The purpose of this study is to find out the causes of turnover, the causes of stay, and the effects of turnover of college graduates with early careers, based on the concept of job embeddedness and their stances. For this study, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 20 college graduates with early careers and the interviews were analyzed with phenomenological analytic research. The result of the study shows that the cause of turnover intention includes fit and link which are components of job embeddedness. More specifically, turnover intention of the interviewee is affected by fit which includes whether their ability and talent are used properly and whether their vision and culture fit well those of their organization, also affected by link which includes the formal or informal mutual relationship with coworkers and superiors. Stay intention, on the other hand, includes fit which contains satisfaction about work and organization, long-term career management. Stay intention also includes sacrifice which are anxiety about uncertain future and satisfaction about being employed. As an aspect of the effect of turnover, the satisfaction and fulfillment about work which are experienced after turnover by the interviewees and the satisfaction about coworkers and the team in which the interviewees are included offset the negative effect of turnover. The result also shows that organization should consider their workers' satisfaction about the first work, their amicable relationship, and turnover cost, to improve working and living standard of colleges graduates with early careers and to prevent them from turnover.
Today, changes in the environments surrounding companies are so uncertain that corporate entrepreneurship should be activated to enhance the competitiveness of firms and to improve their profitability. In particular, The practice of entrepreneurship by small and medium sized enterprises (hereafter SMEs) is suggested as an important factor for the enhancement of competitiveness of firms. In this context, this study examined the effects of the organizational climates on the entrepreneurship activities of SMEs in Korea and China. The data obtained from 300 SMEs in Korea and China through questionnaire surveys were analyzed. The results demonstrate that the organizational climates have significant positive effects on SMEs in the countries belonging to emerging markets such as Korea and China. However, the practice of corporate entrepreneurship could be manifested in diverse forms, such as innovation or strategic renewal, and the effects of organizational climates were shown to sightly different effects on the corporate entrepreneurship activities. In addition, SMEs in Korea and China, which belong to common cultural areas, did not show any statistically significant difference in organizational climates in general. Furthermore, the effects of these factors did not show significant differences in general. However, SMEs in Korea with more flexible organizational structures and higher job autonomy were shown to be more advantageous in practicing corporate entrepreneurship than those in China. The results of the study provide meaningful implications for SMEs in Korea in terms of the efforts that should be made to enhance their competitiveness, implement innovation, and achieve comparative advantages over China.
The Autonomous ships are equipped with a function to judge and navigate the sea conditions on their own, so the job of the ship officer who operates it changes. The educational curriculum to nurture ship officer with the ability to operate and manage autonomous ships must also be changed. This study aimed to develop the curriculum for training autonomous ship officer by using the Delphi survey method suitable for predicting the uncertain future. Among the current 61 subjects for training ship officer identified in the Delphi survey, 32 subjects with high importance should be maintained in the training for autonomous ship officer, and subjects with low importance should be abolished or integrated into other subjects. These subjects were collectively referred to as 'general courses'. The expert panel of the Delphi survey suggested 42 items as new subjects, with 18 items of 'high', 14 items of 'middle', and 10 items of 'low'. Through in-depth analysis of these items by experts, 27 subjects were adjusted and three courses were proposed : 1)'Basic course(10 courses)' for developing basic capabilities such as basic theories for understanding advanced technology and information applied to autonomous ships, 2)'Job course(10 courses)' for practical competency directly related to autonomous ship operation, 3)'Intensive course(7 subjects)' for fostering land remote operators of autonomous ships. Since the introduction and spread of autonomous ships will progress rapidly, research to develop and supplement autonomous ship pilot training courses should be continued by reflecting the level of autonomous navigation of autonomous ships.
In the seismic retrofitting of harbor breakwaters in Korea, the recovery rate is often uncertain due to site conditions and site conditions, and problems continue to arise. Therefore, in this study, we analyzed the recovery rate and compressive strength of the improved material through drilling survey by grouting confirmation method after applying low-fluidity mortar injection method, and furthermore, we checked the elastic modulus by downhole test and tomography to confirm the reinforcement effect of soft ground after ground improvement. The experimental results showed that the average shear wave velocity of the ground increased from 229 m/s to 288 m/s in BH-1 and BH-3 boreholes to a depth of 28.0 m, and the average shear wave velocity of the ground to a depth of 30.0 m tended to increase from 224 m/s to 282 m/s in the downhole test. This is believed to be a result of the increased stiffness of the ground after reinforcement. The results of the tomographic survey showed that the Vs of the soft ground of the sample at Site 1 increased from 113 m/s to 214 m/s, and the Vs of the sample at Site 2 increased from 120 m/s to 224 m/s. This shows that the stiffness of the ground after seismic reinforcement is reinforced with hard soil, as the Vs value satisfies 180 m/s to 360 m/s in the classification of rock quality according to shear wave velocity.
