A Study on the Interrelationship Between the Unconscious and Digital Images

  • The subject collects information and constructs the outside world mainly through the sense of sight, though he cannot help but always see things from the viewpoint of the self-aware ego. While we are able to access the unconscious of which the latent desire is reflected in involuntary images and dream images, the substance of desire cannot be easily accessed due to the censorship of the ego and the super-ego, which makes images of the unconscious nonlinear, and allows us to pursue fantasies for pleasure. The original human desire to record and express visual objects has come true with technological fulfillments, and furthermore, digital technology has realized visual pleasure and desire, through simulation. The images that the unconscious produces and the images that digital technology produces are a visualization of objects by the subject's desire, and the subject realizes his pleasure through a visual fantasy. This study, based on the mechanism of the unconscious and the formal stamps of digital images, explores the interrelationship between the unconscious and digital images, both of which seek pleasure and desire.

  • This paper aimed at analyzing the psychology of the people who tunes the car from the point of view of the theory of unconscious desire. The theory of unconscious desire to approach human psychology has two features. One point is that it can be applied only to human beings in the sense that animals does not have the unconscious. The other is that we can categorize some types of underlying unconscious desire instead of seeing human desire as the sundry desires according to the specific target. In this paper, we looked at the characteristics of each type of data obtained through interviews for people to tune the car from the point of view of the theory of unconscious desire.

  • 들뢰즈, 가타리는 "안티-오이디푸스"에서 프로이트, 라캉의 욕망론을 결핍으로서의 욕망인 관념론적 환상이라고 비판하면서 유물론적 욕망론의 가능성을 모색한다. 이들은 프로이트, 라캉이 욕망을 오이디푸스 가족 모델에 가두고, 욕망의 리비도의 흐름을 차단했다고 비판한다. 이 글은 욕망에 대한 정신분석 계열과 분열분석 계열의 해석이 상이한 이유를 이들의 주요 개념 가운데, '억압'과 '무의식'에 대한 해석의 차이에서 찾는다. 그에 따라 우선 프로이트, 라캉의 억압의 양상을 살피고, 이들이 보지 못한 '심리적 억압'과 '사회적 억압'의 구별의 유의미를 들뢰즈, 가타리의 해석에 따라 추적한다. 그 다음, 프로이트, 라캉은 무의식을 정신 활동의 방어 기제에 의해 축출된 영역이나, 언어처럼 구조화된 무의식의 차원으로 이해한다. 이에 반해 들뢰즈, 가타리는 이들의 무의식에 대한 해석과 전혀 다르게 접근한다. 이 글은 이들의 무의식에 대한 다양하고도 새로운 해석 가운데, 특히 고아인 무의식, 생산적 무의식, 분자적 무의식을 집중해서 분석한다. 결론적으로 무의식에 대한 새로운 해석에 따라 욕망과 억압의 문제도 전혀 다르게 볼 수 있음을 보이고자 한다. 이들의 분열분석이 과연 현실에서 어떻게 적용 가능한지에 대한 실천적 적용 가능성을 탐색해 보고자 한다.

자크 라캉 무의식이론의 관점에서 본 현대 에로티시즘 패션의 미적 정체성 연구 -주이상스와 응시론을 중심으로- (A Study on the Aesthetic Identity of Modern Eroticism Fashion from the Perspective of Jacques Lacan's Unconscious Theory -Focusing on Jouissance & Gaze Theory-)

  • The purpose of this study is to determine the aesthetic identity of modern eroticism fashion in which the energy of desire is maximized through the 'jouissance' and 'gaze' of the unconscious theory of Jacques Lacan. The research method derived aesthetic identity after examining jouissance and gaze deeply related to eroticism in Lacan's theory of the unconscious by analyzing data of domestic and foreign monographs and prior research. Case analysis was limited to 2000 S/S to 2022 F/W. Based on prior research, it was analyzed mainly on clothing with eroticism characteristics of 'exposure, close contact, see-through, the conversion of underclothes into outer garments'. Results of the study are as follows. First, eroticism, which can be linked to Lacan's type of 'jouissance' with multiple meanings as the generating point of eroticism, has manifested itself in voyeuristic eroticism, fatale eroticism, masochistic eroticism, surplus eroticism, and sacred eroticism. Second, as eyes of unconscious desire, visual expression characteristics of 'gaze' appeared as anamorphosis, trompe l'oeil, and dépaysement. The identity of eroticism derived from Lacan's jouissance and the perspective of the desire gaze was divided into voyeuristic desire to gaze, fatal desire to gaze, masochistic desire to gaze, surplus desire to gaze, and sacred desire to gaze. Results of this study will expand theoretical horizons of eroticist fashion with a new interpretation of eroticism by combining Lacan's desire as a repressed and alienated subject within the human unconscious with the art that expands it.

아동을 위한 디지털미디어 리터러시 성장성 연구: 라캉의 욕망이론을 중심으로 (A Study on Digital Media Literacy Growth Possibility for Children: Focusing on Lacan's Desire Theory)

  • In recent trends, the first age of digital device usage has been significantly getting low and the using frequencies for younger generation have been gradually increasing. Also, while there were more negative opinions of this trend in the past, the new idea is changing to more needs of training and approaches for children's sound using guidelines for digital device. In fact, people believe the new generation will face more advanced future, called the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The purpose of the paper is first to explain about the Jacques Lacan's concept of desire theory in order to understand the human's unconscious level through His desire theory. Second, the paper identifies how this unconscious level is affected to ethical aspects of new generations whose unconscious level are frequently and early exposed to digital media. Lastly, the paper will present the necessity of digital literacy education as well as future direction. Furthermore, the paper review for what is the ethics and positive guidelines of digital media for children who will become the future citizens in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

