A Study on the Accuracy Verification Criteria in Underground Facilities Surveying Using GPR (지하시설물 측량에 있어서 GPR 탐사방법의 정확도 검증 기준에 관한 연구)

  • In order to manage the underground spatial information in systematic and effective way, production of an integration underground spatial information map is essential process. The government has been making efforts to expand manage the production of 3D underground spatial integrated map. In recent the GPR is actively used for exploring underground facilities in non-exploring area and sinkhole. For achieving the research objectives presenting the accuracy of verification standard in underground spatial information surveying using GPR, the related legislation standard, the experiment resutls and international criteria have been analyzed. From this research it is found that the accuracy standard has been made by the related academic society(USA) and association(UK) in foreign counties. It is recommended that indicate the verification standard with number and percent together considering the characteristics of GPR.

  • Power demand has continuously increased with technological and economical development. The load density is also growing in the center of downtown area. In particular, underground facilities have been increased on the purpose of the prevention of urban disasters and pedestrian environment improvement. Based on this situation, the underground space in urban surroundings has gradually decreased because of the limited space. The ampacity of buried cables is affected by various factors such as cable size, soil thermal resistance, burial depth and filling material. The thermal capacity of the facilities is determined by the absorb heat surrounding the cable and the soil. The maximum operating temperature of cable is the highest temperature when the insulator of cable is not damaged in the case of high enough temperature. In this paper, the most effective cabling configuration is suggested using the duct array adjustment. It was also considered to increase the number of cable line. This underground distribution system was simulated by using ETAP(Electrical Transient Analysis Program).

  • The improvement of perspectives on dark and limited underground space could be an important factor in successful underground space development. The Current trend in the apartment underground parking garages requires not only quantitatively energy efficient design and operation but also qualitative improvement of the space. For this, we need to consider two factors: Firstly, to understand the characteristics of the lamps; Secondly, to improve the uniformity ratio of illuminance. In a winter season, a way to keep the uniformity and a method not to lower the indoor illuminance level by cold ambient air should be established. Therefore, a change in interval and arrangement of the lighting fixtures is required. Also, in their operations, the current time-fixed control method needs to be changed into the control which method considers the use pattern.

  • The underground living spaces have become one of the major environment of this decade in urban area. This study was carried out to examine contamination level for purpose of preservation of the pleasant underground environment. Three subway stations and three underground shopping centers in Seoul and two underground shopping centers in Busan were selected and surveyed by measuring gaseous pollutants $(SO_2,\; NO_2,\;CO,\;HC,\; HCHO,\;CO_2)$, dust, airborne microbes, and the other air condtions (temperature, humidity, air pressure, air flow, kata cooling power). These examined data were compared with four kinds of standard (building sanitation management, room air quality standards, occupational safety and health standards, ventilation equipment) as environmental hygiene.

  • Urban railway can be divided into ground and underground sections. In particular, the center of the metropolitan has been built mostly underground stations and tunnels. Underground section is difficult to measure the position because GPS signal is unavailable, so it is necessary to apply the indoor positioning technology. For this purpose, we analyzed the positioning technologies which are based on Wi-Fi and mobile base stations. The positing technology for smart phone which uses mobile base station' information is developed in the underground area of urban railway where the core technique is to implement base station ID into the positing technology by considering hand-off point.

Position estimation of underground acoustic source origin using a passive SONAR system (수동형 SONAR 시스템을 사용한 지하 진원지의 추정)

  • The aim of the work described in this paper is to develop a complex underground acoustic system which detects and localizes the origin of an underground hammering sound using an array of hydrophones located about loom underground. Three different methods for the sound localization will be presented, a time-delay method, a power-attenuation method and a hybrid method. In the time-delay method, the cross correlation of the signals received from the array of sensors is used to calculate the time delays between those signals. In the power-attenuation method, the powers of the received signals provide a measure of the distances of the source from the sensors. In the hybrid method, both informations of time-delays and power-ratios are coupled together to produce better performance of position estimation. A new acoustic imaging technique has been developed for improving the hybrid method. This new acoustic imaging method shows the multi-dimensional distribution of the normalized cost function, so as to indicate the trend of the minimizing direction toward the source location. For each method the sound localization is carried out in three dimensions underground. The distance between the true and estimated origins of the source is 28m for a search area of radius 250m.

Energy Saving Potentials of Ventilation Controls Based on Real-time Vehicle Detection in Underground Parking Facilities

  • The main topic of this paper is to show a possibility of indoor air quality enhancement and the fan energy savings in underground parking facilities by applying the demand-controlled ventilation (DCV) strategy based on the real-time variation of the traffic load. The established ventilation rate is estimated by considering the passing distance, CO emission rate, idling time of a vehicle, and the floor area of the parking facility. However, they are hard to be integrated into the real-time DCV control. As a solution to this problem, the minimum ventilation rate per a single vehicle is derived in this research based on the actual ventilation data acquired from several existing underground parking facilities. And then its applicability to the DCV based on the real-time variation of the traffic load is verified by simulating the real-time carbon monoxide concentration variation. The energy saving potentials of the proposed DCV strategy is also checked by comparing it with those for the current underground parking facility ventilation systems found in the open literature.

A Study on SVL Transient Characteristics by Switching Overvoltage at Single Point Bonding Section in Underground Transmission Cables (개폐과전압 발생시 지중송전선로 편단접지 구간에서 SVL에 미치는 과도특성에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes sheath voltage limiter(SVL) transient characteristics by switching overvoltage considering single point bonding in underground transmission cables. The crossbonding system is generally used for grounding methods of underground transmission system. However, the single point bonding system is used in selective area which is difficult to consist of crossbonding major section. The sheath voltage limiters are connected between joints in the single point bonding. Specially, the high overvoltage might be generated in that section as well as the aging of sheath voltage limiter might be progressed by various electrical stress including lightning overvoltage, switching overvoltage and power frequency overvoltage. Therefore, in this paper, the switching overvoltage characteristics in underground cables are firstly analysed using EMTP simulation. Then, the switching overvoltage of sheath voltage limiter is also studied in single point bonding. Finally, the reduction method of sheath voltage limiter switching overvoltage is proposed by various simulation studies including circuit breaker operating order.

A Lighting Control System of Underground Parking Lot Based on Ubiquitous Sensor Networks (유비쿼터스 센서 네트워크 기반 지하주차장 조명제어시스템)

  • Recently, the problem of global warming has issued seriously, so Green IT(Information Technology) using RFID/USN is concerned in order to solve environmental problems. In this paper, we implemented that public area like an underground parking lot could reduce unnecessary energy consumption used by lighting control system based on Ubiquitous Sensor Networks. The lighting control system for underground parking lot is comprised of intersection nodes for watching cars enter and leave, and light node for controlling light. It applies the routing protocol based on hierarchical cluster, hierarchical addressing method, and probability filtering method for the specific place like an underground parking lot. The result after experiments shows that the lighting control system could decrease electrical energy consumption to around 61.7%.