Today, as AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology develops and its practicality increases, it is widely used in various application fields in real life. At this time, the AI model is basically learned based on various statistical properties of the learning data and then distributed to the system, but unexpected changes in the data in a rapidly changing data situation cause a decrease in the model's performance. In particular, as it becomes important to find drift signals of deployed models in order to respond to new and unknown attacks that are constantly created in the security field, the need for lifecycle management of the entire model is gradually emerging. In general, it can be detected through performance changes in the model's accuracy and error rate (loss), but there are limitations in the usage environment in that an actual label for the model prediction result is required, and the detection of the point where the actual drift occurs is uncertain. there is. This is because the model's error rate is greatly influenced by various external environmental factors, model selection and parameter settings, and new input data, so it is necessary to precisely determine when actual drift in the data occurs based only on the corresponding value. There are limits to this. Therefore, this paper proposes a method to detect when actual drift occurs through an Anomaly analysis technique based on XAI (eXplainable Artificial Intelligence). As a result of testing a classification model that detects DGA (Domain Generation Algorithm), anomaly scores were extracted through the SHAP(Shapley Additive exPlanations) Value of the data after distribution, and as a result, it was confirmed that efficient drift point detection was possible.
Objective: It is uncertain why a b-value range of 1500-2000 s/mm2 is optimal. This study was aimed at qualitatively and quantitatively analyzing the optimal b-value range of synthetic diffusion-weighted imaging (sDWI) for evaluating prostatic index lesions. Materials and Methods: This retrospective study included 92 patients who underwent DWI and targeted biopsy for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-suggested index lesions. We generated sDWI at a b-value range of 1000-3000 s/mm2 using dedicated software and true DWI data at b-values of 0, 100, and 1000 s/mm2. We hypothesized that lesion conspicuity would be best when the background (i.e., MRI-suggested benign prostatic [bP] and periprostatic [pP] regions) signal intensity (SI) is suppressed and becomes homogeneous. To prove this hypothesis, we performed both qualitative and quantitative analyses. For qualitative analysis, two independent readers analyzed the b-value showing the best visual conspicuity of an MRI-suggested index lesion. For quantitative analysis, the readers assessed the b-value showing the same bP and pP region SI. The 95% confidence interval (CI) or interquartile range of qualitatively and quantitatively selected optimal b-values was assessed, and the mean difference between qualitatively and quantitatively selected b-values was investigated. Results: The 95% CIs of optimal b-values from qualitative and quantitative analyses were 1761-1805 s/mm2 and 1640-1771 s/mm2 (median, 1790 s/mm2 vs. 1705 s/mm2; p = 0.003) for reader 1, and 1835-1895 s/mm2 and 1705-1841 s/mm2 (median, 1872 s/mm2 vs. 1763 s/mm2; p = 0.022) for reader 2, respectively. Interquartile ranges of qualitatively and quantitatively selected optimal b-values were 1735-1873 s/mm2 and 1573-1867 s/mm2 for reader 1, and 1775-1945 s/mm2 and 1591-1955 s/mm2 for reader 2, respectively. Bland-Altman plots consistently demonstrated a mean difference of less than 100 s/mm2 between qualitatively and quantitatively selected optimal b-values. Conclusion: b-value range showing a homogeneous background signal may be optimal for evaluating prostatic index lesions on sDWI. Our qualitative and quantitative data consistently recommend b-values of 1500-2000 s/mm2.

