Degradation diagnosis of XLPE insulated URD cables was accomplished through out new method which was to be analyzed by non-electrical experiments and synthesized by degradation points. To supplement this method, It was also carried out using several electrical analyses PD-q increased generally in proportion to the applied voltage and showed no uniform patterns in relation to the thickness of insulator. Leakage current was unequal according to the thickness of insulator and its range was from 20[nA] to 50[nA]. $Tan{\delta}$ had commonly a different tendency by means of temperature and frequency and also appeared higher at the outer part rather than inner part of insulator. Breakdown voltages were measured and breakdown lifetimes were predicted appling for Weibull distribution function. As a result, breakdown lifetime in failure cables was longer up to three times as much as general cables.
Transparent conducting aluminum-doped ZnO thin films were deposited using a sol-gel process. In this study, the important deposition parameters were investigated thoroughly to determine the appropriate procedures to grow large area thin films with low resistivity and high transparency at low cost for device applications. The doping concentration of aluminum was adjusted in a range from 1 to 4 mol% by controlling the precursor concentration. The annealing temperatures for the pre-heat treatment and post-heat treatment was $250^{\circ}C$ and 400-$600^{\circ}C$, respectively. The SEM images show that Al doped and undoped ZnO films were quite uniform and compact. The XRD pattern shows that the Al doped ZnO film has poorer crystallinity than the undoped films. The crystal quality of Al doped ZnO films was improved with an increase of the annealing temperature to $600^{\circ}C$. Although the structure of the aluminum doped ZnO films did not have a preferred orientation along the (002) plane, these films had high transmittance (> 87%) in the visible region. The absorption edge was observed at approximately 370 nm, and the absorption wavelength showed a blue-shift with increasing doping concentration. The ZnO films annealed at $500^{\circ}C$ showed the lowest resistivity at 1 mol% Al doping.
The profile ring rolling process can realize various ring shapes unlike conventional rectangular cross-sectional ring products. In this paper, the defective groove in the bottom surface of L-shaped ring products was analyzed. Grooves are generated by non-uniform external forces due to profile main roll and initial blank shape. Process parameters such as the motion of dies and working temperature were determined. Mechanism of groove formation was analyzed by FE simulation on the basis of local external forces acting on the blank. Analysis results were similar to the groove actually occurring in the production line. Based on results of the analysis, two solutions were proposed for the groove. The position of the base plate supporting the blank was adjusted and edge length of the main roll was extended to suppress growth of grooves. It has been verified that groove was improved by applying two proposed methods in the shop-floor.
15 nm-Co/15 nm-Ni/P-Si(100)[Type I] and 15 nm-Ni/15 nm-Co/P-Si(100)(Type II) bilayer structures were annealed using a rapid thermal annealer for 40sec at $700/sim1100^{\circ}C$. The annealed bilayer structures developed into composite NiCo silicides and resulting changes in sheet resistance, composition and microstructure were investigated using Auger electron spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. Prepared NiCoSix films were further treated in a sequential annealing set up from $900\sim1100^{\circ}C$ with 30 minutes. The sheet resistances of NiCoSix from Type I maintained less than $7\;{\Omega}/sq$. even at the temperature of $1100{\circ}C$, while those of Type II showed about $5\;{\Omega}/sq$. with the thinner and more uniform thickness. With the additive post annealing, the sheet resistance for all the composite silicides remained small up to $900^{\circ}C$. The proposed NiCoSix films were superior over the conventional single-phased silicides and may be easily incorporated into the sub-0.1 ${\mu}m$ process.
MILD (Moderate and Intense Low-oxygen Dilution) combustion using oxygen as an oxidizer is considered as one of the most promising combustion technologies for high energy efficiency and for reducing nitrogen oxide and carbon dioxide emissions. In order to investigate the effects of nozzle angle and oxygen velocity conditions on the formation of oxygen-MILD combustion, numerical and experimental approaches were performed in this study. The numerical results showed that the recirculation ratio ($K_V$), which is an important parameter for performing MILD combustion, was increased in the main reaction zone when the nozzle angle was changed from 0 degrees to 15 degrees. Also, it was observed that a low and uniform temperature distribution was achieved at an oxygen velocity of 400 m/s. The perfectly invisible oxy-MILD flame was observed experimentally under the condition of a nozzle angle of $10^{\circ}$ and an oxygen velocity of 400 m/s. Moreover, the NOx emission limit was satisfied with NOx regulation of less than 80 ppm.
