There is hare and tortoise racing algorithm(HTA) for single-source(SS) singly linked list(SLL) with O(n) time complexity. But the fast method is unknown for general graph with multi-source, multi-destination, and multi-branch(MSMDMB). This paper suggests linear time cycle detection algorithm for given undirected and digraph with MSMDMB. The proposed method reduced the given graph G contained with unnecessary vertices(or nodes) to cycle into reduced graph G' with only necessary vertices(or nodes) to cycle based on the condition of cycle formation. For the reduced graph G', we can be find the cycle set C and cycle length λ using linear search within linear time. As a result of experiment data, the proposed algorithm can be obtained the cycle for whole data.
The intersection graph of a group G is an undirected graph without loops and multiple edges defined as follows: the vertex set is the set of all proper non-trivial subgroups of G, and there is an edge between two distinct vertices H and K if and only if $H{\cap}K{\neq}1$ where 1 denotes the trivial subgroup of G. In this paper we characterize all finite groups whose intersection graphs are planar. Our methods are elementary. Among the graphs similar to the intersection graphs, we may count the subgroup lattice and the subgroup graph of a group, each of whose planarity was already considered before in [2, 10, 11, 12].
Let G be a simple undirected graph. A planar graph known as a Halin graph(HG) is characterised by having three connected and pendent vertices of a tree that are connected by an outer cycle. A subset S of V is said to be a dominating set of the graph G if each vertex u that is part of V is dominated by at least one element v that is a part of S. The domination number of a graph is denoted by the γ(G), and it corresponds to the minimum size of a dominating set. A dominating set S is called a secure dominating set if for each v ∈ V\S there exists u ∈ S such that v is adjacent to u and S1 = (S\{v}) ∪ {u} is a dominating set. The minimum cardinality of a secure dominating set of G is equal to the secure domination number γs(G). In this article we found the secure domination number of Halin graph(HG) with perfet k-ary tree and also we determined secure domination of rooted product of special trees.
The undirected Steiner tree problem in graphs is known to be NP-hard. The objective of this problem is to find a shortest tree containing a subset of nodes, called terminal nodes. This paper proposes a method based on a two-step procedure to solve this problem efficiently. In the first step. graph reduction rules eliminate useless nodes and edges which do not contribute to make an optimal solution. In the second step, a max-min ant colony optimization combined with Prim's algorithm is developed to solve the reduced problem. The proposed algorithm is tested in the sets of standard test problems. The results show that the algorithm efficiently presents very correct solutions to the benchmark problems.

For an undirected graph G=(V, E), the Rural Postman Problem (RPP) is a problem that finds a minimum cost tour that must pass edges in E'($\subseteq$ E) at least once. RPP, such as Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP), is known as an NP. Complete problem. In the previous study of RPP, he structure of the chromosome is constructed by E' and the direction of the edge. Hence, the larger the size of IE' I is, the larger the size of the chromosome and the size of the solution space are. In this paper, we transform the RPP into a Hamiltonian graph and use a genetic algorithm to solve the transformed problem using restructured chromosomes. In the simulations, we analyze our method and the previous study. From the simulation results, it is found that the results of the proposed method is better than those of the previous method and the proposed method also obtains the near optimal solution in earlier generations than the previous study.

We consider the problem of assigning tasks to homogeneous nodes in the distributed system, so as to minimize the amount of communication, while balancing the processors' loads. This issue can be posed as the graph partitioning problem. Given an undirected graph G=(nodes, edges), where nodes represent task modules and edges represent communication, the goal is to divide n, the number of processors, as to balance the processors' loads, while minimizing the capacity of edges cut. Since these two optimization criteria conflict each other, one has to make a compromise between them according to the given task type. We propose a new cost function to evaluate static task assignments and a heuristic algorithm to solve the transformed problem, explicitly describing the tradeoff between the two goals. Simulation results show that our approach outperforms an existing representative approach for a variety of task and processing systems.
Spectral clustering is a powerful tool for exploratory data analysis. Many existing spectral clustering algorithms typically measure the similarity by using a Gaussian kernel function or an undirected k-nearest neighbor (kNN) graph, which cannot reveal the real clusters when the data are not well separated. In this paper, to improve the spectral clustering, we consider a robust similarity measure based on the shared nearest neighbors in a directed kNN graph. We propose two novel algorithms for spectral clustering: one based on the number of shared nearest neighbors, and one based on their closeness. The proposed algorithms are able to explore the underlying similarity relationships between data points, and are robust to datasets that are not well separated. Moreover, the proposed algorithms have only one parameter, k. We evaluated the proposed algorithms using synthetic and real-world datasets. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithms not only achieve a good level of performance, they also outperform the traditional spectral clustering algorithms.
Let G = (V, E) be a simple undirected graph. The Minimum Vertex Cover (MVC) problem is to find a minimum subset C of V such that for every edge, at least one of its endpoints should be included in C. Like many other graph theoretic problems this problem is also known to be NP-hard. In this paper, we propose a genetic algorithm called LeafGA for MVC problem and show the performance of the proposed algorithm by applying it to several published benchmark graphs.

With the increase of motor vehicles and tourism demand, some traffic problems gradually appear, such as traffic congestion, safety accidents and insufficient allocation of traffic resources. Facing these challenges, a model of Spatio-Temporal Dilated Convolutional Network (STDGCN) is proposed for assistance of extracting highly nonlinear and complex characteristics to accurately predict the future traffic flow. In particular, we model the traffic as undirected graphs, on which graph convolutions are built to extract spatial feature informations. Furthermore, a dilated convolution is deployed into graph convolution for capturing multi-scale contextual messages. The proposed STDGCN integrates the dilated convolution into the graph convolution, which realizes the extraction of the spatial and temporal characteristics of traffic flow data, as well as features of road occupancy. To observe the performance of the proposed model, we compare with it with four rivals. We also employ four indicators for evaluation. The experimental results show STDGCN's effectiveness. The prediction accuracy is improved by 17% in comparison with the traditional prediction methods on various real-world traffic datasets.

This paper suggests an algorithm that obtains Directed Graph Minimum Spanning Tree (DMST), using Prim MST algorithm which is Minimum Spanning Tree (MST) of undirected graph. At first, I suggested the Prim DMST algorithm that chooses Minimum Weight Arc(MWA) from out-going nodes from each node, considering differences between undirected graph and directed graph. Next, I proved a disadvantage of Prim DMST algorithm and Chu-Liu/Edmonds DMST (typical representative DMST) of not being able to find DMST, applying them to 3 real graphs. Last, as an algorithm that can always find DMST, an advanced Prim DMST is suggested. The Prim DMST algorithm uses a method of choosing MWA among out-going arcs of each node. On the other hand, the advanced Prim DMST algorithm uses a method of choosing a coinciding arc from the out-going and in-going arcs of each node. And if there is no coinciding arc, it chooses MWA from the out-going arcs from each node. Applying the suggested algorithm to 17 different graphs, it succeeded in finding the same DMST as that found by Chu-Liu/Edmonds DMST algorithm. Also, it does not require such a complicated calculation as that of Chu-Liu/Edmonds DMST algorithm to delete the cycle, and it takes less time for process than Prim DMST algorithm.