  • We have attached importance to the values of spirit and immateriality. As the age of modernism of rationality ended, human being began to emphasize spiritual and immaterial while accepting multiplicity and diversification in the whole areas of society and culture. Hence interests have increased in another side of human spirit that was oppressed by rational, analytic, reasonable and scientific thinking, which has expanded the inner world of human being to the world of the unconscious. According to these paradigm changes, steady efforts to improve our lives better both materially and spiritually have been made in the areas of art and design. Therefore, the current study aims to examine the meaning of object expressed in space from the viewpoint of the unconscious, focusing on works of designer Philippe Starck after 2000 in which unique, preferential and liking characteristics are expressed well. Philippe Starck is a designer who connects design with our daily lives and formalizes it with creative ideas. Also the study theoretically explored the theory of the unconscious, a concept of Freudianism, based on 'Meaning of Dreams' of Freud, and explained the expressional characteristics and meaning of unconscious desire through his works by putting object in Philippe Starck's space. It aims to grope for the meaning of object as another possibility that can function as a spatial ruling element by analyzing object through expanding the extent of correlation and interpretation between human containing spiritual things and object which is the recognition subject in space of the present time, not a mere concept as substance like in the past, and expression of Starck's unconscious desire based on unconscious theory.

  • 본 연구는 영화 '다우더'에 나타난 모녀 갈등을 분석하고, 통합적 관점에서 치료적 상담기법을 제안하고 있다. 융복합 심층심리학적 방법을 사용하여 무의식적 욕망이론에 의거하여 영화의 반복 관찰을 통해서 주인공의 무의식적 갈등을 파악하였다. 연구결과 무의식적 수준에서 참자기와 거짓자기, 자아이상과 초자아, 개별성과 의존성이 서로 다투고 있음을 알게 되었다. 치료적 상담을 위해서 상담초기에 가장 필요한 것은 내담자의 진정성 경험이다. 그리고 올바른 삶의 가치관을 확립한 상담가로서 내담자의 자아이상을 자극하고 참자기 욕동을 강화해야 한다. 또한 중간현상으로서의 종교 활동의 위험성을 알고 있어야 한다. 종결시점에서 상담가는 내담자의 웰빙(well-being)에 대한 희망을 가지고 지속적으로 변화 노력을 할 것을 기대한다.

<기생충>에 나타난 자크 라캉의 욕망 (A Study on Lacan's Desire in <Parasite>)

  • 자크 라캉(Jacques Lacan)에 따르면, 욕망은 원초적인 부분의 결여(Lack)에서 비롯되며, 이는 인간이 지속적으로 쾌락과 만족을 추구하게 만드는 일종의 원동력이다. 주체(Subject)와 인류의 욕망은 매우 복잡한 심리적 현상이기에 욕망의 완전히 실현은 불가능하다. 연구자는 자크 라캉의 욕망 이론을 통해 영화 속 주체가 추구하는 이상, 좌절, 성장의 과정에서 형성되는 균형을 분석하고자 한다. 본 논문, "연구자는 영화 <기생충>을 아메데오 지오르지(Amedeo Giorgi)의 현상학적 방법으로 분석"에 대한 연구임. 이를 통해 인류 욕망의 본질을 드러냄으로써, 영화의창작에 대한 시사점과 이론적 배경을 제공하고자 하였다.

Korean Genderless Fashion Consumers' Self-image and Identification

  • The "genderless fashion" style adopted by 20 to 30-year-olds in Korea cannot be ignored in the consumer fashion code. This study investigated self-images of Korean genderless fashion consumers through in-depth interviews. Interview analyses confirmed that Korean genderless fashion consumers express their self-image through clothing. As the theoretical framework, this study used Lacan's concept of desire to classify the types of self-image consumers want to express. The results are classified into three subject types: those who pursue self-fulfillment, those who pursue fulfillment from others, and those who pursue endless fulfillment through a self-image. This reflects various factors and the subjects' desires. Further, a subject's desire to present a specific self-image was an important factor in understanding the genderless fashion style. The study results revealed that modern fashion is an "unconscious" field of self-expression that crucially reflects individual desires. The study also contributes to the understanding of the concept of self-image at large.

융(Jung)의 아니마(Anima) 원형에 따른 남성 뷰티스타일 연구 - 남성 화장품 광고를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Characteristics of Male Beauty Style according to the Anima Archetype of Jungian Theory - Focusing on Men's Cosmetic Advertisements -)

  • The traditional masculinity has been gradually diversified towards the 21th century due to a new social environment. Men embrace his feminine side with heightened aesthetic sense using cosmetic products for better skin, hair, and nails. This diversification of male image and his beauty style proves the addition of feminity to masculinity. C. G. Jung felt that we are all really bisexual in nature. The anima is the female aspect present in the collective unconscious of men and it is the archetype through which we communicate with the collective unconscious generally, and it is important to get into touch with it for self-realization. This study analyzes subconscious desire based on the anima archetype in the collective unconscious of men through the diversity of the gender identity shown in men's cosmetic advertisements, and therefore it aim to help developing a marketing strategy of male beauty industry in the future. For this purpose, it conducted an empirical analysis of male beauty style in cosmetic advertisements through the Jungian anima theory. The conclusion of this study is as follows: First, gender identity represented in cosmetic advertisements was typified as Retrosexual, Ubersexual, Metrosexual, Cross sexual. Second, the anima archetype stimulates feminity in male beauty style. Cross sexual type has the highest feminine tendency. Third, range of utilization of cosmetic products is articulated with the diverse gender identity. Cross sexual type is most similar to the female beauty style. This feminization of male beauty style is the external expression of collective unconscious and affords human being to reach self-realization.