Solution-cast films of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) and polyurethane (PU) containing polymeric styryl dye up to 5 % by weight were prepared to investigate their acid-sensitivity and mechanical and thermal properties. Original red samples due to styryl dye turned out yellow very rapidly as they were exposed to acid vapor of hydrochloric acid or p-toluenesulfonic acid. According to UV/VIS spectroscopic measurements, characteristic peak intensities near 430 nm and 520 nm increased or decreased relatively with exposed amounts of acid, respectively. Both PMMA and PU samples showed uniform color distribution due to a good miscibility between polymer and dye which can be evidenced by measurements of glass transition temperature. No significant difference in acid-sensitivity was found between PU and PMMA except relative absorbance. However, dependence of their mechanical properties on dye content was somewhat different with PU or PMMA. In case of PMMA, modulus and breaking stress increased up to about 50 % with increasing dye content, whereas those of PU samples showed only slight increase. It was ascribed to whether the matrix polymer was in the glassy or rubbery state.
In synthesis of nano powders, the hard agglomeration for the synthesized powders occurred during the drying processing. In order to avoid hard agglomeration in particles the freeze drying process was used in this experiment. e fabricated the Yttira-Doped Ceria(YDC) nano powder by co-precipitation. Starting materials used in experiments were the cerium(III) nitrate and yttrium(III) nitrate solution with 야-water, which two solutions were mixed and then the precipitated hydroxides were prepared for adding sodium hydroxide. The co-precipitated powders were dried by the thermal drying at 8$0^{\circ}C$ for 24 h and by freeze drying at -4$0^{\circ}C$, 30 mtorr for 72 h. The lattice parameter and crystallite size as a function of calcination temperature was characterized by XRD analysis. The lattice parameter of YDC was decreased with addition amount of yttrium and was estimated as 5.401683 $\AA$ at $700^{\circ}C$. Crystallite size were calculated by XRD-LB method, and morphologies were confirmed with the observation of TEM and SEM. The freeze dried YDC powders had medium diameter of 17 nm with more uniform size distribution than the thermal dried YDC posers, which were mainly ascribed to the difference of agglomerates formation during drying stage.
The epi-CoSi$_{2}$ layer was formed by alloying a Co(120$\AA$)/Ti(50$\AA$) bilayer. In addition, the ultra shallow p$^{+}$n junction of which depth is about not more than 40nm at the background concentration, 10$^{18}$atoms/cm$^{3}$ could be formed by annealing (RTA-II) the ion implanted epi-silicide. When the temperature of RTA-I is as low as possible and that of RTA-II is moderate, the p$^{+}$n junction that has low leakage current and stable epi-silicide layer could be obtained. That is, when th econdition of TRA-I was 900$^{\circ}C$/20sec and that of RTA-II was 900$^{\circ}C$/10sec, the reverse leakage current was as high as 11.3$\mu$A/cm$^{2}$ at -5V. The surface of CoSi$_{2}$ appeared considerably rough. However, when the conditon of RTA-I was 800$^{\circ}C$/20sec or 700$^{\circ}C$/20sec, the leakage currents were as low as 8.3nA/cm$^{2}$ and 9.3nA/cm$^{2}$, respectively and also the surfaces appeared very uniform.

Exergetic analysis was introduced in optimization of a rotating equilateral triangular internal cooling channel with staggered square ribs to maximize the net exergy gain. The objective function was defined as the net exergy gain considering the exergy gain by heat transfer and exergy losses by friction and heat transfer process. The flow field and heat transfer in the channel were analysed using three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations under the uniform temperature condition. Shear stress transport turbulence model has been selected as a turbulence closure through the turbulence model test. Computational results for the area-averaged Nusselt number were validated compared to the experimental data. Three design variables, i.e., the angle of rib, the rib pitch-to-hydraulic diameter ratio and the rib width-to-hydraulic diameter ratio, were selected for the optimization. The optimization was performed at Reynolds number, 20,000. Twenty-two design points were selected by Latin hypercube sampling, and the values of the objective function were evaluated by the RANS analysis at these points. Through optimization, the objective function value was improved by 22.6% compared to that of the reference geometry. Effects of the Reynolds number, rotation number, and buoyancy parameter on the heat transfer performance of the optimum design were also discussed.
