  • Uninterruptible Power Supply(UPS) Systems are widely used in a varietyof fields as highly reliable power sources. This paper describes the operation and performance of an UPS using sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (PWM)techniques. A newly developed UPS adopted switching element -power TR, power MOSFET, IGBT- is introduced. Experimental results showed that sinusoidal PWM techniques have good features for UPS systems.

  • A new 3-phase line-interactive UPS(Uninterruptible Power Supply) system with parallel-series active power-line conditioning capability using AC line reactor and two four-leg PWM VSCs(Voltage Source Converters) was introduced recently, In this paper, the strategy of voltage control in suggested UPS system is explained. The objective of proposed voltage controllers in parallel(shunt) and series PWM VSC is to guarantee satisfactory characteristics in steady state and transient state.

  • This paper proposes the single-phase double-conversion UPS(Uninterruptible Power Supply) with ESS(Energy Storage System). The Proposed system is operating in three modes, which are normal mode, battery mode, and bypass mode. Not only in black-out but also in peak load times, the system is operating in battery mode which is using the stored energy of the battery to manage the power effectively. The validity of proposed system could be verified by simulations and experiments.

  • There are a lot of troubles during the transfer of the source of electric power in UPS (uninterruptible power supply system) which is indispensable to the industrial equipments. They cause blackout accidents, resulting in a great economic loss. After measuring and analyzing the transient phenomena happening during the transfer, this paper presents the solution of the troubles. The solution can be used as a basic material for maintenance and it can minimize the troubles occurring in UPS and enhance the reliability of it.

  • 본 논문에서는 멀티모듈 단상 UPS(Uninterruptible Power Supply) 시스템의 예측 제어기법을 제안한다. 제안한 예측 제어기법은 단상 UPS의 수학적 모델링을 통해 설계되었으며, 전류 예측제어를 통해 모드 절환 시 동특성을 향상시켰다. 제안하는 예측 제어기법은 PSIM 시뮬레이션을 통하여 검증하였다.

  • This paper presents narrowband voltage controller for large capacity UPS system with low switching frequency. The proposed controller is repetitive controller applicable to low sampling. The controller reduces the control error for nonlinear load and improve efficiency. The proposed controller is verified through the experiment using 40kW UPS inverter.

  • This paper presents an odd harmonic repetitive controller for single-phase UPS inverters. The proposed repetitive controller achieves the low output voltage THD and reduces the steady-state error by eliminating odd harmonic distortions caused by nonlinear and unbalanced loads. The proposed control scheme is verified through experiment using a 5kW single-phase T-type inverter.

  • 최근 화석연료의 고갈과 환경에 대한 우려로 고효율 에너지 변환 연구가 진행되고 있으며, 최근 이러한 Trend에 맞춰서 국내외 적으로 전력을 효율적으로 사용하기 위해 DC 배전에 대한 연구가 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 DC배전의 추세에 맞춰, 고품질과 고효율의 에너지를 DC 부하에 공급 할 수 있는 DC UPS에 대한 연구 개발을 수행하였다.
