 단위유역별 오염물질 배출특성 분석 - 한강수계를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Spatial Strength and Cluster Analysis at the Unit Watershed for the Management of Total Maximum Daily Loads)

  • The characteristic of the water quality and pollutant discharge was analyzed at the units watershed of the total amount management in Han-river basin, and after classified in a similar area by multivariate statistical analysis, the main trend such as the water quality trend and pollutant discharge characteristic were analyzed. As a result of this study, the density of the pollutant at the unit watershed is not necessarily identified as discharge density, and the primary management watershed and targeted substances were analyzed depending on the operating status of the environmental infrastructure in watershed and the main pollution factor and discharge path per pollutants. As a result of cluster analysis, watersheds were classified into four groups according to discharge characteristics. It will be used when selecting target area of primary management that is appropriate to the characteristics of each river and establishing efficient water quality improvement plans.

진위천 단위유역의 유량-수질 특성 및 하천 등급화 평가 (Evaluation of Discharge-Water Quality Characteristics and River Grade Classification of Jinwi River Unit Basin)

  • 본 연구는 진위천 단위유역의 수질오염총량제도에 따른 유량 및 수질 특성을 정확히 파악하고 목표 수질을 달성하기 위하여 수질 개선이 우선적으로 필요한 총량 지점을 선정하여 관리 방안을 제시하는 것이다. 진위천 단위유역의 2014년부터 2016년까지 14개 총량 지점을 대상으로 유량 및 수질 특성, 통계 분석, 유달부하량 및 유달부하 밀도 산정, 하천 등급화 등을 평가하였다. 진위천 단위유역의 유량은 평균 $22.411m^3/s$이고 황구지천의 유량이 32.8%를 차지하였으며 지류 하천에 따른 공간적으로 수질특성이 뚜렷하게 나타났다. 주성분 분석 결과 오산천과 황구지천은 유기오염 간접지표 및 계절적 요인, 성은천은 유기오염 간접지표 요인, 관리천은 계절적 요인이 수질에 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 유달부하량 산정 결과 HG-3 지점에서 6,470.4 BOD kg/day, 6,846.7 TN kg/day로 높게 나타났으며 유달부하 밀도는 HG-4 지점에서 $220.9BOD\;kg/day/km^2$, $22.4TP\;kg/day/km^2$로 높게 나타났다. 하천 등급화 방법을 이용한 진위천 단위유역의 수질 개선이 우선으로 필요한 총량 지점은 HG-3 지점으로 나타났다.

고랭지 밭 유역의 융설에 의한 수질특성 (Characteristics of Water Quality in Basin of Alpine Field during the Snowmelt Season)

  • In this study, Song-Cheon river Basin located at Dae-kwan-lyong Meyn in Kang-Won Province was monitored to analyze characteristics of non-point source pollution during the snowmelt period. The characteristics of NPS pollution such as runoff, change in water quality and pollutant loads by snowmelt were investigated from 23th February 2010 to 27th April 2010. The results showed that The climate change effects flow, turbidity and concentration of SS and COD with showing similar trend of fluctuation. Daily pollutant loads per unit area were SS 74.43 kg/ha/day, COD 1.25 kg/ha/day, BOD 0.21 kg/ha/day, TN 0.717 kg/ha/day, TP 0.141 kg/ha/day and the flow weight mean concentration has been SS 985.97 mg/L, COD 16.28 mg/L, BOD 2.67 mg/L, TN 9.302 mg/L, TP 1.834 mg/L, respectively. The flow and pollutant loads both of SS and of COD significantly increased during the snowmelt period. Because structurally loosen soil by freezing and thawing deteriorates water quality, research and management measures will be needed.

대규모 생물생산 시설의 환경 영향 연구 (A Study on the Environmental Impact of Biological Production Facilities)

  • This study was carried out to provide fundamental data for reuse of resources and prevention of environmental pollution Actual states of environmental pollution by biological production facilities were investigated. Various pollution loads and quantity of wastes from greenhouse and animal housings estimated. In greenhouse contents of investigation were wastes of plastic cover, noise of heater and fan, air pollutant of heater, and wastes of soilless culture system, etc. In animal housings, those were actual state of livestock waste treatment and reuse, pollutant mass unit discharge, noise pollution, and malodorant, etc. The main pollutants discharged from greenhouses were wastes of plastic cover, rockwool, and waste fluid of nutrient solution. Developments of waste disposal methods for plastic cover and rockwool are required. And recycle technique of nutrient solution for soilless culture should be developed and propagated. With the buildup of legal control, pollutant mass discharged from livestock wastes are, on the decrease. The other side, reuse of livestock excreta increased. Most animal housings are located near the dwelling house. Malodorant and noise from animal housings have bad effects on the rural living conditions. So developments of integrated complex for small scale livestock farms are required.

수질오염총량 단위유역별 LDC(Load Duration Curve, 부하지속곡선) 적용을 통한 수질관리 대안 모색 - 금호강 유역 대상 (Water Quality Management Measures for TMDL Unit Watershed Using Load Duration Curve)

  • This study was to develop effective water quality management measures using LDC (Load Duration Curve) curves for TMDL (Total Maximum Daily Loads) unit watershed. Using LDC curves, major factors for BOD and T-P concentration loads generation (i.e. point source or non-point source) in the case study area (Geumho river basin) were found for different hydrologic conditions. Different measures to deal with the pollutant loads were suggested to establish BMPs (Best Management Practices). It was found that the target area has urgent T-P management methods especially at moist and midrange hydrologic conditions because of point source pollutants occurred in developed areas. One example measure for this could be establishment of advanced treatment facility. This study proved that the use of LDC was a useful way to achieve TWQ (Target Water Quality) on the target watershed considered. It was also expected that the methodology applied in this study could have a wider application on the establishment of watershed water management measures.
