Constitutive models for final stage densification of metal powder compacts with power-law creep deformation were investigated. The constitutive models were implemented into a finite element program (ABAQUS) by using user subroutine CREEP and, from FEM results, useful densification curves were obtained when hydrostatic and uniaxial stress were applied to the powder compacts at various pressures and temperatures. Because the densification behavior varied as the constitutive models, the equivalent stress surface on each constitutive equation was investigated to analyze the difference of densification behavior.
The paper provides the test results and analysis on the behavior of steel 1.7147 at different temperatures. Mechanical uniaxial tests were used to determine mechanical properties, resistance to creep and Charpy impact tests to determine impact energy. Test results are presented in the form of engineering stress-strain diagrams, creep curves as well as numerical data related to impact energy. The results show that the tensile strength has the highest value at room temperature, and the same goes for the yield strength as well as for modulus of elasticity. After room temperature both of mentioned properties decrease with temperature increasing. Some of creep curves were modeled using rheological models and analytical equation. Based on Charpy impact energy an assessment of fracture toughness was made.

An effect is made in this study to deepen understanding of small punch(SP) creep testing which has been a round for about 10 years as a substitute for the conventional uniaxial creep testing. Even though considerable numbers of SP creep test program have been performed, most of the tests were aimed at measuring creep rupture lives only. Very flew studies showed interest on the meaning of what we were really measuring during the SP creep tests. In this paper meanings of the parameters measured during the SP creep testing, such as punch load and punch displacement rate are investigated using finite element analysis. It was shown that the measured parameters must represent the stress and strain rates of the material at the annular region located at about 0.65 mm from the center of the SP specimen. The material in this location would go through constant maximum stress and strain rate during the testing. Experimental verification is also discussed.
It is difficult to analyze and predict the long-term behavior of concrete structures and members under multiaxial stresses because most of existing researches on creep of concrete were mainly concerned about uniaxial stress state. Therefore, the main objective of this paper is the investigation of creep properties of concrete under multiaxial stresses. This paper presents experimental study on creep of concrete under multiaxial compression. Twenty seven cubic specimens($20{\times}20{\times}20 cm$) for three concrete mixes were tested under uniaxial, biaxial, and triaxial stress states. Creep strains were measured in three directions of principal stresses. Poisson's ratio at the initial loading was obtained, as was Poisson's ratio due to creep stain and Poisson's ratio due to the combined creep strain and elastic strain. These Poisson's ratios were approximately equal for each concrete mix. The Poisson's ratio at the initial loading and the Poisson's ratio for the combined strain Increased slightly as the strength of the concrete increased. In addition, the volumetric creep strain and deviatoric creep strain were linearly proportional to volumetric stress and deviatoric stress, respectively.
The experimentally determined mechanical behavior of the material under the prescribed service conditions is the basis of advanced engineering optimum design. To allow experimental data on the behavior of the material considered, uniaxial stress tests were made. The aforementioned tests have enabled the determination of mechanical properties of material at different temperatures, then, the material's resistance to creep at various temperatures and stress levels, and finally, insight into the uniaxial high cyclic fatigue of the material under different applied stresses for prescribed stress ratio. Based on fatigue tests, using modified staircase method, fatigue limit was determined. All these data contributes the reliability of the use of material in mechanical structures. Data representing mechanical properties are shown in the form of engineering stress-strain diagrams; creep behavior is displayed in the form of creep curves while fatigue of the material is presented in the form of S-N (maximum applied stress versus number of the cycles to failure) curve. Material under consideration was 18CrNi8 (1.5920) steel. Ultimate tensile strength and yield strength at room temperature and at temperature of $600^{\circ}C$: [${\sigma}_{m,20/600}=(613/156)MPa$; ${\sigma}_{0.2,20/600}=(458/141)MPa$], as well as endurance (fatigue) limit at room temperature and stress ratio of R = -1 : (${\sigma}_{f,20,R=-1}=285.1MPa$).

Creep Poisson's ratio reported by previous experimental studies on multiaxial creep of concrete was controversial. The Poisson's ratio is very sensitive to small experimental error that is inevitably induced, and the sensitivity may cause the controversy. It is difficulty to find out the properties on multiaxial creep of concrete. Therefore, a new approach method to analyze the test results is needed to precisely understand the properties on multiaxial creep of concrete. In this study, microplane model is used as a new approach method in analyzing the multiaxial creep test data. The six data sets extracted from the literature are fitted from regression analysis. Double-power law as a model representing volumetric and deviatoric creep evolutions on microplane is used, and six parameters in volumetric and deviatoric compliances are determined on the assumption that the volumetric and deviatoric creep strains are linearly proportional to corresponding stresses. The optimum fits give very accurate description of the test data. The Poisson's ratio calculated from the optimum fits varies with time and does not depends on the stress states, namely, uniaxial, biaxial, and triaxial stress states. Regression analysis is also performed on the assumption that the Poisson's ratio remains constant with titre. The constant Poisson's ratio can be use in practice without serious error.

Asymmetric creep behaviors of ceramics under high temperature were investigated. Based on the Norton's power-low creep equation, multidirectional creep equations were proposed for general geometric loading conditions. The proposed equations were implemented into finite element program (ABAQUS) to simulate creep behaviors of ceramics in complicated loading conditions. The calculated results were compared with experimental data for uniaxial compression of Si-SiC C-ring and flexure of Si-SiC and $Al_2O_3$ in the literature. The finite element results agreed well with experimental data when the principal stresses are smaller than the threshold stress for creep damage. A good agreement was also obtained for damage zone in Si-SiC bending creep specimen compared with experimental data.

Various types of ice distribution under low temperature greatly influence the environment of the Arctic and Antarctic Oceans. To understand fundamentals of ice properties such as Polar glaciers, icebergs and sea ice, this study focuses on the material behaviors and failure mechanisms of polycrystalline ice. Utilizing the continuum damage theory, a three-dimensional constitutive model to describe creep deformation characteristics in the glacial flow is developed in consideration of micro-cracking as the major physical process of ice deformation. The numerical model is compared with the published experimental data especially in uniaxial constant stress creep tests. The model can simulate primary and secondary creeps as well as tertiary creep characteristics due to the microcrack accumulation.

In this study, the changes of the expansion and strength according to the temperature of the emergency repairing expansion material were examined by cup foaming test and uniaxial compressive strength test, and the accelerated compression creep test was carried out to confirm the long term stability. Ramp & Hold test and accelerated compressive creep test were performed to evaluate the creep performance. The short - term creep test was used to determine the initial creep strain of the expanding material. The isothermal method using time - To evaluate the long - term compressive creep performance.
The present paper concerns the macroscopic overall description of rheologic properties for steel wire and synthetic fibre cables under variable loading actions according to non-linear creep and/or relaxation theory. The general constitutive equations of non-linear creep and/or relaxation of tension elements - cables under one-step and the variable stress or strain inputs using the product and two types of additive approximations of the kernel functions are presented in the paper. The derived non-linear constitutive equations describe a non-linear rheologic behaviour of the cables for a variable stress or strain history using the kernel functions determined only by one-step - constant creep or relaxation tests. The developed constitutive equations enable to simulate and to predict in a general way non-linear rheologic behaviour of the cables under an arbitrary loading or straining history. The derived constitutive equations can be used for the various tension structural elements with the non-linear rheologic properties under uniaxial variable stressing or straining.