The purpose of this study is to search for the factors that influence students' understanding of the nature of science through the experience of the cognitive processes of authentic open inquiries. The freshmen of a science high school practiced authentic open inquiries reflecting epistemological characteristics of authentic science. The case study was conducted with four focus students who were successful or unsuccessful at learning the nature of science during the authentic open inquiry activity. Questions that the focus students asked during the inquiries as well as students' answers to pre- and post-VNOS (C type) were analysed, and then elaborated in the semi-structured interview. The findings suggest that open inquiry activities provide the inquiry contexts that help science high school students to understand the nature of science, and that the characteristics of students' cognition influence the understanding of the nature of science. For instance, designing experiments with their own research questions had an influence on the students' understanding about the scientific methods and the diversity of research types, and drawing conclusions from their own data made students experience scientific reasoning. In addition, the experience of collecting anomalous data helped students to understand the role of inferences in generating scientific knowledge and the creative nature of scientific knowledge. In this inquiry context, the reflective thinking that came from proactive discussion among students, made students think about the validity of the designing experiments and interpreting data, and helped them to understand the uncertain nature of reasoning and the diverse nature of scientific methods. Moreover, divergent thinking linked to analogical thinking helped students to understand the creative nature of science.
Underground buried cables can cause disconnections during the construction of roads and other subterranean structures due to uncertain designs. This paper describes experiments conducted to detect and verify the locations of these cables utilizing ground penetrating radar (GPR). The experiments were carried out at an active road construction site, where cable burial was anticipated. The GPR used operated within a frequency range of 400 MHz to 900 MHz to probe underground structures. The exploration methodology consisted of an initial GPR test to survey the entire area, followed by a secondary test informed by the results of the initial experiment, incorporating a diverse and increased number of lines. The findings confirmed the hyperbolic reflection patterns of cables at consistent locations along the same lines. These patterns were then compared to existing designs to corroborate the presence of cables at the identified locations. This research establishes an effective GPR methodology based on the electromagnetic wave reflection pattern, specifically the hyperbola, to detect difficult-to-locate underground buried cables.

Purpose : Smoking is a major factor in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), but the effect of electrical cigarette smoking on COPD development is still uncertain. This study aimed to compare the functions of airways and lungs exposed to combustible cigarettes and electrical cigarettes based on the pulmonary function test (PFT) results from the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). Methods : This study used data from 8,942 participants with PFT results out of 47,309 total subjects from the 6th to 8th Korean NHANES (2014-2015, 2016-2018, and 2019, respectively). Individuals with diseases such as cancer, ex-smokers, and dual tobacco users were excluded. The PFT results were analyzed according to the COPD diagnostic criteria. After adjusting for confounding variables, a complex sample generalized linear model ANOVA test was performed to investigate the association between PFT results and combustible smoker or electrical cigarette user groups. Results : In an analysis based on the obstructive ventilatory disorders (forced expiratory volume in 1 second[FEV1]/forced vital capacity[FVC]<.7), combustible cigarette smokers showed a 3.46 times higher risk of COPD compared to non-smokers, while electrical cigarette smokers exhibited no significant difference in terms of COPD-related risks compared to non-smokers. FEV1 showed a negative relation with combustible cigarette smokers as reported elsewhere (B=-.07, p<.001). FEV1/FVC was negatively related to both combustible cigarette smokers (B=-.03, p<.001) and electrical cigarette smokers (B=-.02, p<.001). Conclusion : FEV1/FVC decreases were observed in the long-term exposure to both combustible and electrical cigarettes. The lower FEV1 in the combustible cigarette group implies the worsening of the severity of COPD, suggesting more damage to the airways and lungs in the short term. Therefore, the temporary electrical cigarettes use for the transition period in order to smoking cessation potentially aids to reduce the harmful effect of combustible cigarettes in COPD development.
Unlike advancements on land, the maritime industry has been slow to embrace new technologies, primarily due to user apprehension toward unproven innovations in the development process. The existing paradigm of technology development, marked by expert-oriented and laboratory-centric test environments, often leads to a stagnation of progress at the research stage, as the applicability of the technology remains uncertain. This study departed from the conventional research system and introduced a novel methodology known as a "living lab." This approach aimed to ensure applicability by actively involving field-oriented users throughout the entire lifecycle of technology development, encompassing planning, development, verification, and evaluation. The presentation of a plan for the construction and operation of such a living lab in this study is expected to contribute to establishing an efficient experimentation system for ships that can reflect user opinions in the future and to secure technology applicability in the maritime field.
